HP: White Lord of Slytherin

Chapter 38 Classroom Chaos

The Potions class in the afternoon might have added the task of patrolling the castle. The air pressure around Professor Snape was lower than usual. Not only were the other three houses afraid, but the students of Slytherin were also cautious and did not dare to offend their own dean.

When he came to class, he didn't waste time talking. He waved his wand directly at the blackboard and said, "Today we are making swelling potions. Some people should cheer up. Of course, I am also prepared to lose points."

After just a few words, Neville Longbottom was sweating profusely, and the other students became nervous.

Draco didn't hesitate to sneer at Gryffindor's nervousness in class. Professor Snape didn't even look over here. Gloria looked at Harry and the others silently and found that Harry was also panicked and looked at the Slytherin students sitting in the back row from time to time.

There are two processes in the preparation of the swelling medicine that are prone to violent reactions and require concentration.

Today Draco was in charge of stirring the potion, while Gloria handled the materials and put them in at the appropriate times. The two of them worked in perfect harmony, and the first boiling effect went smoothly.

During calm times, Professor Snape criticized Gryffindor students harshly, with some of them crying, while the Slytherin students snickered in glee.

Draco had time to distract himself, so he picked up the extra puffer fish eyes on the table and threw them at Harry and Ron, as if he wanted to throw them into their cauldrons and destroy the potion.

Harry and Ron looked angry, but Professor Snape pretended not to see anything. If they fought back, they would only get points deducted by this biased dean. It was Gloria who held back the playful boy.

"Okay, there's not much time left. I've already prepared the ingredients and am ready for the next stage of cooking."

Draco then curled his lips and put down the puffer fish eye in his hand.

"Our Mr. Potter, are you boiling water? Congratulations, your potion has been deemed unqualified." Without Draco's interference, Professor Snape appeared beside Harry like a dark ghost.

Although Draco did not turn around to see the joke, the corners of his mouth were raised high and his brows were relaxed in pleasure.

After ridiculing Harry, Professor Snape turned and "floated" to Neville, ready to continue finding trouble.

After successfully solving the second process with strong reactions, the swelling potion was completed. Gloria, who was still concentrating, heard the potion boiling violently and the cauldron buzzing in the back, and almost subconsciously pulled out her wand: "Water protection!"

The medicine in Goyle's crucible exploded, splashing all over the place. The students screamed under the attack of the swelling potion. Several students near Gloria were blocked by a layer of water film-like protection and were not affected by the potion.

Goyle was stumbling around, covering his eyes with his eyelids swollen like plates, while Crabbe was holding his left cheek, which was swollen like a balloon, with his hand.

"Quiet!" Snape roared. Fortunately, he had anticipated that there might be some chaos today, so he brought some anti-swelling agents. "Students who were splashed by the potion, come to me and get the anti-swelling agents!"

Almost half of the students in the class were splashed. Some had their arms swollen like clubs, and some had a large swollen lump on their foreheads... Everyone covered their swollen parts and squeezed towards Professor Snape.

Draco was still in shock. If it weren't for the water curtain, he and Gloria might have been hit as well. He immediately said angrily, "What happened to Goyle and the others? They almost got us involved!"

Gloria removed the water curtain protection and looked for suspicious persons. She then saw Harry, who looked very apologetic. Ron and Hermione were nowhere to be seen.

It was confirmed that Harry was the one who caused the explosion. No wonder he looked so flustered before; it turned out he was feeling guilty.

Harry felt very regretful. He had originally chosen other Slytherin students' cauldrons, but Malfoy's act of smashing pufferfish eyes into their cauldrons made him immediately decide to change targets. He chose Crabbe and Goyle who had bullied them, so as to affect the hateful Malfoy. His anger made him forget about Gloria who was blocked by Malfoy's figure.

When everyone drank the anti-edema potion, Snape quickly walked to Crabbe and Goyle's cauldrons and scooped out a ball of black fireworks ashes with a spoon. Suddenly the classroom became quiet. It was obvious that someone had deliberately exploded the potion.

"If I find out who did it, I will definitely fire him." Snape said in a low, gloomy voice, and his eyes quickly locked on Harry, the person he thought was most suspicious.

Harry, feeling remorseful, tried his best to pretend to be as confused as the other students. Snape looked at Gloria again and said, "Miss Albert's excellent reaction and superb spell successfully protected several students from the same college. Fifteen points for Slytherin!"

The exploding potion frightened everyone, but if they heard correctly, the spell used by Gloria was not any protective spell they had learned.

The get out of class was over soon. Professor Snape failed to catch the culprit and returned to his office with a gloomy face. Crabbe and Goyle, who had recovered from taking medicine, immediately found Draco.

"Our potion is ready, otherwise there would be no swelling effect. It must be those Gryffindor people's fault!" Goyle was still touching his eyelids, which were terribly swollen before.

Crabbe said, "We must catch whoever that person is. I suspect Potter."

Draco immediately agreed when he heard Potter's words. "He was criticized by Professor Snape, so he wanted to take revenge on us, damn Potter!"

Gloria didn't hear what they were saying at all. She waved Draco's arm and said, "I'm going to the bathroom. Please bring the book back for me. I'll meet you in the hall later."

Draco took the book from her, thinking about how to catch Harry doing something bad.

Gloria went straight to the bathroom on the second floor. If her guess was correct, they might all be there.

Sure enough, when they arrived at the bathroom, Harry and the others were all there. He saw someone coming in and blocking Hermione who was sitting on the floor. He was relieved when he found out it was Gloria.

Harry quickly apologized: "I'm sorry Gloria, I was so angry with Malfoy at the time, I'm so glad you're okay."

"I wasn't splashed with the potion." Gloria said in a serious tone, staring at Ron, "It was you. You and Hermione were not there in the last few minutes of the Potions class. It was Harry who caused the potion to explode. You were trying to attract Professor Snape's attention."

Hermione quickly stood up and pushed aside Harry and Ron who were blocking the way. "Gloria, we have something we have to do. I'm really sorry about what happened today."

Gloria carefully identified the smell of potion wafting from the crucible, "You are brewing Polyjuice Potion."

"How do you know?!" Hermione's voice rose, and then she realized that she had admitted it, "We haven't put in the two most critical potion ingredients yet."

"I have brewed Polyjuice Potion." Gloria tilted her head. "Who do you want to become?"

I don't think they ever pulled out their hair.

"No one..." Harry denied, stumbling.

Ron suddenly had an idea and explained, "We didn't use it. Fred and George asked us to make it for a Christmas prank."

Gloria raised her eyebrows. This was indeed something the Weasley twins could do.

Hermione quickly helped out, "Yes, Professor Snape has always been on guard against them, so we tried to steal the horns of the bicorns and the skins of the African boomslang..."

Even though she stole from the much hated Professor Snape, Hermione still felt ashamed of it.

"I'll buy a new one next semester and secretly send it back to Professor Snape's office," Harry promised.

Gloria was too lazy to explore the purpose of their brewing the potion. "In any case, I hope your two brothers won't use their pranks on Draco."

Ron nodded heavily, "I will...I will tell them."
