HP: White Lord of Slytherin

Chapter 10 Astronomy Tower Chat

As time went by, everyone's minds gradually returned to their studies, and Gloria hadn't spoken to any Slytherin for more than a week.

After finishing the afternoon classes that day, she went back to the dormitory to prepare things for the astronomy class at 11 o'clock in the evening. When she came back and saw Pansy and her group sitting around Draco, she was about to walk past without even looking.

"You've really fallen. Whenever you attend classes with Gryffindor, you're always with that Mudblood. The Sorting Hat shouldn't have sorted you into Slytherin." Pansy stood up and taunted Gloria.

Gloria pulled out her wand beyond their expectation, stared at Pansy as she approached, and said word by word: "Don't insult my friends."

Pansy laughed exaggeratedly and drew her wand as well, "Mudblood friend? Let's try, are you really qualified to be in Slytherin!"

Draco leaned on the sofa and slowly clenched his hands under his robe.

"Tarantallegra!"

Pansy wanted to embarrass Gloria by making her do a funny dance and then stinging her face - that too pretty face.

Gloria raised her wand and whispered: "defense"

Pansy's spell hit the invisible defense, like fireworks going out.

"Heavy blow!"

Pansy was blown away by the force, and the sofa was overturned. The other two people sitting on it were Crabbe and Goyle. The three of them groaned in pain, which stunned the crowd watching the show.

Gloria walked closer and looked down at him. "As a Slytherin, you have no right to humiliate my friends. You are such a fool who always sticks your head out."

There was a double entendre in his words, and his silver eyes flashed with a cold light, looking at Pansy as if she were dirty garbage.

Pansy is sarcastic and arrogant. It's rare that she has tolerated all these geniuses coming to trouble her.

Gloria curled her lips, glanced at Draco's face inconspicuously, and saw the platinum master's eyes wide open, so she held back her laughter and left.

Pansy was so embarrassed that she wanted to disappear right there. She made such a fool of herself in front of the person she loved. Daphne helped her up as if she didn't see what happened. "You shouldn't be so impulsive. At least find out her strength."

Pansy made an excuse, "I'm not in a good mood today."

Zabini snorted and laughed. "I think she's good at spells. Professor Flitwick calls on her to demonstrate in every class. And she's able to get the headmaster to agree to let her house-elf stay here, which shows that her family is powerful."

Pansy was puzzled, "But didn't all the Alberts in France die? This is the information you investigated."

Almost half a month had passed since the start of the school year, which was enough time for everyone present to find out a lot of information. Because Pansy speculated that Gloria was an orphan, she became even more disdainful and contemptuous of her.

Daphne speculated softly, "Perhaps the Albert family secretly left some wealth behind, and she alone inherited it."

Seeing Pansy's shallow and domineering look, Daphne felt that her family was holding her back, otherwise why would she secretly compete with such a fool who was no match for her in both appearance and strength.

Zabini looked at Draco, "I saw it. Albert looked at Draco when she left. She cares about you a lot."

Draco's cheeks flushed slightly at the ambiguous words, "So what? Hanging out with Potter and the others..."

Before he could finish his words, he stood up and went back to his dormitory.

Gloria didn't care what those people discussed after she left. The first thing she did when she returned to the dormitory was to release three snakes.

"Lockhart's class is so boring. It's a pity that he didn't let us catch some more magical creatures."

Apophis was the first to shake his head. "Forget it. The last elf was so shrunken that it almost choked me. I prefer fat and tender fresh meat."

Golinia followed up with, “You are a stupid professor.”

Jörmungandr spit out his snake tongue and said, "You won't learn any useful knowledge this year. When you go back home during the holidays, read more books in the study."

Gloria took out the magic gems and fed them to the three snakes. "I've accepted your suggestions. Eat something good to replenish your energy. We have astronomy class at 11 o'clock."

Golinia took the opportunity to wrap her hand around hers and said, "These people in school are very lively. I haven't heard so much talking in years."

Jörmungandr twitched his tail tip quickly. "I can sleep better when I hear them talking."

Gloria was very relieved. "That's great, as long as you don't want to eat people."

Apophis' voice rose, "How can a human compare to a magical gem!"

Golinia: "Shouldn't we kill that ugly girl? How dare she cast a curse on you."

If Gloria hadn't warned them repeatedly, they would have rushed out and killed Pansy.

Gloria stroked her golden scales and said, "No, it's just a minor fight. Unless my life is in danger, don't worry about the rest."

11pm, Astronomy Tower -

Professor Sinistra had already set up the telescope and asked the students to be quiet. "Today we will observe the star A in the Draco constellation and draw a star map of its orbit. This will be the paper for this class."

Gloria was surprised that Draco was not far from her. When she heard the word Draco, she immediately looked at him. This was the constellation from which Master Platinum got his name.

While the other students were communicating with each other to some extent, she quietly wrote down the orbits and then carefully drew a star map. She had seen all eighty-eight constellations at Slytherin Manor, and she knew all the famous stars clearly.

The one-hour class passed quickly. Gloria put away the parchment and pointed the telescope at other constellations.

Ten minutes before midnight, Professor Sinistra asked everyone to pack up and get ready to go back. It didn't matter if they were seen by Filch at this time, as he remembered the times for astronomy classes in the four colleges every week.

Draco said to Zabini and the others, "You go back first. I have something to do."

Everyone turned their eyes to Gloria who was still using the telescope, and the direction was obviously not Draco.

After the group left, only Draco and Gloria were left in the Astronomy Tower.

"Are you really going to be a traitor to Slytherin?"

Draco's voice floated from behind. Gloria turned around and saw him frowning. "Are you worried about me, Malfoy?"

Hearing this, Draco turned his head and his jaw was clenched. "Worried about you? I just don't understand. You can definitely become one of us."

"I did not betray Slytherin."

Gloria said it calmly. She was the only heir of the Slytherin family and had been educated by the portraits for more than ten years. How could she possibly betray?

Draco's tightly pursed lips gradually relaxed, "Then why did you go with Potter and the others, knowing that one of them was a pure-blood traitor, one was a half-blood, and the other was a mudblood—"

Gloria laughed, "Malfoy, don't say such harsh words, Hermione is just a Muggle-born."

"You're still speaking for her. Isn't that called betraying Slytherin?" Draco was immediately annoyed and walked quickly to her side. "You're a pure-blood. Do you want to be like the pure-blood traitor Weasley family?"

Gloria stood up and gently grasped his sleeve, "Calm down, there is a reason why I want to be friends with them. I am a Slytherin."

The moonlight shone on Draco's face, and his gray-blue eyes became deeper. He quickly glanced at the hand on his sleeve and said, "Then tell me the reason."

Gloria let go of her hand and leaned against the railing of the Astronomy Tower. "Gryffindors are brave and upright enough, and often brave to the point of being reckless, but they have one significant advantage that is worth making friends with."

Draco lowered his eyes, only agreeing with the word reckless. He had the patience to listen to Gloria's explanation, "Advantages?"

Gloria nodded, her fluffy, thick light blonde hair swaying with her movements, and the large curly blonde hair reflecting charming arcs under the moonlight:

"Sincerity, especially sincerity towards friends, Malfoy. You cannot deny that Slytherin is not as good as Gryffindor in this regard. From the first day I met you, each of you has been testing and investigating me, family background, whether I am a pure blood, strength. The premise of friendship is to be a good match. I don't think that the law of the jungle environment in Slytherin is bad, but it does not affect my desire to have sincere friends. It is difficult to find sincere friends in Slytherin, so Gryffindor is a good choice."

Draco opened his mouth, unsure how to respond.

Yes, sincerity is not absent in Slytherin, but it is very rare. Even a Malfoy like him needs to maintain his status in the small group and perform better than Zabini in everything.

"Since you were sorted into Slytherin, you have to accept this situation."

Finally, I came to this dry conclusion.

"No, Malfoy, I accept this situation, but that doesn't mean I can't explore other situations. So far, I have succeeded. In Slytherin, your admirer Parkinson is reckless and not smart enough. Every time he sees me, he wants to curse me to death; Greengrass is patient and smooth, and regards me as an incomplete opponent; Nott remains silent; your two bodyguards and others look at your face; Zabini is very smart and has good communication skills. As for the others -"

When the word "admirer" was mentioned, Draco turned his face away unnaturally. There were many pure-blood girls staring at the position of his fiancée, and Pansy was the most high-profile one. They had known each other since they were very young. Mrs. Parkinson had always been trying to please her mother, and for her father, the Parkinson family was easy to control, so he did not stop Pansy from approaching.

He told himself in his heart that appearance was not important in pure-blood family marriages, but the truth was that Pansy's appearance was too ordinary.

He looked up at Gloria, the girl of the same grade who had suddenly entered the school. She caught his attention at first sight. Her blonde hair, silver eyes, mysterious pure-blood background, and natural and free-spirited temperament all attracted the boy who had just entered puberty.
