"Stop it, you filthy devil!"

Edward scolded, but unfortunately it couldn't stop Vernon from laughing wildly.

"That witch is in cahoots with you. What do you want the soul for?" Holmes asked in a low voice, with his arms folded.

"You don't know how delicious her soul is. A kind, pure, innocent, and beautiful soul is the best material for the devil!"

Vernon looked intoxicated, licking his upper fangs with his scarlet tongue.

"So, you and the witch lied to the Duke that Miss Cecilia would bring misfortune to the family and tricked her into killing her, and then brought her to you as materials for sacrifice." Moriarty said slowly, his voice no longer gentle and peaceful.

Mrs. Emerson held back her sobs and looked up at the evil spirit with flames above her head.

"Unfortunately, no. He and I signed a contract, so I can't kill him. However, I didn't get his soul."

"I am waiting for his death in his room, and will soon have a good meal, and I am enjoying the slow waltz of the soul as it arrives."

"But the old man suddenly chanted a spell. I bet that crazy bitch Vanessa told him. Before I could react, my knight's sword pierced my chest and took me all the way to the bottom of the fountain."

"Congratulations on keeping your mouth shut and believing his lies. To be honest, I still admire him for sacrificing his relatives for the sake of justice."

Edward was stopped by him and didn't know what to think for a moment. He just turned to Mrs. Emerson and said tremblingly, "Don't believe him, mother. Of course, father loves us."

Holmes rolled his eyes and turned his head away with contempt.

Vernon raised his fingers and counted the heads on the open space one by one.

"There are more than 20 people! Today's meal can make up for three years of hunger!"

Vernon suddenly changed his form in the flames, and medieval knight armor covered Vernon's entire body.

Orange-red flames were rising from the silver-white armor, and the water droplets emitted hot air, forming a trail of white smoke.

He lifted up the heavy armor, took the head off his shoulder, held it with his left hand and placed it on his waist.

Edward yelled at him in panic, clenching the gun in his hand.

Joshua stood there in amazement. Holmes and Moriarty had frowns on their faces, and serious vigilance in their eyes.

The others were trembling all over, and some servants held their weapons tightly in their hands, with firm eyes, exuding the confidence to face death.

"Didn't I say that?"

Vernon responded lazily, and the long sword in the pool slowly floated to his right hand. The gold and silver matched each other, shining brightly in the moonlight.

"You all know the Duke's secret. I must fulfill my contract and kill him to silence him."
