Operation Red Book

Chapter 29: The Doll with a Grinning Mouth 1

Ivy's gaze shifted to the Shuyun doll lying flat on the ground. This doll seemed a little different from the previous one, she thought.

The puppet's head rotated 45 degrees, and its entire face turned towards Ivy and Mr. Zhu.

Its tightly closed eyes slowly opened, revealing two bottomless black holes beneath its thick eyelashes, which emitted a chilling air.

Ivy and Mr. Zhu's hair stood on end, and the scream got stuck in Ivy's throat.

The Shuyun doll opened its red lips, the corners of its mouth cracked to the roots of its ears, revealing sharp teeth and bottomless black holes.

“Tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk…”

The Shuyun doll moved all the joints, twisting its entire body into a strange shape.

First, its waist stood up, then its upper body rose up, and finally, its head snapped back into place, and the whole body of the puppet stood upright.

"Brother...Brother Shuyang..."

The Shuyun doll turned around and faced the frightened Shuyang.

"Why don't you come to see Shuyun... Shuyun... I miss Brother Shuyang so much..."

The Shuyun doll grinned and let out a miserable wail.

"Shuyun...you are not Shuyun!"

Shuyang was trembling all over and kept repeating this sentence.

"Brother Shuyang... come and accompany Shuyun!"

The Shuyun puppet suddenly took out a foot-long hand knife and was about to stab Shuyang's neck.

"No!" Ivy screamed.

Mr. Zhu also jumped up at the same moment and reached out to grab the knife from the Shuyun puppet.

"Woo——"

Shuyun was faster than Mr. Zhu. She whimpered, raised her purple hands, and pounced on the Shuyun doll.

In an instant, Shuyun and the Shuyun doll disappeared, and Shuyang and Mr. Zhu also disappeared in the black fog.

The entire Shisanfang was distorted and deformed, turning into small dots and finally disappearing into the darkness.

"Hey, wake up... Ivy! Ivy..."

Mr. Zhu muttered to himself and gently patted Ivy's cheek with his right hand.

After a long while, Ivy's upturned eyes gradually revealed black pupils, but they were still scattershot and out of focus.

Seeing this, Mr. Zhu chuckled twice, picked up the teacup beside him and poured the tea into Ivy's throat.

"Cough cough cough...Pah pah..." Ivy coughed out the tea, and her pupils brightened.

"This tea dregs is really... harmful..."

Ivy looked around. Now she was sitting in the room she had been in before. Shuyang and Shuyun - the brides with red veils - were nowhere to be seen.

The long sword was still in Mr. Zhu's hand, and the previously boiling hot teapot was knocked over to the ground, and the clear water that spilled on the ground had already turned cold.

"We must have just entered the illusion created by that female ghost..."

"It's not a female ghost, her name is Shuyun." Ivy said, turning her head, her brows furrowed and her expression serious.

"Okay, okay, Shuyun, Shuyun, Shuyun rushed over to protect Shuyang in the end. It seems that the Shuyun puppet has something to do with this riot."

"But what about Shuyun and Shuyang? Maybe they have been killed by the Shuyun puppet."

"At least we have found the culprit. Let's go find SCO and tell them about the Shuyun doll. This will make things much easier."

Ivy was pulled up by Mr. Zhu, and the two of them ran through the yard and cobblestone road, all the way to the center of the chaos.

The Chinese market was littered with corpses. Hilda and Alexander were exhausted, one swinging a knife and the other punching.

"Hilda, why can't they be killed?"

Alexander stopped the puppet that was about to chop someone with an axe and punched it so hard that its head turned twice.

"They seem to be able to regenerate. Even if the wood on the ground is cut, it will still move. Guard the border first and don't let them run into the British area... Be careful!"

Hilda threw a big knife over and cut the puppet that was attacking Alexander from behind in half.
