Operation Red Book

Chapter 124 Entering Florence's Plan

As night fell, the rain that had been falling all day finally stopped.

The humid air filled the entire August Street. The street was covered with a thin layer of surface. Water stains were picked up as the boots walked, drawing a splash of water in the air.

Holmes made a phone call to invite Inspector Lestrade, who was dressed in plain clothes and accompanied by two or three people.

"Other teams are standing by with guns in the dark places along the street. They have surrounded the entire welfare home."

Inspector Lestrade handed Holmes a pistol, and Joshua handed the account book in his hand to Inspector Lestrade.

Holmes looked at the Florence Orphanage with its yellow light on in the distance. He loaded his two pistols with bullets and put them heavily on his waist.

"Have the Liverpool police been informed?"

"I have replied, and no trace of Morris has been found."

"As I thought, he is still in London, most likely in the Florence institution."

Holmes sighed heavily and looked up at the orphanage in the distance.

"You did a good job. We must not alert the enemy so easily. When the lights in the welfare home go out, I will sneak in and meet up with the little girl. She made an appointment with me this afternoon, and I promised to rescue her."

"I want to go too!" Ivy rushed up and stared at Holmes.

"Me, me, me too..." Joshua followed Ivy, stumbling over his words.

"You two should stop causing me trouble, especially you, a little sheep. This incident is all your fault." Holmes said harshly, lowering his head and pinching Ivy's face.

Lestrade pulled Ivy and Joshua to his side and coaxed them in a low voice: "Uncle will send someone to take you back later. Don't disturb Uncle Sherlock from working on the case."

"Don't send them back, just let them stay with you. You have to protect her at all times."

Holmes frowned, bent down and looked Ivy in the eye. "Stay with Lestrade, and no one can kill you. Stay here. Do you hear me?"

Ivy seized the opportunity and snatched the gun from Holmes' waist.

She raised her hands tremblingly, pointed them at her head, one finger on the trigger and one on the safety.

"Student Ivy!" Joshua shouted anxiously, and was about to stand up when he was stopped by Holmes.

"What do you want to do? You've been waiting for so long, and the cause of death is to kill yourself?" Holmes asked coldly, staring straight at Ivy.

Ivy swallowed and said in a strong voice: "Please, Sherlock, I want to participate in this event."

"Even if I die soon, I will personally pull Grace out of the devil's cave and watch her turn into the god of death in front of me. I won't cause you any trouble, please..."

Crystal clear tears flowed from Ivy's eyes. Even with tears in her eyes, Ivy looked at Holmes with a firm gaze.

The two looked at each other for a long time, and Joshua and others also slowed down their breathing and waited for a long time.

The deep blue night sky was dotted with stars, and the starlight was imprinted between the two people's eyes. The brown and black collided and blended into each other.

"Alas - I am really defeated by you. All right, you come with me." Holmes looked away and sighed heavily.

"Sherlock!"

"Mr. Holmes!"

Inspector Lestrade and Joshua shouted at the same time, looking at Holmes with confusion and shock in their eyes.

"Hehe, that's great!" Ivy laughed happily and tremblingly put down the pistol that was raised to her forehead.

"I'm watching here. Everything will be fine. I'll send you a signal as soon as I find Morris and the evidence of the crime." Holmes glared at Inspector Lestrade and said calmly.

"The gun is now given to you. Use it well...Joshua, don't get involved. Just stay here and pay attention to my signal at any time."

Holmes drew out the pistol from Inspector Lestrade's waist, checked the magazine and then put it firmly on his waist.

"Student Ivy... I, I will support you at any time." Joshua walked forward and handed his lightsaber to Ivy.

"I don't know how to use this, you can take it yourself, I don't have a pocket to put it in."

Ivy pushed away the lightsaber that Joshua handed to her and focused all her attention on the revolver in her hand.

"Inspector! The lights are out!"

The detective behind Inspector Lestrade pointed into the distance and shouted in a low voice.

"go!"

Holmes smiled and shouted loudly to Ivy, and the two of them ran away into the distance, one after the other.

Inspector Lestrade raised his hand and looked at the backs of the two men, shaking his head helplessly: "They are both doing the same mess, don't you think, Joshua... Joshua?"

Inspector Lestrade looked at Joshua in confusion. He saw Joshua holding the iron bar in both hands, standing there looking at the figure in the distance, his thin lips opening and closing, saying something that only he could hear:

"What should I do? What should I do? I feel like Ivy is really going to die. What should I do..."

Elsewhere under the starry sky, Holmes and Ivy crawled into the bushes one after another and moved to the low wall behind Florence.

Under the starry sky, Holmes asked Ivy unexpectedly in the dark: "Is Dorian here?"

Ivy didn't react for a moment, and instinctively asked back, "Huh?"

"I'm here." A clear voice came from behind, revealing a chill.

Ivy shuddered all over. She first saw a pair of red eyes, and then a head of olive-colored hair.

In the blink of an eye, Dorian's figure emerged from the bushes.

"You, how do you know he is here?" Ivy asked puzzledly. It was obvious that she had not told anyone.

"I knew it long ago. With my skills, how could you easily snatch the gun from my waist?" Holmes' low voice rang out in the silence.

"I know you don't want to be killed for no reason in public. Many people have this hero complex. They all want to accomplish something before they die. Since you pay my rent, I have no choice but to fulfill your ideal."

Holmes turned his head in the darkness, and Ivy could feel the smile on his lips.

"You also think that I will die today." Ivy said gloomily.

"Although I don't believe in Christianity, I respect all theories of gods and Buddhas. There is a 50% chance that you will die today, so I dare not jump to conclusions."

"When Dorian disappeared out of thin air, I understood your intention to break into the orphanage with him at night. I took advantage of your plan and asked him to protect you."

"Tsk, ah, although I don't want to admit it, this devil is indeed ridiculously powerful..." Holmes sighed.

"You are wrong. I just want to play with the gun before I die." Ivy interrupted Holmes impatiently.

"Ah?" Holmes turned his head.

"I didn't plan to help her. I just wanted to eat her soul before the god of death did." Dorian said lazily.

"what?"

Ivy also turned her head, and they both looked at Dorian standing in the dark.
