Hogwarts and the Atypical Wizard
Chapter 13 Sorting Ceremony
All the newbies were so nervous that they couldn't control themselves. At this moment, there was a sudden scream. Not only was he scared to death, but everyone around him was also scared to death.
It turned out that about twenty ghosts suddenly jumped out from the wall behind them. These ghosts were translucent pearl white.
They glided across the room, whispering to each other as they drifted, and one of them noticed the freshman and asked, "What are you doing here?" He was wearing a doublet with a ruffled collar that was popular in the sixteenth century.
"We are the freshmen this year." Everyone else was too nervous to speak, so Sainz took the initiative to take over the conversation.
"It's going to be so fast... It's time for the new students to enroll again..." exclaimed a ghost who looked like a little monk. He was chubby and seemed easy to get along with. He smiled at everyone, "I think they are probably waiting for the entrance test?"
"Excuse me, can you tell us what kind of test it is?" Angelina tentatively sought the ghost's help.
"Aha..." All the ghosts looked at each other in tacit understanding, and no one revealed the details. The ghost in the ruffled-collar tights replied, "You need to experience it yourself. Please allow us to keep it a secret."
The fat friar said he used to be in Hufflepuff and hoped everyone could be sorted there.
"Now, everyone, move, the Sorting ceremony will begin soon." Professor McGonagall came back, "Line up in a single file and follow me."
It was obvious that many children were extremely nervous. Some just wanted to shrink back, but they had no choice but to follow Professor McGonagall out.
They walked out of the room, through the foyer, and through a set of double doors into a grand hall.
I have to say, this is indeed the most magnificent place Sainz has ever seen in his life.
Students from other grades were already sitting around four extra-long tables. Thousands of candles were floating in the air above the tables, lighting up the auditorium brightly.
Such a magical and wonderful place temporarily stopped Sainz's desire to complain about candle lighting.
He glanced around and saw four tables covered with gleaming gold plates and high-heeled wine glasses.
There was another long table on the stage at the top of the auditorium, where the professors sat.
Professor Sinistra, who had taken him to Diagon Alley, was sitting at the table, still dressed the same way as when they met her that day.
Professor McGonagall led the freshmen forward and asked them to stand in a row with their backs to the professor and facing all the senior students.
The lights flickered, and the hundreds of faces staring at them looked like flickering lights. A group of ghosts mixed among the students, shining with hazy silver light.
Looking up, the dark ceiling seemed like silk, sparkling with stars.
Hermione's words when she first saw this scene seemed to ring in her mind, "It looks like the sky here is the same as outside because the ceiling is enchanted. I read about it in Hogwarts, A History."
It really looks like an open-air convertible, and there is no sign of a ceiling at all.
Professor McGonagall first placed a four-legged stool in front of the freshman, and then placed a pointed wizard hat on it. It was patched and worn in many places, as if it had never been washed since it was made, and was dirty and old.
Everyone in the auditorium stared at the hat, students and professors alike.
The hat twisted and a wide crack appeared, like an old donkey suddenly waking up. Sainz knew it was about to start singing.
Sure enough, the next moment:
The mysterious castle stands on the top of the mountain.
You came to this land with dreams in your heart.
Four colleges, each with its own characteristics,
Bravery, wisdom, cunning, loyalty, it's all here.
In the old castle echoes the call of magic,
The lights of the four major colleges illuminate your future.
Courage, wisdom, loyalty and ambition converge and stir at this moment.
Let the Sorting Hat guide you to find your own direction.
Gryffindor's night is bright and shining.
A brave heart that never gives up.
The pride of Slytherin, forge ahead,
Ravenclaw's quest soars into the sky.
Hufflepuff's diligence brings friendship.
The footsteps in the corridor are the echoes of history.
The eyes in the portrait watch you grow up,
What the magic wand brings out is power and the light in one's heart.
There are wonders to be discovered around every corner at Hogwarts.
Compose magical music with you.
Hogwarts, the great castle,
The magical world begins from now on.
The meteors in the sky sparkle with hope.
This is where dreams are held.
Hogwarts, your eternal home,
Let us sing praises to the magical world.
When the hat finished singing, the whole audience burst into applause. It bowed to the four tables one by one, and then stood still.
The young wizards around all breathed a sigh of relief. Some cursed in a low voice, "It seems that I just need to put on the hat. Peart actually told me to deal with a three-headed dog..."
"Now, whoever's name I call will sit on the stool, put on the hat, and wait for the sorting." Professor McGonagall held a roll of parchment in her hand and began to call the roll.
"Angelina Johnson!" The first person named was the wheat-colored girl standing next to Sainz.
She stared at the Sorting Hat nervously, walked forward hesitantly, put on the hat, and just as she sat on the chair, she heard the hat shout, "Gryffindor!"
There was warm applause and cheers from the long table on the far left.
She put her hat down, walked towards the crowd that waved to her, and sat down at the table.
"Adam Summers!"
A thin boy stepped forward and put on the hat. This time the Sorting Hat took about ten seconds to say, "Hufflepuff!"
This time, applause came from the long table on the far right. He walked over and sat down. Someone shook hands with him. The fat ghost monk was also at the table.
"Aliya Spinnet!"
"Gryffindor!"
"Ben Stebbins!"
"Hufflepuff!"
"Fred Weasley!"
"Gryffindor!"
"Florence Cebephia!"
A little girl with brown-red hair came out, looking peaceful.
"Ravenclaw!"
She became the first student of Ravenclaw.
There was warm applause from the second table on the left. Some boys even jumped up and waved their hands, but were stopped by a girl who should be the class monitor.
"George Weasley!"
"Gryffindor!"
"Karon Lawrence!"
A boy with a calm face that did not belong to his age came forward, his hair was meticulously groomed.
"Slytherin!" The Sorting Hat determined his house in just a second.
The Slytherin table was the second one on the right, and after the Sorting Hat called out his house, he was visibly relieved and walked straight towards it.
"Cassius Warrington!" From the name, he seems to be from the so-called 28 pure-blood family.
Sure enough, "Slytherin!"
"Roger Davis!"
"Ravenclaw!"
Subsequently, several more people were sorted into Gryffindor, including Lee Jordan, who later became a Quidditch commentator.
There were also a few from Slytherin, including Maurice Montague, Miles Blige, and Hugh Travis.
Of course, Hufflepuffs have the most.
"Cedric Diggory!"
"Hufflepuff!"
Sainz noticed that Cedric was indeed a handsome little boy, and in "Harry Potter", this little handsome boy could be described as a perfect character.
Of course, most of the perfect ones don't end up so perfectly. He was hit by an Avatar at the end of the Triwizard Tournament.
"Sainz Autumn!"
Professor McGonagall lowered her head slightly and looked at him through the gap above her glasses. She was obviously impressed by this only Asian face.
Finally hearing his own name, Sainz walked forward steadily, lifted up the dirty and worn pointed hat and put it on his head.
"Well, his calm temperament doesn't seem like a young wizard at all. His calmness reveals his tenacity and courage. Ah, his thirst for knowledge is so strong. Perhaps Ravenclaw is the right choice?
Hmm? It's not that I don't have ambition, but my desire is so strong that I don't care about anything else... Oh... This is a different kind of courage. Maybe someone in Slytherin can help you?
Not going to Slytherin? If that's your choice!
Then respect your decision.”
Then the Sorting Hat shouted to the whole hall:
"Hufflepuff!!!"
