The thunder outside the window became louder, and lightning fell one after another, like the roar of ghosts and gods, warning Tang Wan not to say anything that shouldn't be said.

Tang Wan felt that Xie Yan was holding her tighter. He didn't say anything else, but just tightened his arms, making it almost impossible for Tang Wan to breathe.

Tang Wan didn't know what to say. She showed the amulet in her hand to Xie Yan, "So this is the kind of amulet that wards off evil spirits?"

But that doesn’t make sense. If it really was a talisman to ward off evil spirits, why would Xie Yan give it to her?

"No, it's for soul-fixing." Xie Yan buried himself in Tang Wan's neck, and Tang Wan couldn't see his expression clearly.

"I went to see the master," Xie Yan paused, "He gave me the outermost yellow cloth, but I replaced the contents with a piece of white paper before I came back."

The bookcase not far away was the new territory that Xie Yan had recently opened up. Tang Wan was held in Xie Yan's arms, listening to his nervous heartbeat. She saw that the bookcase was divided into neat shadows by the exquisite antique chandelier above his head.

"But I'm afraid it's not what I imagined... This amulet will cause you trouble, or even pain, so I changed it to paper."

The room was very quiet, and the only sound was thunder outside the window. Tang Wan could feel her own heartbeat roaring in her ears. The unknown voice coming from far away made her heart excited and sad.

Tang Wan hugged Xie Yan tightly, feeling his body temperature, opening her mouth and closing it again.

She wanted to ask, "What if I really am a ghost?", and she also wanted to laugh at Xie Yan, "You clearly don't know anything, but you don't ask her anything."

He clearly knew nothing, yet he took everything into consideration.

In the end, Tang Wan just lowered her eyebrows slightly and buried her face in Xie Yan's arms, trying to hide the moisture in her eyes.

"Then why did you give me this amulet in the end?"

Xie Yan closed his eyes and hugged Tang Wan tighter, almost rubbing her into his arms: "Because you looked really eager when you were at the zoo last time."

His words were light, but Tang Wan felt a pang in her heart. It was just a request she made casually, but she didn't expect Xie Yan to keep it in mind.

She didn't know how long Xie Yan had been tormented by this matter, and in what state he kept guessing about her identity, while pretending to be indifferent to her, as if he had no idea about this matter.

Tang Wan hated this kind of sensational atmosphere. She forced herself to smile and tried to appease Xie Yan: "Then I'm telling you now, your guess is completely wrong..."

Xie Yan, however, looked at her steadily, his extremely dark eyes revealing no emotion. He suddenly stretched out his hand and pressed on Tang Wan's lips, his eyelashes drooping. Tang Wan could not see his expression clearly, but could hear his tone was almost servile.

"It's okay if you don't tell me anything. I'm not that curious."

He lowered his brows and reached out to hook the loose hair on Tang Wan's forehead behind her ears. He was very careful in his movements, for fear of disturbing Tang Wan.

"Wanwan, as long as you stay by my side, I don't need to know anything."

In those stories, no matter whether it is fairies, gods or ghosts, the time to confess is when they are about to leave. Rather than a confession, it is more like an indication that their fate has come to an end. The story often ends with the male protagonist regretting it.

If it were him, Xie Yan had thought about this possibility countless times. He would rather know nothing. As long as Tang Wan stayed with him, it didn't matter what she was. He was willing to be a fool all his life.

"Thank you, you..."

Tang Wan sighed. She didn’t know why this person was so stupid about this matter. What if she really wanted to kill for money?

Xie Yan blinked, turned his face to the side as if avoiding the question, and changed the subject awkwardly.

"It's time to go to bed. I have things to do tomorrow morning..."

"Thank you for the feast!"

Tang Wan found it funny that Xie Yan was avoiding the issue like an ostrich with its head buried in the sand, and she asked with a helpless look.

"You really don't want to ask something?"

Xie Yan turned his head and quickly looked at Tang Wan, then turned his head away as if nothing had happened.

"Do not want to."

The next second, Xie Yan only felt the soft and sweet touch on his lips. His eyes widened in surprise, and his thick and curly eyelashes trembled slightly, making him look like a little girl being forced.

Tang Wan smiled and reached out to cover Xie Yan's eyes: "Close your eyes."

After saying that, Tang Wan closed her eyes embarrassedly. She could feel Xie Yan's lips touching her lips like a dragonfly touching the water, as if he was confirming whether she really existed.

There was a strong wind outside the window, and the rain was hitting the glass like an unstoppable torrent. Tang Wan could hear the thunder getting louder and louder, as if there was no end.

Xie Yan lowered his head and absorbed Tang Wan's warmth and sweetness. He suspected that he was still in a dream. Just a touch of soft, tender and smooth taste rolled over his lips, so tender that he seemed able to swallow it in one bite.

Xie Yan felt the girl under him slightly open her red lips and cautiously invited him in. Xie Yan nervously hugged the soft body in his arms, and his whole body tensed up.

The small lilac tongue licked him lightly, and after two attempts, it tentatively slipped into his mouth. Xie Yan subconsciously sucked her.

"Well, thank you for the banquet..."

Tang Wan called his name softly. She opened her eyes and wanted to see Xie Yan's expression. But when she raised her eyes, she saw a burning flame flickering in Xie Yan's cold black pupils.

"I'm here." Xie Yan opened his thin lips, stretched out his hand and grabbed the back of Tang Wan's head tightly. Tang Wan had to raise her little face to let him kiss her. Her breathing became rapid, and her hands involuntarily grabbed the clothes on Xie Yan's chest, and her consciousness gradually became blurred.

In the quiet night, only Xie Yan's voice could be heard as the two of them were passionately licking each other. His voice was hoarse, as if it was muffled by something.

"Wanwan, I'm here."

Tang Wan lay on Xie Yan's chest. She could feel Xie Yan's hands slowly moving through her long hair. Tang Wan tried hard to calm her breathing and listened to Xie Yan's heartbeat.

He suppressed all his emotions and never mentioned the incident again, as if nothing had happened.

Tang Wan felt a difficult and obscure emotion filling her heart. She pulled Xie Yan's clothes to draw his attention back.

"Xie Yan," she found it funny to see Xie Yan's expression as if he was facing a great enemy. She didn't expect Xie Yan to be afraid of this. "Don't run away. Listen to me."

Xie Yan turned around and was about to leave, but Tang Wan immediately grabbed his hand and said loudly: "I will stay with you."

A loud thunderclap sounded, as if everything in the world was shaking, and lightning instantly illuminated the entire room.

Xie Yan stood there in a daze. He heard Tang Wan's voice coming from behind him.

"So, don't be afraid."
