Harry Potter: Miss Malfoy
Chapter 97 The miserable mandarin duck
I don’t know if it’s because of my own loss of control that Hagrid’s eyes were filled with fear.
The classmates in the class exclaimed in unison, and I saw several students covering their mouths with their hands.
"'Draco!'"
"'Miss Malfoy!'"
Pansy, Daphne, and Crabbe-Gore turned around at the screams.
Buckbeak spread his wings, stood up on his hind legs, and raised his sharp front paws high.
His mind went blank and he turned his back unconsciously, huddling in vain.
Only then did he realize that Harry was rushing towards him, and he pulled him over and blocked him behind him.
I was knocked to the ground by the force of the pull, and before I landed, I felt a strong wind sweeping past behind me.
“What are you doing…!”
My body was already uncomfortable enough, and I was being pulled so roughly.
He was about to attack Harry in shock and anger, only to realize that he was protecting himself.
He quickly closed his mouth and looked up at Harry, who was blinking, as if he was also enduring some pain.
The arms that were tightly around Draco did not relax at all, and he looked back at Buckbeak with a vigilant look.
Thinking of the thrilling incident just now, Draco's already pale face turned even more pale.
Hagrid had rushed in front of Buckbeak, separating the two parties.
It was with great difficulty that he calmed down the winged beast that had been accidentally offended.
None of the students around said a word, but many looked surprised.
Pansy and Daphne both looked as if they had suddenly realized something, while Hermione looked at them with a half-smile.
"Are you ok?"
Harry asked softly, a drop of sweat sliding down his forehead and dripping onto Draco's left cheek.
Harry's face turned pale.
Draco turned around and raised his right hand, wanting to wipe the sweat off his forehead, but in the end he did not move.
Looking over his shoulder, he saw black cloth and blood stains on Buckbeak's claws.
He immediately understood what Harry had done.
"Harry!"
"You need to go to the ward. Oh my god..."
"Dismiss! That's all for today's class!"
Hagrid hurried over, carried Harry and Draco on his shoulders respectively, and strode towards the ward.
Gryffindor and Slytherin students followed one after another, exchanging opinions constantly.
Some said that Draco was the culprit who provoked Buckbeak, while others blamed Hagrid for bringing such a dangerous creature.
But more often than not, there were whispers discussing the exact relationship between Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy.
Even Ron began to wonder. Maybe he should ask Harry later why he came to the rescue.
-
Seeing Hagrid appear in the ward, Madam Pomfrey kept muttering in annoyance.
"You just don't know the seriousness of the matter! It's just as I expected!"
"I'm telling you, you'd better not be the first professor in history who has no classes to teach because all his students are injured and hospitalized!"
Although Harry comforted Hagrid along the way, Hagrid still blamed himself and endured the scolding from Madam Pomfrey.
It wasn't until Madam Pomfrey saw Harry and Draco that the head nurse's anger shifted.
"I say, are you two some kind of star-crossed couple? Why do you keep being hospitalized together?"
It is indeed a bit exaggerated to visit the ward two days in a row at the beginning of the school term.
Perhaps because of this, Harry silently swallowed Madam Pomfrey's scolding.
Miraculously, even Draco did not retaliate. His pale face flushed, and he lowered his head and walked silently to the bedside.
He waved his wand, took off his tasseled boat shoes, and then buried his face in the pillow with a plop.
Harry followed suit and lay down on the bed, allowing Madam Pomfrey to treat him.
"The wound is deep, but not serious. It's just a flesh wound."
As he spoke, he picked up a medicine bottle and applied the contents to his back.
Harry felt a sticky burning sensation, as if the ointment was kneading his cracked skin together.
"Just lie down for a night and then you can go back."
Harry listened to the diagnosis with relief, hoping it would ease Hagrid's self-blame.
As if she realized she had been too harsh on Hagrid, Madam Pomfrey was cheering him up.
"Don't be discouraged. Thanks to you for rushing over at the first moment, Potter's injury is not that serious."
"Besides, you only injured two people in your first class."
"When Madam Hooch first arrived, the number of students who broke bones was astonishing."
Harry wasn't sure if this was the best consolation, but Hagrid was clearly feeling better.
Finally pulling himself together, he asked Madam Pomfrey to accompany him to the headmaster's office.
After making sure Madam Pomfrey had left, Harry jumped down, tiptoed to the medicine cabinet, got another painkiller, and came to Draco.
-
While Harry was being treated, Draco lay there motionless, silently sorting out his girlish thoughts.
Review the experiences of interacting with Harry one by one, which have become increasingly frequent since last year.
I realized that when I was alone with him, I always had many emotions that I had never experienced.
Why did he get a little testy when he mentioned the Weasley daughter?
Why would he care if Crabbe and Goyle didn't have to follow him around all the time?
Why does my heart surge with joy when I hear him call me by my name?
Why did he rush straight to the broom shop the first thing he did when he left his mother in Diagon Alley?
Why, even though he was the one protecting himself, he couldn't suppress his anger?
The bed shook, and I guessed that Harry sat down beside it.
"Draco."
Here it comes again, that feeling of joy that tickles the back of my heart and goes straight up my throat.
"Take a sip quickly, and I'll put the painkiller back."
Harry said, praying that Hagrid and Madam Pomfrey would return later.
If they were discovered, Gryffindor would probably lose points again.
Draco didn't respond for a moment. Thinking that maybe she was asleep, Harry had to think about putting the bottle back first.
Just as he was about to stand up, Draco pulled his right hand out from under the pillow and punched Harry's waist with his fist.
When Draco's fist touched her body, he realized that she didn't have any strength to hit him. She was just pushing hard against him.
There came the sound of her breath muffled by the pillow.
"Don't do that again."
"Whatever? Steal the potion for you?"
"Ouch!"
I don't know why, but my sincere question earned me a slap from Draco.
"Don't get yourself hurt just to protect me."
Draco spoke clearly.
Raise your right arm and make a clenched fist with your pinky and thumb extended.
Harry paused, smiling.
He also stretched out his right hand and made a pinky gesture.
