Harry Potter: Miss Malfoy
Chapter 91: A Few People in Diagon Alley
After greeting each other, Harry leaned over to Draco and talked endlessly about the merits of the Firebolt.
"It's hard to imagine! This is the broom we rode in the Chamber of Secrets."
"Although the Nimbus 2000 is also a good broom, the vertical acceleration and stability of the Firebolt are unmatched..."
Draco felt inexplicably annoyed, but he could also hear the excitement behind his tone. It should not be just about seeing the Firebolt.
"Do you want to continue helping the broom clerk with sales? Or do you want to take a walk around Diagon Alley?"
He asked tentatively, not knowing how much of a salvation this sentence would be for Harry.
Harry visited the windows of quality Quidditch supply stores every day.
In addition to being really drooling over the Firebolt, I also hoped to run into Draco here, who had once test-driven it.
Finally, on the last day before school started, I got what I wanted. But after seeing Draco, my mind went blank.
You can only revolve around the Firebolt.
Thanks to Draco for lending a hand.
The two walked along Diagon Alley, and naturally they received curious, surprised, and gossipy looks from young men and women along the way.
Draco blushed a little.
But there were only ten minutes left in the free time given by his mother. He wanted to seize the time to say a few more words to Harry, so he had no choice but to ignore the looks around him.
Fortunately, Harry noticed the crowd's attention and took Draco in and out of the alleys on both sides of Diagon Alley with ease.
The two walked side by side.
The alleys were narrow and they often lost their balance trying to avoid the piled-up debris, so they had to hold on to each other from time to time.
Finally, after several awkward attempts at support, Harry simply reached out his hand and wanted Draco to hold his hand.
What he held in his palm was only the wooden handle of a folding fan.
It was a bit unexpected, but looking at Draco's hot face, I felt warmed.
They kept it in their hearts and didn't want to say it out loud, so they just walked through the alleys holding hands and fanning each other.
Looking at Draco's surprised expression, Harry explained with a smile.
"I've been living in the Leaky Cauldron for nearly a month."
"Every time I walked on the street, I would be stared at by curious eyes, so I learned how to go into alleys."
"A month?"
"I thought you were staying with your Muggle relatives during the summer?"
"It's a long story. In short, I screwed up. I turned one of my relatives into a balloon..."
Harry explained everything in a very concise manner, and Draco looked amused and angry.
"As expected, Muggles only know how to bully others without knowing their own limitations."
He was obviously a little unhappy that Harry, as a wizard, had to endure insults from Muggles.
"Not all muggles are like that. Just like not all wizards are good."
Hearing that Harry seemed to be hinting at something, Draco brought up the topic that was on his mind.
"Are you okay? About Sirius Black?"
Harry looked confused.
"I'm fine, there's nothing better than getting away from the Dursleys."
"What happened to Blake? Isn't he the fugitive?"
Only then did he realize that Harry might not know about the past between Sirius Black and his parents.
He looked at Harry, wondering whether or not to tell him what he knew.
In silence, the two turned a corner and returned to Flourish and Blotts Bookstore.
Draco decided that he wasn't the right person to tell Harry about this.
—— Just as he was about to change the subject, he suddenly heard enthusiastic shouts from the crowd.
"Harry! Ha-! Harry-!"
Draco turned around and saw Weasley and Granger running towards Harry, obviously not noticing Draco yet.
The Weasleys followed behind them, looking much darker.
I remembered reading in the Daily Prophet that the Weasleys won a big prize from the Ministry of Magic and went on a trip to Egypt.
Ron rushed over and stopped in surprise, but Hermione noticed it earlier and slowed down.
"Malfoy? What are you doing here?" Ron asked rudely.
"I can be wherever I want, what's it to you?"
The cold tone bothered Harry a little.
"You're looking for trouble with Harry before school starts?"
"I bet you felt terrible for letting Harry win the House Cup after you broke into the Chamber of Secrets!"
"I envy your brain and your generosity."
Draco's anger boiled inside him. What kind of rude and inexplicable inference was this?
"Don't be like that, Ron."
"It's thanks to her that we were able to rescue Ginny, wasn't it?"
Hermione tried to smooth things over, to Draco's surprise.
Draco noticed that the way she looked at him seemed a little different than before.
I unconsciously felt a little more friendly when I saw Granger.
Perhaps, the two of them developed a kind of friendship that could not be called friendship when they fled together in the corridor.
"Yeah, I just happened to run into Malfoy and said hello to her."
Harry also helped to clarify.
But she didn't know why she lied to Ron and Hermione.
I don't even know why I didn't dare to call Draco's name in front of my two best friends.
Hermione had an expression of disbelief, as if she couldn't believe that Harry had made up such a stupid lie.
Draco was secretly happy about Harry's behavior.
Ron's mouth dropped open, and he said silently, "Say hello? When will you say hello to Malfoy?"
Before they could say anything more, Mr. and Mrs. Weasley had already led Ginny to Draco.
Draco was a little overwhelmed when he was suddenly surrounded by the Weasley family.
Mr. and Mrs. Weasley nodded to him.
"Miss Malfoy, despite our many disagreements with your father and mother."
"But we still wanted to thank you in person. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for saving Ginny."
The girl who had been hostile to him also lowered her head.
"Thank you, Miss Malfoy."
"Please accept my apology as well. I shouldn't have accused you like that in the secret room."
Draco could see that Ginny's face was flushed red.
It was definitely because Harry was standing right next to them.
The politeness of the Weasleys and Ginny made Draco feel a little helpless, and he was trying to come up with a response in confusion.
"As one of the twenty-eight sacred surnames, it is my duty to help."
I cursed myself in my heart for what nonsense I was talking about.
Doesn't this sound a lot like an aunt and uncle who care extremely about their bloodline?
As expected, Ron rolled his eyes.
Mr. Weasley's expression also changed slightly.
Hermione was shaking her head, obviously thinking that Harry just now and Draco now were two complete fools.
Draco was extremely embarrassed and wanted to get away quickly, but fortunately the pocket watch his mother had lent him began to heat up.
The time to meet my mother was approaching. Just as I was about to find an excuse to leave, Mr. Weasley held out his hand.
"We're sorry we missed your ball. The Weasleys have always disapproved of pure-blood families forming their own cliques."
"But sincere congratulations, Miss Malfoy."
"I heard that it was the best 'apprenticeship' in decades."
His kindness and honesty made Draco difficult to adapt to, so he could only extend his hand awkwardly.
At the same time, he wanted to explain to Mr. Weasley that he did not mean to emphasize bloodline.
But the Weasleys seemed to notice Draco's discomfort.
After shaking hands, without waiting for her to say anything, she gestured for Ron and Ginny to turn around and leave.
Ron patted Harry and Hermione and asked them to follow.
Noticing Harry's hesitation, she hurriedly whispered as she brushed past him.
"If I were you, I'd want to ask about Sirius Black."
As soon as he finished speaking, he lowered his head and walked quickly towards Gringotts.
——Harry's heart started beating wildly when he heard Draco's reminder.
Could it be that Sirius's escape from prison had something to do with him? He decided to find a chance to ask Mr. Weasley tonight.
Then, he wanted to say goodbye to Draco, but found that she had already walked away.
Following Ron silently, Harry whispered to himself even though Draco wouldn't hear him.
"I'm very happy today."
"See you tomorrow."
The new semester is about to begin.
