Harry Potter: Miss Malfoy

Chapter 88 The Prisoner of Azkaban

I looked at the time and it was almost half past eight. I breathed a sigh of relief.

Draco's responsibility was over. The second half was the adults' time.

You can change into a more casual dress first and wait to accompany your parents to see the guests off.

Judging from the warm atmosphere, my performance should be quite satisfactory.

When I came to the closet and was about to take out the clothes to change, a slight sound came from the closet.

He opened the cabinet door suspiciously, and a childish face emerged with messy dark brown curly hair.

Although her facial features are not as delicate as mine, she is a girl with a more lovely expression than me.

He was staring at himself with eyes wide open, as if in a dream.

"Ma! Miss Malfoy!"

Her breathing was rapid due to excitement, and I was a little worried that she might not be able to catch her breath.

Draco looked intently at the crescent-shaped eyebrows and the small dimples on the cheeks.

This look does look a bit like Daphne. Could it be...

"Is she the Greengrass' daughter? Daphne's sister?"

"Ah! Well..."

The girl in the closet suddenly screamed, and Draco was quick to act.

He quickly covered her mouth to avoid attracting the attention of the guests outside the room.

Suddenly, I felt the breath of a young girl on my palm.

He quickly pulled his hand away and pressed his index finger on his lips, signaling the girl not to make a sound.

The girl's eyes sparkled and she nodded continuously.

"Your sister will only be an apprentice next year."

I wondered how this little guy had sneaked in.

"I'm not that interested in my sister. I came here specifically to see Draco's sister!"

The girl came out of the closet, standing on tiptoe with excitement.

"I'm sorry to come in like this, but mom said that people who haven't been apprenticed can't be here..."

"But how could Astoria miss the grand event of Draco's sister's first appearance as a novice!"

The girl spoke with enthusiasm and Draco smiled bitterly at the internal thought.

After not seeing each other for a long time, Astoria is still like she was when she was a child, and she especially likes to stick to me.

"Astoria managed to collect more than half of the Witch Weekly, and she's still working hard to collect more."

Draco couldn't help but feel embarrassed when he saw Astoria's enthusiasm.

Although I had a lot of fun taking photos, I still felt a little embarrassed when I thought about my photos being circulated in the wizarding world.

"Why do you collect that kind of stuff..."

"Don't let anyone see it. Astoria is very unhappy with the cover."

"How can you cover Sister Draco's beautiful eyes with a gauze hat!"

He added quietly.

"Besides, Astoria doesn't want to let someone unworthy have a picture of Draco's sister..."

Of course Draco hadn't heard it.

Faced with Astoria's hospitality, Draco seemed to understand Harry's feelings towards Dobby.

"You're going to Hogwarts this year too, right, Astoria?"

He asked softly, trying to figure out how to hide Astoria in the room and let her go home when the guests left.

If a young girl under the age of 18 sneaks into another girl's apprentice dance party, it will bring shame to the wealthy family.

"That's right! I won't be left at home by my sister this year!"

"I hope to be assigned to Slytherin, so that I can be in the same house as everyone else!"

"I will, don't worry—Huh?"

"It's suddenly so noisy outside..."

Draco was comforting her, but before he could finish his words, there was a commotion outside the door.

Draco and Astoria were both stunned for a moment. They looked at each other and quietly opened the door.

-

Through the crack in the door, I could see the adults talking about something.

Draco suddenly had an idea and pulled Astoria out of the room.

When the Greengrasses discovered that Astoria had sneaked into the party, they were about to apologize to Lucius and Narcissa on behalf of their daughter.

She quickly explained that it was Daphne who asked her younger sister to go to Draco and help him remove his makeup.

Of course I didn't hide it from my parents and the Greengrasses, but at least I gave them a way to laugh it off.

When I calmed down, I realized that the originally harmonious and warm atmosphere had disappeared.

Kingsley stood in the center of the dance floor, and several families were standing in the corners, whispering to each other, with tensions rising.

"Did you know about this, Lucius? Was this premeditated?"

Watching Mr. McMillan glaring at his father sternly.

"It has nothing to do with me. You know, my wife and I have never liked this man."

"But you all are food..."

"Shh! Don't say that name!"

Mrs. Abbott covered her ears in horror.

"enough."

Kingsley stopped the noise with authority and stepped towards Draco.

"Ms. Malfoy, I'm so sorry. I accidentally ruined the evening."

"If I may take my leave, Mr. and Mrs. Malfoy. I have matters to attend to at the Ministry."

Kingsley turned toward Lucius and Narcissa, bowed his head apologetically, and then disappeared.

Draco was reluctant to notice that his parents looked pale.

Kingsley's departure was like a prelude, and the people present hurriedly greeted Draco and the Malfoys and left.

Interestingly, people like the Macmillans and the Abbotts and Barty Crouch Sr. only said goodbye to Draco.

Kingsley's words were indeed somewhat accurate.

Many families showed up hoping to bring blessings to Draco through the ceremony.

The symbolism allows the fear that one has experienced to not extend to the society in which one's children will live in the future.

But this feeling disappeared without Draco knowing why, and he could only watch people leave.

As Astoria left, she stared at Draco reluctantly.

-

After all the guests left, I returned to the living room with my parents.

Watching her father sitting dejectedly in the armchair, her mother paced nervously.

She took off her silk gloves, poured tea for her parents, and asked them softly what had happened.

The parents remained silent, which made Draco feel even more anxious.

After a long time, my father finally spoke.

"Someone has escaped from Azkaban."

Needless to say, even Draco understood the seriousness of this matter. It was a cage that no one had ever successfully escaped from.

Before he could ask further questions, the father looked at the mother worriedly.

"Your mother's cousin."

"Sirius Black."
