Harry Potter: Miss Malfoy
Chapter 71 Laughter in the Night...
Ron and Hermione were chatting idly.
It wasn't that Hermione didn't want to deal with Ron.
The anger had long since subsided, but my heart was preoccupied with another matter.
She and Ron both knew that Ginny admired and worshipped Harry.
But I never thought that Ginny would actually muster up the courage to confess her love with a card on Valentine's Day.
In particular, she had basically never had a conversation with Harry that lasted more than five sentences.
What's worse is that Harry's reaction today gave Hermione a bad feeling.
It was unusual for him to mention visiting Draco Malfoy twice.
Especially when Harry mentioned Malfoy, the vaguely happy look in his eyes did not escape Hermione's keen observation.
Could something have happened to Harry and Malfoy when they used the Transfiguration Potion to sneak into Slytherin?
Why did Harry seem to have a firm grasp of the secrets of the Chamber of Secrets after that?
The more I think about it, the more irritable I become.
It is because of his extreme intelligence that he lacks a little patience.
Hermione never liked puzzles that could not be solved for the time being.
Until he was distracted by Harry's hurried and panicked tone.
"The diary is gone!"
-
"What did you say?" "How is it possible!"
Hermione and Ron exclaimed at the same time.
"We're just going out for a while, how could we disappear?"
"Did you put away the diary before you left?"
"I... remember stuffing the diary into the book on the table..."
Harry said this with a guilty conscience, and as expected, he received a stern glare from Hermione.
"Are you sure you've searched all the dormitories?"
"Wow, this really sounds like a question my mom would ask!"
"I've already searched everywhere, except for cutting open the quilt, pillows and mattress."
"But who would want to take something like that? And it could only be Gray..."
Hermione didn't finish her words, frowned, stood up and walked towards the girls' dormitory.
"Hermione! Help me figure out what to do!"
Looking at Hermione leaving, Harry called out desperately.
"I will think about it!"
"Besides, who told you to throw away important things?"
He left the hall without looking back.
Ron just muttered as he rubbed his eyes.
"Everything she just said is what my mom said when I lost something..."
Harry looked at Ron, feeling irritated and depressed and unable to relieve himself.
Late that night, I tossed and turned and couldn't sleep, so I grabbed the invisibility cloak again.
-
The next morning, Slytherin students filed out of the hall and prepared to go to the auditorium for breakfast.
Draco walked out of the hall with Pansy and Daphne as usual.
Not long after I stepped out of the stone gate, I felt as if I was hit by something.
Looking towards the door, I could faintly hear slight knocking sounds coming from the empty stone wall.
I understood and stopped.
"You guys go to the auditorium first. I feel a little uncomfortable and want to go back and rest for a while."
Daphne looked worried, and Pansy asked if she wanted Draco to bring some bagels back to his room.
After the two walked away, Draco quietly walked to the stone door, and as expected, Harry's voice rang beside him.
"Are you still angry?"
Harry asked slightly apprehensively.
"What are you angry about?"
"When I asked you about that yesterday, you were so angry that you just left the library, right?"
"Are you sure you want to bring this up again?"
Draco's voice rose at the end, and Harry knew he'd better not bring up the subject of Ginny again.
While talking, the two walked towards the library as if they had made an appointment beforehand.
Soon they arrived at a corner that was familiar to them.
"You haven't been waiting outside the hall all night!"
Draco exclaimed softly the moment Harry took off his invisibility cloak.
The bright dawn light made Harry's frozen face look even more tired.
"The diary was stolen."
Harry was too tired to get straight to the point.
He explained what he saw in the diary last night, his visit to Hagrid, and that the rooster did not die.
Then, she mentioned her negligence in not keeping the diary properly, thinking that she would be criticized more harshly than Hermione.
Draco just listened quietly and sighed.
"Is that why you can't sleep?"
Harry nodded.
"And I felt that I had to tell you as soon as possible, so I went to wait outside your hall."
"Fool."
Draco cursed softly, but there was no blame in it.
"Just tell me when you have a chance during class."
"Let's go have breakfast first. Then go back and have a good sleep."
Seeing that Harry was slow to respond, Draco continued.
"Don't worry, I should know who stole it, it just takes time to prove it."
Before Harry could respond, Draco dragged and pushed him out of the library.
I completely forgot to cover up. Fortunately, people in the library early in the morning usually don't have much interest in campus gossip.
-
For the next two and a half months, there was no snow at Hogwarts.
There have been no attacks since the Christmas holidays.
As a result, Harry and Draco had much less interactions.
Even though they both knew it, the other was still silently searching for traces of the diary.
It seems that everything has returned to normal.
The most unusual one was Hermione.
Besides classes and the library, she began to spend more time with Ginny.
This made Ron feel a little unbalanced, but he couldn't say much.
I thought it would be like this until summer vacation, but the disguised tranquility will always end.
After dinner that day, the students left yawning and laughing.
As the auditorium was about to empty, there was a quiet commotion at the professors' high tables.
Only a very few students saw Hagrid walk out from the spiral staircase on the side of the high table.
He leaned down and whispered to Dumbledore.
Despite the distance, Harry and Draco noticed that Hagrid was carrying a bag on his back.
It's covered with chicken feathers.
The two of them exchanged glances quickly, and hurried back to each other's halls with their own plans.
The four eyes stared at each other for only a moment, but it still did not escape the attention of the third person.
-
Late at night, Draco quietly slipped out of the cellar, intending to head to the corridor where he often wandered in his dreams during the first half of the semester.
Be careful.
Every time I turn a corner, I always take out the small mirror I carry with me to look at myself.
I am afraid that what I see is a shape that cannot be looked at directly.
Just as I was about to turn into the corridor, a dark shadow flashed in the mirror.
Draco shrank back to the wall in fear, but a clear laugh came from the corner.
Cold sweat ran down his forehead.
"Now that you're here, don't be shy."
Draco could tell that the owner of the laughter was also quite frightened, but had more courage than himself to turn his fear into laughter.
She bit her red lips lightly, turned around and walked out of the corner.
In front of me was a girl with curly hair, speaking in a cheerful tone.
"Good night, Draco Malfoy."
I could no longer conceal my surprise.
"Hermione Granger?!"
