Harry Potter: Miss Malfoy

Chapter 55 Late Night Talk

"What happened to you, Draco?"

Severus spoke after a long moment, but he didn't directly answer his own question.

While asking himself this question, his eyes were still narrowed, staring at himself closely.

Somehow, under his gaze, several thoughts flashed through Draco's mind involuntarily.

Including conversations with Riddle in the diary, doubts about the connection between the diary and nightmares, and guilt towards Pansy and Daphne.

The strange thing is that deep down in my heart, I have thought about it but dared not indulge in it.

Seemingly seduced away by Severus' gaze.

For the sake of Pansy and Daphne, she must use her own abilities to find out the culprit who opened the chamber of secrets.

Having made up his mind, he took out the folding fan and placed it lightly in front of his lips.

"No, Professor."

"I was just thinking about the possibility of this kind of magic."

Watch as Severus' eyes grew darker and brighter.

I always feel that maybe he already knows what I am planning.

Severus blinked, lowered his head, raised his china cup, and sipped a little tea.

Draco didn't notice that the man who looked like his godfather in front of him,

In the deepest part of his eyes, there was a hint of satisfaction with his beloved daughter.

Of course, deeper is the worry of return.

"Do what you can. Being brave but not reckless is not Slytherin's specialty."

"If there's any trouble, I'll be here."

Severus said quietly, standing up and leading Draco back to the office door.

As he left the cellar, Draco's lips once again raised the calculating and confident smile he had on the chessboard last year.

-

In the headmaster's office at Hogwarts, after the boy with the lightning scar left,

The old man with a white beard played with the newborn phoenix while pondering Harry's inner thoughts.

Although Harry said nothing, his thoughts were clearly visible to the most astute mind reader.

Harry was worried that he was a Parseltongue, which meant he had Dark wizard blood.

He was also planning to use the Transfiguration Water to sneak into Slytherin and talk to the Malfoy daughter about the information about the Chamber of Secrets.

Thinking about the way Harry came up with at his tender age, the old man couldn't help but smile.

At the same time, a calculating crystal light flashed behind the half-moon-shaped lens.

At least, everything is on track.

The key is whether that man will do what he wishes and push it out himself.

While Dumbledore was deep in thought, the oval door opened and a dark shadow broke in, interrupting his thoughts.

"Ah Severus."

"It's rare that I can feel your emotions even when my back is turned to you."

The news brought such a calm and wise man that his right hand trembled.

"I've already hinted to Draco."

"What on earth are you planning, Dumbledore?"

The old man laughed out loud, turned around and looked at the dark man in front of him with a smile.

"I wonder if Bertie's All Flavor Beans have a Phoenix Ash flavor."

"If not, maybe I should send them a sample."

"What do you think?"

"I'm not sure this is the best time to be talking nonsense."

Unfortunately, Severus, as always, had no appreciation for humor.

"What do you want me to say, Severus?"

"You know what I'm talking to you about."

Dumbledore lowered his head and looked at the man in front of him through the lenses.

"I have no ideas, Severus."

"I tried to find it fifty years ago."

"I don't know where the chamber is, or how to open it."

"That's not it, Dumbledore."

Faced with Dumbledore's calmness, Snape gritted his teeth.

"What I want to talk about is that diary."

"Ah! You should have told me sooner, Severus."

"You know, older people tend to get stuck in their own memories."

Dumbledore said, seeing Snape's anger clearly in front of him.

He suppressed his relaxed expression and looked solemn, but he couldn't help smiling in his heart.

"Well, let's get back to business. Would you like to tell me what you found out?"

"The Dark Lord's diary seems to have its own consciousness."

"Draco often communicated with it in writing, and gradually, he began to have nightmares of wandering around the corridors."

Snape said, his dark eyes glaring at Dumbledore.

He did not forget that it was the headmaster in front of him who instigated him to let the Malfoy family's house-elf replace the diary.

"Let me guess, attacks from the Chamber of Secrets often occur with nightmares?"

Dumbledore asked quietly and Snape nodded.

Then, Dumbledore slowly leaned back on his desk.

"I always knew who opened the Chamber of Secrets, Severus."

"What I'm not sure about is how he opened it this time."

"Do you think he's back in school, like last year?"

"No, it's different than last year."

"As to whether he is in school..."

"Maybe there, maybe not."

Dumbledore hesitated, muttering to himself in riddles.

Snape frowned, knowing Dumbledore's temper and not wanting to spend any more time guessing what the headmaster was thinking.

"Malfoy children, what do you think?"

“She started to doubt.”

"I speculate that the diary, nightmares, and secret rooms may be related."

"I even began to suspect that I might have been controlled by the diary and opened the secret room."

Dumbledore listened in silence, with a light flashing from time to time behind his lenses.

Snape took a deep breath, suppressed his anger, and continued speaking.

"I did as you said and gave her a hint."

"She'll want to investigate the diary's connection to the Chamber of Secrets herself."

"and then?"

"Draco seemed determined to take advantage of this possibility."

"Use yourself as bait to test the diary's intentions."

Dumbledore's spectacles glowed with approval.

"We seem to have a very impressive class, Severus."

"I am very grateful that you are willing to accept my advice."

"It was me who suggested that you try to accept the Malfoy family's daughter. Have you forgotten?"

"I have not forgotten, my dear Severus."

"But I must say again, I am very grateful to you."

Dumbledore paused and asked curiously.

"You didn't take the diary back from her. So, you're willing to let her take the risk?"

"I'm a little unsure. That's why I came to you."

"You want to protect her, but you also want to watch her grow?"

Watching Snape nod hastily, Dumbledore sat down again, looking much more relaxed.

"Harry Potter was here just now."

"is it?"

"He's also looking for the Chamber of Secrets."

"Before you came, I felt the same way as you."

"The implication is that I easily changed Albus Dumbledore's mood?"

"That might be worth making a note of."

"Yeah, as I get older, that's not something many people can do."

"Severus, wouldn't it be interesting if these two children joined forces?"

"I myself would like to see how they will solve this matter."

Snape was not so relaxed.

"So you don't want to get involved?"

"Even though there might be other students being attacked,"

"Even though Potter and Draco might be at risk of death?"

Dumbledore shook his head.

"With your help, this won't happen."

"Besides..."

Dumbledore hesitated, glanced at Snape, and cleverly changed the subject.

"We need them to master the methods of entering and exiting the Chamber, don't we?"

He stared at Snape intently and added.

"I'll arrange it and make sure Harry and Draco are okay."

"Also, the two children from your academy, the Parkinson and Greengrass children."

"They should be able to go home for Christmas."

Snape understood that Dumbledore was hiding something.

But the tacit understanding of more than ten years told me that it would be futile to ask further.

Dumbledore would only reveal his intentions when the time was right.

Anyway, the purpose of the visit has been achieved.

After getting Dumbledore's assurance of Draco's safety, Snape turned and left.

After confirming that Snape had left, the old wise man walked towards the newly born Phoenix.

"It seems like we can have a great start."

"I never thought that there would be so many opportunities for these two children to practice..."

"Next, I'm going to trouble you, Fox."

In the ashes, the phoenix chicks chirped triumphantly.

It awakened the memories that were originally spiraling peacefully in the meditation basin next to the cupboard not far away.

A woman with big round-framed glasses, bulging eyes and messy hair was twitching and whispering.
