Harry Potter: Miss Malfoy

Chapter 41 The Worst Start of School

The news that Harry and Ron had missed the express spread throughout the hall shortly after the Sorting ceremony began.

Especially after Snape walked into the hall with a smile and invited Professor McGonagall to leave.

Professor McGonagall had just left, and Professor Dumbledore briefly introduced Lockhart and quickly left.

The remaining students must spend the entire dinner time.

Listen to Lockhart recount his great achievements and his proud smile from time to time.

"I hate Harry Potter."

"Why did you go and cause trouble for no reason? You made us stay here and listen to this idiot talk!"

Pansy declared, nearly breaking down, after Lockhart had bared his teeth for the umpteenth time.

Daphne was busy covering her face with her hands, trying to hide her impatience, and had no time to remind Pansy to be careful with her words.

Draco could not help but look at Lockhart coldly, thinking about how to write a letter to his father and ask him to expel this lunatic from the school.

This was the most miserable back-to-school dinner I had.

It was not until the next morning, before the Charms class, that they heard at the breakfast table that Harry and Ron could not enter Platform 9 3/4 for some reason, so they decided to drive the speeder straight to the campus.

Then, he crashed the car into the Whomping Willow, which was located between the castle and the Forbidden Forest.

The rumors that spread wildly on campus were soon confirmed by a roaring letter sent by Mrs. Weasley to Ron.

In the restaurant, Mrs. Weasley's hysterical roar echoed -

"I wouldn't be surprised if you got fired for stealing the car!"

"Just wait and see how I'm going to punish you after I catch you..."

"Your father nearly died of shame... How disgusting!"

Draco sighed and looked coldly at the Gryffindor table.

Ron's face turned pale, and Harry also looked ashamed.

At the end of last year, the disgust towards Ron, which had finally calmed down a little on the chessboard, was rekindled.

I can't believe how stupid someone must be to choose to drive a speeding car into a campus.

Of course, he was also annoyed with Harry. It was obvious that he had completely become tainted by the Weasley family's mediocre education.

But what made him even more unhappy was Professor Dumbledore and Mr. and Mrs. Weasley.

Just as Granger said, the school can perfectly grasp the whereabouts of students throughout the summer vacation, so how come it is suddenly unable to confirm whether any students missed the express train during the school term?

Besides, what incompetent parents must the Weasleys be to not notice at the first moment that their child was blocked from the platform?

How irresponsible must one be to not think of proactively informing the school that their child didn't get on the train, but instead just publicly scolded and humiliated them afterwards?

The Weasley family's farce made me extremely irritated in the morning.

Draco's chaotic rage reached its peak as he entered the Charms classroom.

Lockhart put on a silk and silver robe with exaggerated lotus sleeves and stood arrogantly next to the short and hopeless Professor Flitwick.

"Welcome! Students of Slytherin!"

"Don't worry, you're not in the wrong classroom. This is indeed Charms."

"But for two reasons, you are lucky to have that legendary figure—"

Lockhart spoke impatiently, while urging the noisy Slytherin students to take their seats.

At the same time he gestured in the air with his right hand in a dramatic manner, pointing it towards himself.

"The legend who bewitched witches and banshees with his smile, wandered the world with demons and werewolves, and accompanied vampires and snowmen—"

"I, the magical Kidro Lockhart, am here to start the new semester for you."

Lockhart paused, looked at the expressionless students, and smiled his signature smile smugly.

"Surprised? I don't think so. I'm sure you've read my autobiography and know that—"

"I was so close to being in Slytherin."

"Unfortunately, my extraordinary wisdom made it difficult for Ravenclaw to abandon me, so I had to make the decision reluctantly."

"Of course, I'm not saying this to show off, but to give children a chance to get a glimpse of the misfortune of genius."

Lockhart looked at the audience who had no reaction, locked his eyes on Draco, whose face was livid, and blinked his right eye in a way he thought was very charming.

"Let's get back to the point! Returning to my alma mater to contribute has been something I've been thinking about for a long time."

“Finally I decided what better place to start than by improving the teaching of my old mentor?”

"So, admire the magic of fate, dear children."

"It is my fate with Slytherin and Professor Flitwick that has made you so lucky—"

"professor."

Lockhart kept talking nonsense, and Draco finally stood up impatiently, with Professor Flitwick looking for help.

"Oh, don't interrupt me, lovely lady."

"I know there will always be people who try to attract my attention by behaving in a rude manner, but—"

Lockhart continued to talk as usual, not noticing the sound of Draco breaking his folding fan.

"professor."

"This woman—"

Lockhart seemed a little dissatisfied with being interrupted repeatedly, until Draco spoke slowly and steadily, he became quiet.

"I just wanted to remind you that Harry Potter will be heading to the greenhouse for his class, Herbology taught by Professor Sprout."

Seeing Lockhart stunned by Harry's name, Draco felt a mischievous smile in his heart.

When she spoke again, her delicate voice was clear and pleasant, her smart eyes twinkled, and her platinum hair swayed with her figure.

"Harry Potter will never forget the photo with you that was on the cover of the Daily Prophet."

"He has been thinking about how to get your attention and have another chance to take a photo with you."

"To do this, you even broke the law and drove into the school, professor."

"Perhaps, a celebrity like you would like to help this child cursed by fame?"

Draco said this sincerely, while Pansy, who was standing beside him, was already lying on the table trying not to laugh.

Daphne covered her mouth with one hand and gently patted Pansy's back with the other.

There was constant encouragement and appreciation in Professor Flitwick's eyes.

After hearing this, Lockhart rushed out of the Charms classroom without hesitation.

When the classroom door closed, the Slytherin students cheered.

Draco turned around proudly and responded with a court salute.

Draco's new semester officially began with Professor Flitwick shouting "Twenty points for Slytherin!"

Naturally, she had no idea how Harry was caught by Lockhart before the Herbology class and was forced to learn the celebrity mentality lesson for more than ten minutes.

-

After a tiring day, I returned to the dormitory.

After finally washing up, he got rid of Pansy's questioning of how he knew the Gryffindor schedule.

He arranged the textbooks a little, and placed the ink bottle and the feather pen made from white peacock tail feathers at home on the desk in order.

I just discovered that there was an old booklet wrapped in rough cowhide among my notes.

It looks out of place among a stack of finely crafted notes.

Unless it is parchment, the Malfoy family will specially entrust even the pulp for letter paper to a paper mill in Italy that has been serving the family since the 17th century.

On a whim, Draco put on the glasses Pansy gave him, blushed slightly, and curiously opened the mottled and worn booklet.

Only then did I realize that it was an old blank diary.

Confusedly, he touched the tip of the pen and used his left hand to comb the fallen hair behind his ear.

As if talking to himself, he wrote down these doubtful words.

Whose diary are you? Why are you here?

Originally, I just wrote a few lines of text.

But I was amazed at how smoothly the aged paper absorbed the ink, and how smoothly the pen tip slid over the rough surface.

He was surprised for a moment, then frowned at the changes in the diary.

The traces of words disappeared.

Then, a handwriting that did not belong to him appeared.

Tom Riddle.

This is my diary.
