Harry Potter: Miss Malfoy
Chapter 17 Midnight Duel Part
"Are you really going, Draco?"
"It shouldn't be that serious."
"Yes. Besides, with your current magical powers, it is impossible for you to hurt each other."
As the time was almost up, Draco stood up and gently put on his cloak. Pansy and Daphne could not help but persuade him politely.
They are all powerful magical families, and of course they have heard many legendary duel stories since childhood.
A duel without a deputy means that both parties will fight to the death.
Let the dispute end with the death of the duelists, putting an end to the will to fight to the death.
This was also often the way that wizarding families dealt with insults and reputational damage in the Middle Ages.
"Of course I know. But this time he really went too far."
"Even if he only knows basic magic, you still have to teach him a lesson."
Draco said, preparing to step out of the door, but Pansy continued.
"But he does have a point, doesn't he?"
"You do curse at the Weasleys quite often."
Draco looked at Pansy in surprise, and she looked back at him without fear.
Daphne looked a little nervous, frowning, ready to intervene in the argument that was about to break out between the two.
"Parkinson."
"Go back to your own bedroom and sleep."
Finally, Draco spoke unconvinced and quietly walked out of the room.
Of course I understand deep down that my best friend's advice does make some sense.
But every time I think about how Harry Potter went astray because of his friendship with the Weasley family, I can't help but feel angry.
He rushed out of the deserted lounge and headed towards the trophy display room on the third floor of the castle.
Hiding in the showroom, in a dark corner near the door.
He clenched his wand tightly and silently memorized the spells that Severus had taught him when he was a child.
Waiting for the arrival of the most unbearable enemy in this life so far.
But when the footsteps became louder, he narrowed his eyes in disbelief.
Along with the footsteps came the voices of several different people.
They all lowered their voices, but in the empty corridor, they were still loud enough to cause an echo.
"Is your arm feeling better?"
"It's completely healed. It only took Madam Pomfrey a minute to completely heal it."
"Uh, Neville, could you please wait outside for a minute, we need to—"
"Don't leave me! I don't want to be out here alone..."
"I've seen the Bloody Baron twice tonight, and I can't bring myself to..."
The conversation between Harry Potter, Weasley and Longbottom was unusually clear in the echo.
Draco cursed in his heart, they had clearly agreed to duel alone, so why did he bring so many helpers?
But what was even more surprising was the angry female voice that followed.
"Hush! Keep your voice down, you idiots."
"No matter which of you got us caught,"
"Even if I die from exhaustion, I will learn Professor Quirrell's evil ghost curse to curse you."
I don't understand why even Hermione Granger was involved.
As the four people walked in, Draco looked quietly at the trophy display case. The various silver shields and gold plates reflected the four people's reflections, and slowly adjusted his breathing.
At the same time, he was also simulating how to resist if he was attacked by four people as soon as he showed up.
"Malfoy is late. Maybe he was too scared to come."
Weasley paused, speaking thoughtfully.
Draco was so angry that his knuckles hurt from clenching his wand.
"Miss, I have been here all the time—"
"what!!!!!"
He slowly walked out from the corner, imitating Severus's grim tone.
Before he could finish his words, Longbottom was frightened by the cold female voice that suddenly appeared in the middle of the night and screamed loudly.
Draco and Hermione frowned in unison and raised their wands.
-
"'Completely? Petrified!'"
The spell was chanted along with two female voices, and Neville stopped screaming and fell to the ground stiffly like a stone statue.
Harry and Ron both showed expressions of surprise, mixed with a bit of fear.
Draco and Hermione frowned and looked at each other.
They were both obviously surprised that the other knew how to cast this spell.
"horse…"
"Shh!"
Harry had just recovered from his shock and had no time to argue with Draco when he was interrupted by Draco's gesture.
Another eerie sound was heard in the corridor.
"Smell carefully, dear, that scream just now must be a student escaping here."
The caretaker Filch spoke gloomily, dragging his feet, and his conversation with his beloved cat, Mrs. Naris, seemed gloomy.
Ron was terrified, while Hermione was busy looking around, then pointed to the wooden door in the opposite direction of Filch as if she had been saved.
Draco glared at Harry and pointed at Neville who was lying unable to move on the ground, signaling him and Ron to be responsible for carrying the boy with a frightened look in his eyes.
Harry was about to protest silently, but after Draco glared at him and pointed at the door that Filch was getting closer to,
He lowered his head obediently, and together with Ron, he carried Neville, who was a little too heavy.
I just slipped out of the corridor, thinking I could tiptoe away from the showroom.
But it was not known whether it was Harry or Ron who lost his balance and slammed Neville hard into the armor beside the corridor.
There was a loud clanging noise in the corridor, and Draco and Hermione quickly turned around and silently cursed the clumsy boys.
Then, under the leadership of Hermione, they ran like headless flies.
Originally intending to hide behind a tapestry covering the entire stone wall, a group of people accidentally fell into a secret door.
When I fell out of the corridor on the other side, there was a dead end in front of me, except for an old wooden door.
To make matters worse, the secret door had not yet been completely locked, and Mrs. Naris's cat was approaching, seeming to have already slipped into the gap.
"How to do how to do!"
"It's all because of you two using the wrong spell!"
Ron had a sad face, jumped up and down and complained in a low voice.
"Open that door quickly!"
Harry couldn't help but urge him repeatedly, causing Draco to turn around and glare at him.
"You think I don't want to? It's locked!"
He grasped the door handle with his slightly sweaty palm, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't open the door.
"Oh, get out of the way!"
Hermione pushed herself away and tapped the door handle with her wand.
"Open the Alaho hole!"
The wooden door opened with a click, and the four of them, along with Neville, quickly slipped in.
The boys laid Neville across the wooden door to act as a doorstop.
Harry and Draco, Hermione and Ron stood on either side of the wooden door and pulled it shut heavily.
Draco half-knelt in front of Harry, and was so nervous that he didn't notice that he put his hands on his shoulders to balance himself.
I gently put my ear against the door and could vaguely hear Mrs. Naris's meowing coming from outside.
"Here? Darling? Are you sure?"
"But there's no one here. No student would dare to come here."
Filch's voice arrived slowly, his tone very annoyed.
Draco guessed that maybe he was just staring at the wooden door, not knowing what to do.
After a while, Mrs. Lola's cat's meow became fainter, perhaps it had followed Filch's dragging steps away.
"ah!"
Draco had just felt relieved when he felt a sharp pain in his right shoulder.
Only then did he realize that Harry Potter's right palm was squeezing him tightly, and he couldn't help but yell at him.
"It hurts! What are you doing—!"
He turned around before he could finish his words, but was so frightened by the scene before him that he could hardly speak.
From the corner of my eye, I saw Ron and Hermione were so scared that their faces were pale and they were holding each other tightly.
Surprisingly, although Harry was also full of fear, he stood firmly in front of him.
What was before them was not a secret room, but another bottomless corridor.
Professor Dumbledore had warned that entry to the corridor on the third floor was forbidden.
Right in front of the group of people stood a three-headed dog with a ferocious look and as tall as a hill.
The six blood-red beasts' eyes were wide open, and they were breathing heavily with their smelly mouths, drooling with sticky saliva.
Draco was still half squatting, and he subconsciously raised his head to meet Harry's eyes, who had just lowered his head.
The inexplicable tacit understanding in the critical moment made the two of them understand in an instant.
The three-headed dog did not launch an attack because the intruder appeared too suddenly and it was unable to react.
The four people across the door looked at each other, and somehow, they suddenly took action.
Ron and Hermione quickly lowered their heads and grabbed Neville's feet respectively.
Draco jumped up and held the door tightly.
The moment Harry took Neville's hands, he pushed the door open.
The group fell out of the door again.
The four of them didn't dare to breathe any longer. They jumped up again and pushed against the sealed door with all their might.
Fortunately, although the wooden door was old, it was at least thick enough to block the three-headed dog's scratching and barking.
After confirming that it was safe, I temporarily did not have the strength to continue fleeing.
They both leaned against the door, gasping for breath. After a moment, Harry spoke as if nothing had happened.
"Let's just forget about the duel, right?"
"Shall we...go back and rest first?"
Having said that, without waiting for Draco's response, he and Ron helped Neville, who had regained some consciousness, and prepared to leave.
Granger snorted angrily and left without looking back.
The figure was walking away, staggering because of the violent trembling.
-
Draco listened to his heart beating wildly, and struggled to prop himself up against the door.
He had just taken two steps when his legs suddenly went weak and he fell to the ground with a thud.
Harry turned around when he heard the voice and looked at himself in surprise.
"You...you...this lady..."
Looking at Harry Potter's expression, Draco felt embarrassed and anxious.
He spoke hesitantly, hoping that he could leave with Weasley and Longbottom as soon as possible.
But she listened to Harry speaking with fear in her heart.
"Ron, take Neville back first."
"But she—"
"It's okay, hurry up."
He helplessly watched Weasley and Longbottom go away, and glared hatefully at the boy who was walking towards him.
"Let me help you."
Harry ignored his gaze, squatted down, and stretched out his hand, his tone very reluctant.
Draco bit his lip and tried to stand up, but he had no strength to do anything.
She could only let him help her weak body up while protesting angrily.
"I don't need your help, Potter."
"Whatever you say, Malfoy."
