Harry Potter: Miss Malfoy
Chapter 16 Midnight Duel
"It's Malfoy's fault! Professor McGonagall, she was the one who provoked first..."
"Don't lie! Draco just picked up the ball. Potter was the first to threaten..."
"That's enough, Mr. Weasley, Miss Parkinson."
"Potter, Malfoy, follow me."
As soon as they saw Professor McGonagall's angry figure, Ron and Pansy hurriedly explained.
Professor McGonagall was naturally unmoved and just stopped the two of them.
He turned around and was about to lead Draco and Harry away from the grassland where they had flying lessons.
Draco looked at Pansy and Daphne's worried expressions in panic.
Then she lowered her head, lightly kissed her lower lip, endured the tears in her eyes, and slowly followed Professor McGonagall in her emerald green robe.
My chest was pounding and my fingertips were cold.
The threat that Madam Hooch made when she took Longbottom away seemed to echo in my ears.
If anyone dares to try flying secretly, I guarantee that they will be expelled from Hogwarts before you ever see Quidditch!
I could vaguely imagine how disappointed my parents would be when they received the notice of expulsion.
She raised her head in annoyance, pouted her lips, and glared at the boy next to her with full of blame.
If he hadn't falsely accused me of wanting to steal the Memory Ball, how could I have been so angry?
The mixture of confusion and anger made my chest slowly go numb.
Looking at the culprit who was as dejected as himself, he suddenly realized that Harry Potter's face was deathly pale.
Then I remembered, after being expelled, he would be sent back to a Muggle family, right?
Seeing that he was still wearing jeans that didn't fit him and had the legs rolled up under his fitted robe, I couldn't help but feel a little sympathetic.
He was obviously not very happy in his Muggle family.
I still felt a little reluctant, and the momentary sympathy disappeared the moment those emerald green eyes glared back at me.
"You deserve it. You made the wrong friends."
She complained quietly, but she was even more annoyed by Weasley's appearance.
It was this family that squandered all its wealth and brought shame to wizards, and ruined the legend of the wizarding world.
"It's obviously your fault, don't drag Ron into this."
When I was secretly cursing the Weasley family in my heart, Harry Potter's whisper suddenly came into my ears.
I couldn't believe what this idiot just said.
He turned around in surprise and glared at me, and he was also looking at me angrily through his round-frame lenses.
There was a sudden buzz in my mind, and I stopped, crossing my hands over my chest.
"That's enough, you two."
Just as they were about to explode, Professor McGonagall warned them and they turned their heads away.
Until they stepped onto the steps of the castle gate, neither of them looked at each other again.
The door opened, but Professor McGonagall suddenly stopped in front of the entrance hall.
"uh-huh."
With a few awkward clearings of her throat, Professor McGonagall hesitated for a moment before turning around.
"Malfoy, you are a Slytherin student. Leave it to Professor Snape to deal with you."
"I have already reported what you did to him. You can go to his office to find him. He is waiting for you."
Professor McGonagall looked at herself, her eyes vague for some reason.
"Go! What are you still doing here?"
"As for you, Potter. You come with me."
As soon as Professor McGonagall finished speaking, without waiting for Draco to move,
He quickly led Harry around the corner and up the staircase on the other side of the entrance hall.
Draco was left alone, watching the two men leave in confusion.
He stood there for a moment before quietly walking down to the cellar in confusion.
-
"come in."
He knocked gently on the wooden door of the cellar, and stepped into the office of the Potions Professor amid Severus' lazy whisper.
The stone room was dark, with only the faint flickering light from the candlesticks in the four corners and the candle on the desk.
The flames in the fireplace went out, but in the middle of the office, there were several large cauldrons boiling potions, which created a warm atmosphere.
It was still sunny outside the castle,
As soon as I stepped into Severus' office, my mood became as calm and silent as if I were captured by the night velvet.
"Draco? Aren't you supposed to be taking flying lessons?"
Severus looked up and was surprised to see Draco.
He stood up from the desk and led Draco to the fireplace.
With a flick of the magic wand, the fireplace instantly lit up with a soft, heart-warming flame.
Severus waved his hand, motioning Draco to sit in the opposite armchair with him.
"Professor McGonagall said you had something to ask me. Professor Snape."
Draco said tremblingly.
Although my elders have treated me like a father since I was a child, I always adhere to proper etiquette at school.
Listening to my own voice, I was surprised to find that the words I spoke were much trembling than I had imagined.
"When you're alone, you can call me Severus, just like at home, Draco."
Severus spoke lazily, then pressed the issue.
"I have nothing to ask you. But why did Professor McGonagall say that?"
Draco frowned in confusion at Severus' words.
Could it be that Professor McGonagall did not tell Severus about her dispute with Harry Potter?
Why would she be so tolerant when she is always strict and never partial?
Looking into Severus' bright dark eyes, Draco hesitated for a moment.
He told Harry Potter everything about the dispute he had with him during the flying lesson.
After listening to this, Severus stood up without saying a word.
He walked to the fire, slowly crossed the sleeves of his robe over his chest, and watched the flames flicker.
Draco always felt that there was a hint of mockery in his eyes, and the corners of his mouth were slightly raised.
But at least, the atmosphere in the office allows me to slowly convince myself that
He would definitely not be expelled from Hogwarts because of this nonsense.
"S...Professor Snape?"
With a somewhat uncertain call, she listened to Severus's slow response.
"Draco, would you like to join the Quidditch team?"
Severus asked slowly, and Draco widened his crystal eyes suspiciously.
"I thought that it would be after the second grade that I could..."
"That's generally true, but I think some people may have lost their grace."
Severus said this, and Draco was sure that he was grinning in pleasure.
Although, it’s not quite clear why.
"Would you be interested, as a surprise for Professor McGonagall?"
At Severus' question, he slowly shook his head.
"I thought so. You've always loved sightseeing flights."
"I guess that's what she calculated."
Severus said, sneering a few times when mentioning Professor McGonagall's calculations.
Then, the tone of voice returned to the warm reminder that only appeared in the manor and had never been heard in school.
"That's all right, Draco."
"It's just that, as an academy instructor, I have the responsibility to remind you."
"Don't take Potter too seriously, he's not worth your time."
After saying the last sentence, he looked at himself in an unfathomable way.
"I...I don't care too much!"
Somehow, being looked at by Severus made me feel a little annoyed.
I was busy explaining, but I always felt that he was totally not listening.
"That's for the best. Go and get some rest. It's been a great first week."
As expected, the father gave a perfunctory response to appease his capricious daughter.
Draco pouted and turned to walk out of the cellar.
-
"So... Professor Snape has no intention of punishing me at all?"
"And Professor McGonagall is just pretending to be fierce, but has other ideas?"
As they walked into the restaurant to enjoy dinner, Pansy and Daphne were still pondering the mystery that had troubled them all afternoon.
"I'm not sure what Professor McGonagall is planning."
"But we will soon find out whether she has punished Potter or not."
Draco responded.
When entering the Great Hall, I deliberately walked along the aisle near the Gryffindor table.
Harry Potter was surrounded by several senior students, including the older Weasley twins.
They were whispering about some secret, and their faces were somewhat excited.
Apparently, Porter wasn't punished either.
I had just taken a few steps closer when the senior students, led by the Weasley brothers, dispersed.
Ron Weasley was left in stunned awe.
Harry Potter's gaze followed the departing twins and moved to himself.
Without saying a word, they were already silently competing with each other.
"So, you're not about to take the train back to the Muggle world yet, Potter?"
He spoke coldly, letting the ridicule cover his question.
"You are much braver now, you loser who ran away."
Unexpectedly, what he got in return was ridicule from the Gryffindor freshmen.
Her eyes widened as she stared at Harry Potter's rudeness, and she remembered Severus's earlier warning.
I suppressed my temper and shook my head fiercely.
Hearing the fluttering hair accidentally hit Porter's cheek, it intersected with the lenses and made a slight sound.
"Hey! Apologize to me!"
Harry cried out in pain and shouted in anger.
Draco just turned around and glared at him coldly, then left without paying any attention.
"It seems that having two more companions around you didn't give you much courage."
"A coward with no manners who can only run away with his tail between his legs!"
After taking a few steps, I heard Potter's criticism of me and my parents.
Before he could react, he had already turned around and rushed in front of Harry.
"What did you just scold me for?"
His chest rose and fell with his rapid breathing, and his face was hot with anger.
"I-"
"The Malfoy family's tutors are not allowed to be commented on by... rude people like you!"
"How dare you...how dare you slander me, how dare you insult the Malfoy family, Potter?"
I was so angry that I was breathless when I spoke.
"So what? Don't you curse Ron and Neville's family all the time?"
Harry Potter just showed a stubborn look of fussing over nothing, which made Draco even more angry and almost fainted.
The pretty figure was trembling with anger, pursed her lips, and couldn't speak for a long time.
After a while, he spoke coldly through gritted teeth.
"My lady demands a duel, Potter."
"For the honor of the Malfoy family, an honest wizard duel."
I suppose, no matter how ignorant you are, you have heard of wizard duels, right? "
His breathing was still rapid, and he ignored Pansy's wide eyes and Daphne's palm covering her lips.
"Of course he has heard of it. I am his deputy. Who do you choose as your deputy?"
It was Weasley who interrupted Harry.
Draco just gave him a disdainful look, then looked directly at Harry and responded coldly.
"This concerns the family's reputation, how can you have a deputy?"
"Tonight at midnight, in the Trophy Room. It's never locked."
As soon as he finished speaking, he walked back to the Slytherin table in anger.
Pansy and Daphne just sat quietly beside him.
Faced with her furious best friend, she just tried to comfort him and was unwilling to say anything about the proposal for a duel.
until midnight.
