Harry Potter: Miss Malfoy
Chapter 12: Memory Ball and Flying Lesson 1 (Harry Potter is just a name!)
"It's not fair! Why am I the only one in the other dormitory?!"
Pansy's complaints at the first breakfast at Hogwarts.
It masked the aroma of muffin dough and the wisps of steam from breakfast tea.
"If you are unhappy, you can go to Professor Snape to protest."
Seeing Pansy complaining in frustration, Draco tried to hold back his laughter and made a suggestion with a straight face.
"Ms. Malfoy, the heartless..."
Pansy glanced at the high table where Professor Snape was dining.
She leaned over the long table, pouting, burying her face in her arms and complaining softly.
Seeing Pansy so depressed, Draco and Daphne looked at each other with a smile.
As soon as Draco and the other two appeared in the restaurant, they attracted a lot of curious eyes.
After all, the Malfoys were one of the most important families in the wizarding world, and being close to Draco meant that Pansy and Daphne quickly became the talk of the school.
Pansy's depressed look naturally caught the surprised eyes of many students.
Some people thought that the traditional daughters of wealthy families from the sacred twenty-eight surnames would not easily show their emotions in front of outsiders.
"Don't be sad, except for sleeping, we are still together all the time."
Daphne was originally a little uncomfortable because Pansy ignored table manners.
Now I just pat my relatives and friends gently and comfort them softly.
"But I just want to be in the same room with you guys."
Pansy said this with a slightly depressed tone.
"Let me ask for you..."
Draco could only speak with a helpless smile, while coldly glaring away several pairs of eyes that kept stealing glances at him.
Before he could finish his words, they were drowned out by the noise coming from the restaurant.
"Is he here?"
"I see it! It's that one! Next to the tall red-haired guy!"
"Is it the one wearing glasses?"
"Did you see his scar?"
The voice was so excited that even Pansy looked up and looked towards the restaurant entrance along with Daphne.
"Harry Potter again?" Draco asked in a cold tone without turning back.
"It seems that he and the Weasleys are coming for breakfast."
Before Pansy finished explaining, Draco stood up.
"I can't eat anymore. I'll go back and prepare for class."
Before Pansy and Daphne could react, he walked straight to the restaurant door.
He coughed impatiently in front of the crowd that was blocking traffic as they rushed to see Harry.
After the students made way for him, he quickly walked past, muttering to himself, leaving behind some words that instantly froze the lively atmosphere.
"Tacky."
-
Although Draco's first week of classes at Hogwarts was more difficult than he had imagined, it was not without rewards.
With some impatience, I discovered that many teachers, like the students, had excited reactions to Harry Potter's arrival that were not in line with their status as teachers.
For example, the Charms class, which he had been looking forward to eagerly, instantly became his least favorite course after Professor Flitwick called Harry Potter's name and he fell off the podium in excitement.
If Professor Flitwick hadn't repeatedly emphasized in the following lessons,
The key to successfully casting a spell is not to wave the wand blindly, but to first understand the principles of the spell.
Draco almost put Charms in a lower position than History of Magic in his mind.
"Understand magic, don't just rely on the wand" -
This is the secret that Severus taught me since I was a child.
Professor Flitwick, apparently, had a similar view.
Although at the end of the course, students will take out their wands and practice casting spells.
But most of the course was spent just understanding how to chant the spells and wave the wand to effectively use magic.
Draco soon discovered that some professors' performance made it unclear why they were qualified to teach at Hogwarts.
This is the Defense Against the Dark Arts class that Pansy was most looking forward to.
Professor Quirrell's face turned pale at every turn, but he just swore to tell his adventure stories.
But they never seriously explain what black magic is and how students can resist it.
But on the other hand, some professors' words are full of wisdom and their abilities should not be underestimated.
Flitwick was like that, even though he rolled his eyes a lot at Harry Potter's reaction, but still...
The same is true for Professor McGonagall, who teaches Transfiguration (and is also the head of Gryffindor).
Unlike Professor Flitwick, who was gentle and reasonable, Professor McGonagall sternly warned the students as soon as she entered the classroom.
"Transfiguration is the most complex and dangerous type of magic you will learn at Hogwarts."
"Anyone who slacks off during class will be asked to leave immediately and will never be allowed to enter my classroom again."
Then, he clicked his magic wand and turned the podium into a pig.
This made Pansy and Daphne very happy.
Draco, however, just concentrated on taking notes, secretly disagreeing in his heart.
Severus also said that the most complex and dangerous course is Potions.
Compared to the always strict Professor McGonagall, he obviously agreed more with Severus's declaration.
When the bell rang and the Transfiguration class ended, Draco finally confirmed the biggest gain of the week.
In the first exercise of trying to turn matches into sewing needles, I was the only Slytherin student who successfully turned the match fire into a needle tip.
Still upset about his failure, he received a rare compliment from Professor McGonagall:
Slytherin received five points for his outstanding performance.
As a result, Draco became the first freshman to earn points for Slytherin.
After the course was over, many freshmen came up to me happily.
Daphne and Pansy just smiled silently.
Draco looked at them and winked playfully.
Obviously, they both understood that for Draco, becoming the main freshman to fight for points in the College Cup was just a matter of course.
What really made me happy about Professor McGonagall's praise was that I got valuable information.
Apparently, the only girl in the whole grade who had successfully transfigured a match was a girl named Hermione Granger from Gryffindor.
The famous Harry Potter, it seems, is just a name in vain.
"You're very proud, right? It looks like you've defeated Harry Potter?"
Pansy whispered pleasantly into Draco's ear on the way back to the common room.
"We'll be able to see it for ourselves in Potions class tomorrow, won't we?"
Draco said calmly, trying to suppress the joy in his heart.
Although from Professor McGonagall's implicit suggestion, Harry Potter's performance was merely mediocre, one still needed to see it with one's own eyes to confirm that he was not a cause for concern.
Then, he couldn't help but frowned.
"Indeed..."
Before she could say anything, Daphne took over the conversation.
"The girl called Granger?"
"She seems to be really amazing. Everyone is talking about her."
"It's just that she doesn't seem to be very popular..."
Draco turned his head, his eyes widened in surprise.
I never thought Daphne would be so interested in gossip among students.
Daphne seemed to notice Draco's surprise, and with a hint of shyness on her face, she explained softly.
"Everyone is afraid of you and Pansy, so they talk to me..."
"Yes, yes, everyone likes the gentlest Miss Greengrass the most."
“Ah………!!!”
Pansy pinched Daphne's cheeks and said something teasing, and Daphne could only protest helplessly.
