Chapter 383 First-hand Information about Horcruxes
"Afro!" Ron shouted with a red face, attracting the attention of the entire greenhouse.
Professor Sprout hurried over to them. "What happened?"
Ron was frightened by the professor's sudden words, and his hand loosened. The pod flew out from under his hand and hit Professor Sprout's hat.
The greenhouse was deathly silent.
"Sorry..." Ron smiled awkwardly and hurriedly picked up the pods that fell on the ground.
Fortunately, Professor Sprout was always kind and didn't deduct their school points. But he didn't treat them well either.
Afro quickly took out the "Encyclopedia of Carnivorous Trees" and found the correct way to deal with the pods. "You can invite guests to the dinner party. I wanted to take you with me."
Ron's voice changed completely, and he repeated incredulously, "You want to invite me?"
"Yes, but since you think the dinner is so boring, I will be merciful and let you go."
Harry suddenly wished that the pod in his hand would fly right into Ron's face so that he wouldn't have to listen to them anymore.
"No, Afro." Ron said in a very soft voice, "I want to go...if you need me..."
Harry tapped the pod with a spade, as if he were tapping Ron on the head.
In his heart, he still hoped that Ron would not agree, so that the Christmas dinner could be counted as a date between him and Afro.
There are advantages to looking at the dinner this way.
But if Ron goes too, he'll have one more rival for boyfriends or girlfriends.
Harry scooped at it and the pods didn't break, but the bowl did.
"Give it to me." Afro's attention was drawn to the voice. She reached out to take the pod and raised a pair of scissors. "The book says that you can just poke it with a sharp object."
Harry silently used a spell to restore the bowl to its original state, then stood beside Afro and watched her operate it.
They did not mention Slughorn's dinner again until the end of the get out of class.
As Katie still needs to receive treatment in the school infirmary, Harry's newly formed Quidditch team is missing a chaser.
Dean and Seamus were both interested, but Harry didn't want Seamus to get involved.
Because his luck is so bad.
Until the match with Slytherin approached, Harry had to choose between them.
There were only three of them in the common room at the moment, but one of Hermione's canaries flew over Seamus's head and dropped a drop of guano on his head.
An awkward atmosphere spread in the lounge.
Harry decided that Seamus could not be allowed to join the Quidditch team.
Snowflakes drifted in through the open window, like small pieces of ice crystal art, landing gently on the tip of Afro's nose, cool but with a gentle touch.
She wandered aimlessly somewhere in the corridor for a long time, as if waiting for someone to show up.
"Campbell!" a booming voice rang out in the empty corridor. Slughorn, wearing a velvet hat askew and holding a piece of fruit pie in his hand, "My boy, what are you doing here?"
Afro pretended to be confused and surprised, and said to him as usual, "Professor, I left my textbook in the classroom."
She shook the Advanced Potion-Making book in her hand, pretending to have found it in the classroom.
"Oh, dear," Slughorn continued, taking a bite of his pie, "keep your textbooks in your hand at all times."
"I remember, Professor."
"Do you have time? I just made a pot of hot tea."
Slughorn pushed open the door to his office and stepped aside to invite Avro in.
"Thank you, Professor Slughorn."
As soon as Afro entered the office, he was attracted by the strange-shaped hourglass on the square table.
The hourglass is surrounded by four snake-like green glass tubes, as if poisonous snakes were biting both ends of the hourglass.
"Professor, your hourglass looks very interesting."
Afro took the teacup handed to her by Slughorn, sat in the armchair beside the square table, and stared at the hourglass intently.
"Yes, it is very interesting." Slughorn turned his head and looked into her eyes with a friendly smile. "Look at it to see if the other person is compatible with you."
"After all, unpopular people will make it leak quickly."
Slughorn raised his own cup and motioned towards her.
A breeze blew gently, causing the water in the teacup to ripple slightly. No one noticed this subtle movement, as the two of them sat facing each other in the chairs and exchanged pleasantries.
Afro took a sip of the water in the teacup and said, "Professor, why don't you tell me the story on the shelf again?"
Slughorn was stunned for a moment, then quickly realized what she meant by shelf.
He laughed, walked over to the shelf where the magic photos were placed, and said in a nostalgic and proud tone: "Many aspiring classmates wish they could be there."
"But you don't have to, Aphrodite." His eyes were shining as he stared at her. "Your family has already done this."
Avro just smiled at Slughorn who was talking.
"I remember you had another outstanding student who is still very famous, Professor."
Slughorn picked up a bottle of mead and poured it into an exquisite goblet. "Ah, this is too much, my student -"
"Oh, I'm not exaggerating, my students are all very famous now."
Slughorn's face was filled with pride, as if it was not his students who had achieved success, but himself.
"That's right, but there's one person whose name no one wants to mention." Afro stood up and walked towards the professor holding a glass of wine, his expressionless face exuding a suppressed aura.
The smile on Slughorn's face froze for a moment. The message was obvious: he knew who the girl was talking about.
He didn't want to mention this person at all.
"Many people at Hogwarts taught him, including Dumbledore..."
He stood there blankly, his unfocused eyes fixed on the edge of the third wooden board on the ground.
"What do you think of him?" Afro continued to ask.
Slughorn seemed to have lost his reaction. He kept the same action, answering whatever Afro asked.
“He’s very quiet and very smart.”
“He always knows what I want and what I like.”
Avro looked at Slughorn in silence. He never knew that Voldemort's Legilimency was so successful.
"What's the difference between this and running in front of others?"
Afro looked at the big asterisk that suddenly appeared in front of her and couldn't hold back any more. "2333, what forbidden words did you say?"
23's defense has been breached. The main system is currently testing a new system, which has added many interception and purification functions.
However, Slughorn, who had drunk the drink with added ingredients, continued to talk about the "secret" in his heart.
"That night, Tom came to me and said he had a question he wanted me to answer."
"What did he ask you?"
"What did he say about Horcruxes..."
