People in Hogwarts, holding scripts and systems

Chapter 303: Interlude at the Ceremony

“That possibility is very small.”

Ron's mouth was full, and Afro thought it was amazing that he could speak.

Nick, who was almost headless, came out from a plate of beef and said to Ron in a reproachful tone: "You shouldn't have such an attitude. Peaceful coexistence and cooperation are the key."

After listening to Nick's words, George whistled, took out his latest invention, the quick-acting candy for skipping classes, and recommended it to the new student.

After dinner, Dumbledore began his speech for the new school year as usual, but Umbridge suddenly interrupted his speech with a cough.

She had stood up and was standing next to Dumbledore, looking him in the eye.

Dumbledore was surprised for only a moment, then sat back alertly, waiting attentively for her to speak.

"Thank you, Headmaster." Umbridge smirked, taking Dumbledore's place. "I must say, it's great to be back at Hogwarts!"

Her voice was high-pitched and thin, like a little girl's.

Harry felt a strong sense of disgust, as if he had eaten too much and it was stuck in his throat.

Fred and George were more direct, covering their mouths as they retched at each other.

Umbridge cleared her throat again and coughed twice, her voice becoming much more serious as she continued speaking.

No one in the auditorium was happy. As she spoke on, everyone began to stare blankly, whispering to each other.

The professors listened carefully, and Hermione listened with rapt attention.

Harry looked around and noticed that Afro's eyes had become unfocused and her mind seemed to be wandering.

In fact, Afro asked 23 to find a live broadcast system channel and watch the horror live broadcast with Tom.

After an unknown amount of time, Umbridge finally sat down. Dumbledore led the applause, and several students began to applaud, and the applause grew louder and louder.

But most students only listened to the beginning.

"Thank you very much, Professor Umbridge," Dumbledore said, rising and bowing to her. "That was very illuminating. As I was saying, the Quidditch tryouts will be at ..."

Hermione lowered her voice and said to Aphrodite, "I agree with you. The Ministry of Magic is ready to intervene in the school."

"Really?" Harry asked in surprise. "That sounds like nonsense to me."

"There is something important hidden in that nonsense," Afro said seriously.

"But you didn't even listen, how did you know?" Ron looked at her dully. Don't think he didn't know that Afro was distracted most of the time.

Afro shrugged. "You've heard this kind of speech many times and you know what it's all about."

Hermione stood up and said to Ron, "We should go give directions to the first years."

Ron slapped his forehead and said, "Oh, I almost forgot everything! See you later."

Harry wanted to go back with Aphrodite, but after the ceremony, she disappeared.

The twins and Neville had gone somewhere, and he was the only one left in the noisy auditorium.

Afro took advantage of the fact that people were coming and going in the auditorium and no one was paying attention and pushed open the small door next to the staff desk.

This room was used for the Triwizard Tournament last term.

"Professor Snape?"

As soon as Afro entered the room, she was surprised to see Snape, who always wore a black robe.

She had thought Dumbledore would be waiting for her here.

"Miss Aphrodite is very punctual." Snape put away the pocket watch in his hand and floated over like a ghost. "I hope you can be like this in the future."

"What do you mean?" Afro asked confusedly.

Snape didn't answer. He took out his wand and tapped the wall, revealing a staircase behind the fireplace.

“It turns out there is a secret passage here too.”

Snape snorted coldly, his gloomy voice pronounced English so elegantly, "Thanks to your friend's map."

Afro curled her lips where he couldn't see.

"Why did Dumbledore ask me to come to this room if I'm still in the Headmaster's office?"

Snape was walking in front of her on the left, only half a step away from her.

"Did you fall asleep during the ceremony?"

The implication was that they were on guard against Umbridge.

"Fudge still has the leisure time to do this now?" Afro couldn't understand.

Now, she and Mr. Lovegood have joined forces to compete with the Daily Prophet, and Fudge does not have any advantage in public opinion.

As for the Ministry of Magic alone, although not all the staff there were against Fudge, most of them no longer supported him.

"As long as he stands, he is still the Minister of Magic and still has power." Snape was unexpectedly patient and did not seem to treat her like a child.

It was a bit of a detour from this secret passage to the principal's office, so Snape escorted Aphrodite to the door of the principal's office before leaving.

"Dumbledore is waiting for you inside."
