HP: Hogwarts Snake

Chapter 415: Back to a Foreign Country

Della arrived at an unfortunate time, as it was a rainy and snowy September day in Moscow.

She changed into thick clothes, put on gloves, a scarf, and even a velvet hat. Tang Xueji told her to be careful not to catch a cold. Della, whose cheeks were rosy, followed the doctor's advice.

Then, strolling through the streets of Moscow, she discovered that she was dressed too well and had a too rosy complexion compared to other people on the street.

In order to hide from Maggie, Della was always covered with a Confusion Charm. Muggles and ordinary wizards could not recognize her existence until she spoke to them. After wandering for a while, Della was used to passing through the crowd who ignored her.

But today, she felt a strong sense of discomfort as she walked among the occasional emaciated people in thin clothes.

The "cold" in the phrase "suffering from hunger and cold" can be of two kinds. In the first, life has never been good enough for people to afford warm clothes, and they are always worried about their livelihoods. In the second, in order to survive in the present, they have to sell their warm clothes, and ultimately continue to endure the cold in the future while still worrying about their livelihoods.

This is a very desperate word, corresponding to a desperate reality. Della is feeling uncomfortable with the despair before her.

She thought again of the group of children she had seen during the Triwizard Tournament, those resolute, energetic, yet inevitably thin children, the way they devoured their food religiously every time, and the little hands that divided up the bread soaked in pumpkin juice.

It turns out that their country is just like this...

Della felt sorry for them, admired them, and admired the people who raised these resilient children even more.

I wonder what became of Dmitri and the children.

Della followed the wizarding news in Britain and had a general understanding of the current developments in Voldemort's territory. She also took a quick look at France and Germany before coming.

However, Russia doesn't pay much attention to it because its own ties with the local forces are not as close as those with Germany and France. There is neither her Alchemy Research Institute nor the Black Magic Society she joined.

The last time I read news from Russia was when I picked up the Daily Prophet just after leaving Hogwarts and about to leave England. The page showed Aryan and Mikhail surrounded by a group of children. It said that these children would return to their hometown of the rebuilt Kodostorev to learn how to become a wizard.

It was classic hype, but necessary because fame and recognition came step by step. Regardless, Della was just as happy as anyone else who read the newspaper to see that the children were safely in school.

The previous news related to Russia was the one where Dmitri lost his beloved and shouted that Voldemort had killed Sadolin.

Della was actually only surprised by one thing about the news.

Why did Dmitri get involved in the resurrection ritual?

Harry should be the only one who wins in this plan.

And Dmitri's accidental involvement undoubtedly accelerated Sadolin's "death".

As for whether Sadolin was really dead, Della couldn't be sure. She was a person who was good at guessing the direction of events and making preparations, but after all, she could not fully predict every future, and she was not prepared for the low-probability event of Dmitri being involved in the resurrection ceremony.

I can only wish Sadolin good luck.

Thinking of this, Della walked into a deep alley, walked towards the dead end wall without hesitation, and entered the Russian wizard street Star Candle Lane. She knew this place because she had read the reports on the acquisition of the jewelry that Sadolin gave to Dmitri.

Although these were material possessions that she did not care about, they were gifts from others after all. She was being generous, but she still had to do the finishing work.

She didn't want anyone to see the jewelry on the market and spread rumors that 'Della Riddle had fallen on hard times and had to rely on selling jewelry to make a living', and properly handling the gifts given by subordinates was also an important task for a leader.

Unlike Maggie, whose desire to kill would overwhelm everything else at any time, Della could be described as a dedicated model worker when it came to power.

However, Miss Riddle, who used to be caring for her subordinates and held a high position of power, now entered the streets of a foreign country, and her first stop was to go to the trash can to pick up other people's unwanted newspapers.

Della is rich and capable enough to make her Confusion Spell foolproof even when communicating with others, but there is one very real problem - she can't speak Russian.

Even if the bookstore owner has language skills such as English, French, German or even Chinese, a foreigner who appears on the street and does not speak Russian will still be too conspicuous.

She really didn't want to face Maggie right now.

Della picked up a clean newspaper and sat on a bench nearby. She waved at the newspaper, cast a translation spell, looked at the newspaper with a small picture of Dmitri, and read the latest news from Russia.

Isaev holds another rally, the crowd is excited

Seeing the title, Della raised her eyebrows in surprise, somewhat unconvinced that Dmitri could have the energy to hold a rally within a year.

She read the news carefully, ignoring the awkward translations that were inevitable due to the translation spell, and roughly understood the situation.

Demetrius did not follow the usual path of gradually accumulating reputation. Instead, he faced the misunderstanding and disdain of others and constantly expressed the view that the Dark Lord Voldemort had returned over the past year.

According to the newspaper, people used to think he was a madman who was seeking attention, but two months ago, things took a turn and Voldemort appeared in the British Ministry of Magic, and Demetrius suddenly became a sober hero who was not afraid of power.

The misunderstandings of the past year have become the nourishment of his fame. Out of simple admiration for this young man, people are willing to come to his rallies, and naturally, some people listen.

It is also the times that make heroes.

Della thought so, and believed that it was actually lucky for Dmitri to have such a reputation at such a young age.

And she also had a destination.

Della looked at the meeting address written in the newspaper and prepared to go over and talk to the person who was the last person to have any contact with Maggie.
