Chapter 26 A narrow victory

The magic shield was broken, and knowing that she could no longer expand her victory, Ina slid back.

The restraints disappeared, and the giant wolf's front paws fell to the ground. A thin line of blood flowed from its wound to the ground continuously, and even fragments of internal organs that were crushed by the sword could be seen in the blood.

But the struggle of a drowning person as the white-haired girl imagined did not occur. The giant wolf just stood there calmly.

"What a difficult guy." Ina thought to herself.

Generally speaking, when predators are injured, they usually adopt two strategies:

1. Taking advantage of the predator’s position, abandon the prey and leave.

2. Fight for your life and kill the prey quickly.

But wolves clearly behave differently from both.

He was conserving his strength, and Ina's eyes became sharper.

The situation was undoubtedly favorable for her. In terms of simple confrontation, the giant wolf that had been pierced eight or ten times by the sword would never be able to maintain this state and not slide into a worse situation.

This is not an injury that a bronze-level or third- or fourth-tier monster can recover from naturally.

The premise is that this is just a confrontation.

Ina didn't even dare to breathe. A strong premonition had been warning her since the beginning that any extra sound at this moment might cause her to be beheaded.

The wolf obviously wasn't going to just sit there and waste time. It lowered its body very low, stretched out its front legs, and cautiously moved in the direction of Ina.

Ina was shocked at first and thought to herself that something was wrong.

Even though her vision was taken away, her sense of smell was damaged by the flames, and covered by the smell of blood, she still had no chance of winning against the giant wolf in close combat.

Quickly, she gritted her teeth.

The hand that is not holding the sword must gather magical power to use magic.

Third-level arcane magic, magic arrows, the only third-level magic that Ina currently knows without chanting.

It was powerful enough to penetrate any third-tier defense, but the time it took to condense the magic power was longer than that required to cast any spell, and its effective range was only the width of a finger.

"Success or failure lies in one move."

Ina shouted again, and her petite and slender figure, which was smaller than the monster, took two steps forward.

Instead of waiting for the giant wolf to take action, it is better to strike first yourself!

The man and the werewolf were less than five steps apart!

"Ah!" The wolf, sensing the scent of its ferocious prey, roared angrily. Its four-meter-long body was like a spring that was gathering energy. It straightened up and leaped, transforming into a gray-black beast shadow mixed with a strong wind. Its huge claws went straight for the girl's head!

Ina also became angry and made up her mind.

She pushed her magic power to the extreme and rushed straight into the arms of the gray wolf. The dagger in her left hand pierced the claw that was supposed to hit her head, and her right hand gently pressed down the lower jaw of the wolf's neck.

The black line silently penetrated from the top of the wolf's head!

The bright red blood mixed with the pale white pulp bloomed like a rose in full bloom.

"Cough" Ina's mouth tasted fishy-sweet, with blood oozing from the corners of her mouth.

The half-ton wolf corpse pounced on her with all its remaining force, pinning her to the ground.

The girl felt as if her internal organs were hit hard by a punch.

Being pinned down by a wolf corpse was a novel experience.

But it was by no means a good experience, with less than two tons of mass pressing on her body, she could feel the wolf's blood soaking her trouser legs.

Under the heavy pressure, she had to breathe deeply, only in this way could she get enough oxygen.

"But I don't know why... Even though I was so embarrassed, I am so excited now..."

Ina felt the increasingly anxious heartbeat in her chest. Her heart beat quickly and powerfully, as if to emphasize to herself the fact that she was still alive.

There was no one around, only the singing of birds and her heartbeat in the tall green shade in the distance.

No one answered her, but the source of her excitement was clear.

She won.

And then she survived.

…………

It was already past midnight, and the bright sunlight that only appeared at this time of day shone through the branches of the ancient trees and the dense green leaves, onto the wolf corpse and Ina's slightly dirty face.

It made her feel a little dazzled.

The white-haired girl tried to lift the corpse with both hands. It was very heavy, and she was unable to turn it over by herself. However, leaving was not difficult.

After half an hour's rest, the vague pain in her internal organs had mostly disappeared, and Ina didn't plan to stay any longer.

After a long while, she used her magic power to strengthen her body to the extreme before she was able to lift up half of the wolf's body.

One drag and one stretch.

She, who was just over 1.5 meters tall, moved more than half a meter forward.

After several similar adjustments and exertions, Ina finally broke free from the wolf corpse that was pressing on her.

The girl who came out couldn't help but take big gulps of air greedily.

Although she was trying to get away, the forced stretching and pulling still caused the bruises on her body to start to ache again.

A lot of fresh air filled into her lungs, and Ina's brain became much clearer. Now she had to deal with her injuries.

Normally, without medicine, clean cloth, and clean water, even the best hunters would not be able to properly treat wounds, even if it was just a sprain.

But Ina as a magician is a different story.

"There's still quite a bit of magic power left..." She muttered something, as if she had already thought of a way to deal with it.

He looked around carefully to make sure there were no wild animals lying in ambush.

Ina took off her coat that was covered with dried mud and unbuttoned her tight shirt.

Large areas of skin as white as ice and snow were exposed to the air, and a piece of slightly mature jade-white skin was hidden under the shirt.

If it weren't for the white-haired girl's body covered in mud and red, it would have been a beautiful scene.

Without caring about so much, Ina concentrated on humming a strange and long spell, gathering magic power in her hands, and then the light blue turned into emerald green.

"Primary Treatment"

The soft green magic power and magic circle penetrated into the chest, like a stream of cool spring water flowing through, penetrating into the internal organs and spreading to the limbs and bones with a cool feeling.

The stabbing pain disappeared, and the sudden coolness and comfort made Ina shiver.

The white-haired girl used healing spells several times in succession, supported by a huge amount of magic power equivalent to that of an upper-level magician.

For a formal magician, the third-level magic, which should be a bit difficult to perform, does not require any long-term planning in her hands.

After tidying up her clothes, Ina crossed the rock wall platform in a few breaths and ran straight to the place where she was attacked.

The giant wolf taught her a lesson: even if it was just on the edge, it didn’t mean she wouldn’t encounter powerful monsters.

Maybe it was a coincidence that time with Rick, but not this time. She didn’t know when the next encounter would be, and she didn’t want to gamble with her physical strength.

The fallen giant tree was very conspicuous in the jungle, and the girl found it without much effort.

The icicle had turned into magic power and dissipated. The poor skeleton's upper body was blown to pieces, with bones and blackened flesh scattered everywhere.

Under the light, Ina could even see the white maggots wriggling in the minced meat.

His face showed apology, but there was no hesitation.

Picking up the long sword on the ground not far away, Ina rushed down without looking back.
