Chapter 25 Giant Wolf
The thing behind him made a terrifying sound.
Ina didn't care about anything else and dodged to the side.
In an instant, a white crystal as thick as the trunk of a giant tree directly connected to the rotten corpse, and pierced the tree trunk behind it into pieces.
The silver light shattered, and the eggshell-shaped shield broke into glass-like fragments. It was obvious that the shield spell was not as lucky as its owner.
"So cold, icy?" The debris from the giant crystal splashed onto the white-haired girl's face.
But at this moment, Ina cannot afford to be distracted for a moment.
The wet mud that oozes water when you step on it and the moss-covered stones in the mud form the most natural and deadly trap in this forest.
Before Ina could figure out the situation, she landed unsteadily and rolled down the mountain like a tumbling wine barrel.
The sharp protruding stones tore open her brown-black coat and shirt and scratched her skin.
Ina tried to grab any branch, bush, or even boulder she could reach, but on the nearly semi-vertical slope, she was unable to do anything except leave a trail of bright red blood.
The girl's petite body did not stop until it rolled down to an exposed stone wall about seventy or eighty meters away from the trunk of the corpse.
"It hurts so much, damn it, it hurts, damn it." Ina struggled to get up, her originally fair and delicate face was already covered with several bloody cuts.
His coat, shirt, and trousers were all covered in mud and dead leaves that smelled of rotting plants and earth. His snow-white hair was now matted with white and black patches and looked very messy.
The bleeding wounds on her hands were covered with mud and sand, as if sprinkled with fine salt. The stinging pain was like a needle prick, making it almost impossible for her to hold on to anything at this moment.
The violent wind pressure came again, not giving Ina any time to think. The magic power flowed, she stood up, and retreated. The white-haired girl was like being pulled by a taut rope.
In an instant, the body was several meters away from the platform.
The gray-black beast's shadow fell, and its giant claws, which had gotten there first, dug a hole in the steel-hard rock wall under the beast's brute strength.
The ferocious beast's astonishing destructive power made Ina's hair stand on end and she cried out in her heart that something was wrong.
At the same time, she also saw clearly the ill intentions of the predator.
A giant wolf with gray-blue hair, 1.8 meters tall and over 4 meters long, a third-level magical beast, a blue-feathered forest wolf.
Just from the height of his four limbs on the ground, he was one animal head taller than Ina!
The giant wolf did not pursue the victory as it had done before, nor did it even make the forward movement of sinking its forelimbs as wolves would do during a fight in order to pounce on prey at any time.
He just stared at his prey naturally, with an unbelievable arrogance.
Inako didn't care about that and clenched the brass dagger in her right hand.
When she rolled down just now, no one knew where her sword had fallen.
The only thing she could rely on was the dagger in her hand. Due to her injury, she was unable to perform her skillful blade-spinning skills that were like an acrobatic performance.
This means that she has lost a certain degree of agility in attack, and the remaining attacks will hit the flesh, and probably only hit the flesh!
Ina lowered her body, bent over and held the dagger in front of her. Just sitting there and waiting to die was not something she would do.
"A third-level monster... In a pure strength fight, I have no chance of winning... I actually encountered a monster of the same level. This is really not a happy hunt."
The white-haired girl quickly filtered out strategies that could break the deadlock while muttering to herself in an effort to calm her mind. In this situation, staying calm is often the best way to deal with the situation.
But I felt something strange in my heart.
Suddenly, two clear rays shot out like crossbow arrows and attacked the girl's head!
Ina did not hesitate at all in the "Shield Technique". The light shield was constructed in an instant, and the rays that were so close to her were immediately shattered into countless tiny ice chips, which scattered in the air like broken starlight.
The giant wolf suddenly moved without any warning, like a skilled assassin. In just a moment, its claws, powerful enough to tear apart the knights' heavy armor, were already in front of her.
Ina was panicked by the unexpected feint attack and had no time to react. Fortunately, her surging magic power far exceeded that of her peers, and it was not just talk.
The glowing barrier suddenly shattered into spider-web-like cracks, and withstood the attack of the beast's claws, carrying the girl and flying sideways.
Seeing that its first move failed, the giant wolf did not give up. It sank and twisted its waist, then pounced on Ina who had just landed.
The powerful impact awakened his confused thoughts. Facing the giant wolf approaching again, the fear of death and the desire to survive took over his blank mind.
That seemingly fragile body was actually much faster than any wild beast, and the power of a person of high rank was suddenly revealed.
The magic power gathered under her body. Ina tapped her toes a few times, and the man and the wolf separated again.
The giant wolf was stunned by the empty-handed return, but when it came to life and death, a few seconds were enough for Ina to suppress the tension in her heart.
The green pupils were slightly condensed, as if containing a sharp edge.
A short and gentle spell was uttered, and magic power gathered and transformed. High temperature burst out from her hands, and a small ball of bright orange and red fire condensed in her hands.
"Small Fireball"
"Bang!" The scorching flames exploded on the giant wolf's forehead. The burned part of the wolf's hair burned his pupils, temporarily depriving him of his vision.
The intense pain made the giant wolf lose its original composure. It began to scratch, crawl and bite like crazy, with a low, angry growl, which made Ina's heartbeat quicken a little even several feet away.
While the wolves were in confusion, Ina lowered her voice and chanted as she retreated several dozen steps to behind four birch trees.
"Primary physical enhancement!"
After the chant ended, Ina took a deep breath, and unlike her previous quiet retreat, she shouted hysterically.
Relying on the sound and the only remaining sense of smell, the giant wolf, whose vision was deprived, locked onto the girl. In anger, he was even faster than before, running left and right, and with a few leaps, he quickly took shelter.
"Magic construction - shield."
A short spell consisting of six verses.
A light blue shield-shaped magic block without any stripes, transparent, but seemingly solid, suddenly stood between the two.
The third-level magic power construction, the magician uses his own magic power to construct spells with physical properties like real objects in a short time, which is a general-purpose arcane extension magic such as Arcane Missile and Magic Hand.
In fact, they only have the tiny magic power of a formal magician. Even if they construct a shield like Ina's, it can only last for tens of seconds, and its hardness is not as good as the second-level shield.
For low-level human magicians, they can only construct a simple shield or a mid-air pedal to stand on, which is undoubtedly extremely useless.
But now it is completely different.
The light blue magic shield lifted up the giant wolf and pinned it against the birch tree, with its hairless belly half exposed in front of Ina.
Even the ferocious beast that could easily tear rocks apart was unable to break free for a while.
"How is it possible that I am the only one who gets beaten every time!"
Ina raised her sword and thrust forward, the brass dagger easily penetrated the magic shield.
“Squeak, squeak, squeak!”
Ina was like a white kitten with its fur standing on end, and the dagger was its claw. In an instant, several bloody holes were torn into the giant wolf's belly.
"Ow!"
The beast felt the pain and became more and more crazy. Its magic power seemed to respond to the owner of this body. It should have been far inferior to the girl's magic power and suddenly surged out from its broken body!
