Chapter 10 Simple Hunting

But they picked the wrong prey, as Rick's attack was faster than they landed.

He remained motionless, but with a flick of his fingers, the stones in his palms shot out with a force that was as powerful as the two-pound cannons used by the kingdom's army.

"Boom! Boom!" Pebble-sized stones wrapped in the breath of war easily pierced through the two black shadows that jumped down first, leaving holes as big as bowls on the tree trunks, and then smashed into the snow with remaining force.

In an instant, the terrifying energy blew away large areas of frozen soil and snow.

Ina was not an elk drinking water from a stream. As an adventurer who had taken on Rick's blows during practice, her trained instant reaction enabled her to move several meters away from the predators the moment she became aware of them.

At the same time, Ina also saw the appearance of the predators clearly. They were lean monkeys with grayish-white bodies. Their ten claws emitted a faint blue light, indicating that they were magical beasts, not ordinary wild beasts.

Before she could even stand firmly on her heels, Ina had already placed her sword across her chest to meet the oncoming enemy.

The remaining predators got on all fours and ran faster than a mountain cat, following closely behind the white-haired girl.

What a pity!

Ina's sword was like thunder, and she thrust forward fiercely. Her one-handed sword hit paper like a rivet, accurately and fatally piercing the throat of the predator in front. Then, she pulled and cut!

A large amount of thick blood plasma sprayed out, and the silver-white sword body was hidden in the red until the second beast head flew up!

The second hunter's head was chopped off by the sword light like a screen!

Taking advantage of the momentum of her body's rotation, Ina exerted force from her waist and kicked away the third one that pounced on her.

"Bang!" The fourth one slammed heavily into a layer of light curtain constructed by magic power outside Ina's body, causing blood to flow from the beast's nose. The sharp claws that could dig out a piece of flesh from a human body stopped in mid-air!

Before it could get up again, Ina, who had adjusted her posture, had already raised her sword and split its head in half.

The white-haired girl's quick and skillful skills shocked Rick who was watching from the side.

The last monster that was kicked away screamed, turned around and fled. Ordinary wild beasts would also run away out of instinct, let alone a monster with some spirituality.

Rick slowly picked up a stone from the ground and prepared to clean up the mess, but out of the corner of his eye he saw Ina had raised her gun.

Pointing at the fleeing monster.

The third skill without the chanting of arcane magic really can't shorten the time to gather magic power... But are these the monsters? Surprisingly, they are not as difficult to deal with as imagined. "Yina whispered to herself while watching the monsters fleeing farther and farther.

The monkey monster was very fast and it opened up a distance of dozens of meters in a few seconds. It did not follow its instinct to climb up a tree to hide like a normal monkey. On the contrary, it shuttled between tree trunks from time to time, hoping to cover itself from the attack.

But it was destined to be of no use. The pitch-black arrow closed the distance between them much faster than his escape speed. The pitch-black arrow cut through the air, crossed the distance, and reached the head of the monster in an instant.

The next moment, the monster's head exploded like a watermelon blasted by a hammer, and red and white things spilled all over the ground.

"How do you feel about your first hunt?" Rick walked over in the snow, not disguising his pride and praise for Ina's skills. "To be honest, this is the first time I've seen an adventurer so calm when facing a monster for the first time."

"It's unexpectedly not as difficult as I thought." Ina put away her one-handed sword, picked up the elm bow that she had just temporarily discarded on the snow, and commented: "It's completely different from practicing with the uncle."

"Comparing myself to a group of monkeys...it's a bit hurtful." Having said that, Rick didn't care much. He walked over to Ina and the dead monsters and squatted down.

He pulled out the small knife from the leather sheath on his thigh.

"Okay, I should teach you the second thing about hunting - selectively harvesting your spoils." He held down the claw of a monster and cut a knuckle with a light cut. This should have required a bone-chopping knife to complete the task, but in Rick's hands it was no more difficult than cutting a piece of thin paper.

"For hunters and adventurers like us, we don't get much from a single hunt. It's common to return empty-handed. However, even if there's only one prey, hunters can't and won't necessarily be able to carry it with them."

"To give you a simple example, a common, lighter spotted deer weighs at least 70 kilograms."

"Not to mention ordinary hunters, even for an extraordinary professional adventurer, it is not easy to carry it over a mountain road of more than ten kilometers. It will be very difficult to deal with the attacking monsters, not to mention the subsequent hunting."

"It is very important to make the right choice at this time." As he spoke, Rick had already removed the claw knuckles from two corpses, leaving only one. He then turned the knife over, lightly pinched the blade with two fingers, and pointed the handle at Ina.

"We are facing more ferocious and brutal monsters. We must always ensure that the weight we carry does not significantly affect our physical strength, speed, and coordination of movements... and of course the use of weapons - it is not wise to lose your life for a little gain."

Ina took the knife, only to hear Rick add: "I can't say about the selection of various beast parts."

"Uncle doesn't know either?" Ina suddenly exclaimed in surprise.

"Nonsense, I'm not a hunter by birth. Even if I'm an adventurer, I can only be considered a mid-career changer." Faced with the girl's interruption, Rick did not shy away.

"But choosing the value of a monster doesn't require much experience or expertise. In short, it's just about choosing the parts that carry magic power. These are all valuable magical materials. Compared to meat and internal organs, they can be sold for a much higher price."

Then Rick pointed at the skin of the monster and the blood that was beginning to condense and dry on the snow: "If you can't tell, fur, blood, and bones are the first choice. In many cases, they are where the monster carries more or less magic power. Naturally... you shouldn't worry about this aspect."

Ina asked without hesitation: "Why?"

In return, Rick looked at him like a fool. He sighed and pointed at his eyes unhappily: "Third-level magic "Magic Eye", I remember you have already learned it?"

"Magic Eye...the magic that can see the magic of things within the field of vision?" Ina blinked and quickly recalled the corresponding spell in her mind.

However, due to Ina's half-elf nature, she possesses a higher magical affinity and abilities that human magicians of the same level do not have. She can vaguely and roughly perceive magic power, so even after learning the Magic Eye, she rarely practices and uses it.

"So it has this use." Ina couldn't help but whisper in her heart.

Rick pointed at the Swift Monkey's head and said, "In addition, there is also one of the most valuable magical materials in Warcraft, the magic crystal."

"Well, you should know better than me how widely used it is."

"It is basically formed in the brain of the monster, and is the source of magic power for most monsters. However, the first-level Swift Monkey does not have that thing. Most of the time, it only appears on monsters above the third level."

After saying that, he handed over the remaining four carcasses to Ina. Hunting is a skill, and collecting trophies is also a technical job. Every time you deal with the carcasses of hunted prey, it is a precious opportunity.

After all, no hunter knows whether the next prey will appear tomorrow or next week.

Ina had not yet been able to attach magic to weapons like Rexon, and she lacked experience, so she handled the situation a little awkwardly. It was not until 30 minutes later that she returned to Rexon and ran.

She put forty knuckles into her backpack without cutting off any flesh.

She and Rick both brought bread and dried meat. If all else failed, rabbit meat would be more acceptable.

"How is it?" Rick took the knife whose wooden handle had been cracked without changing his expression.

The income from this alone was more than six silver coins.

If they were to show off Ina's harvest to the wine bowl, those drunken adventurers would probably not be able to drink a single sip of wine for the next few days.

In short, Ina is already qualified as an adventurer.

Therefore, he gave the next choice to the white-haired girl.

"Do you want to continue hunting?"
