Shen Ye's words startled Ada, who had been observing intently. For some reason, she didn't want Shen Ye to know her true purpose for coming here, so she said, "I'm thinking about whether or not to help them."

"Let them worry about it; we're just ordinary people," Shen Ye said.

Then he added, "They are a regular army."

"Well... alright then." Ada nodded, but sighed inwardly.

As if remembering something else, she suddenly said, "You are indeed very lucky."

"What?" Shen Ye was stunned for a moment, not understanding what Ada meant.

“You just said we can leave here alive.” Ada pointed to the roadblock that the Tyrant had smashed open; there were almost no zombies there.

“Of course.” Shen Ye puffed out his chest: “Someone… well, it might not be a person, anyway, someone said that I am the darling of Lady Luck, and she is always watching over me.”

"So?" Ada asked, switching magazines.

"So every day is my lucky day," Shen Ye said seriously. "Not just today or tomorrow."

“Sounds good.” Ada made an exaggerated expression. “If that’s the case, it seems I can’t live without you, Mr. Lucky.”

"If that's really what you think, I don't mind." Shen Ye chuckled.

"Dream on." Ada glanced at him with a half-smile.

Chapter 24! Reunion

……

Regardless of whether Shen Ye's idea was beautiful or not, the two of them had very important things to do right now.

After crossing the street where the barricades had been knocked down, the two headed straight for the Raccoon City Police Department.

However, due to obstacles at most intersections, their journey was not smooth, and they spent more time taking detours.

Moreover, due to the detour they took, and the fact that most of Raccoon City's streets had been damaged, they found themselves seemingly lost.

Finally, near an apartment building, Shen Ye and Ada stopped. They planned to find a place to rest for a while and replan their route.

Before they could find a safe room, they heard inhuman screams coming from the apartment building next door.

Not wanting to cause any more trouble, Shen Ye complained, "Honestly, can't you just let me rest for a bit?"

He then nudged Ida, who was looking at the source of the sound with a mixture of wariness and curiosity, reminding her to leave quickly.

Before they could even move, the safety door of the fire escape on the exterior wall of the apartment was suddenly kicked open with a loud bang.

Upon hearing the sound, the two instinctively looked in that direction and discovered a woman running down the fire escape ladder on the outside of the wall on the top floor of the apartment building.

Shen Ye has always had a good eye. When he saw this woman, he was pleasantly surprised to find that this was the Jill he was looking for.

"Jill!" Shen Ye rushed down the stairs, waving his hands and shouting.

Jill recognized Shen Ye's voice very well. She was initially delighted, but then she remembered the monster chasing her and shouted nervously, "Shen, run! Something is chasing me!"

As if to confirm her words, no sooner had she finished speaking than a roar rang out, and then the door she had just passed through was smashed to pieces by a tremendous force.

A monster with an exceptionally terrifying appearance emerged.

This monster was also very tall and wore a special coat. Although it was shorter than the Tyrant, Shen Ye knew that this guy was even more difficult to deal with than the Tyrant.

It is the Tracker, a BOW product improved from the Tyrant model. The difference is that it is infested with a special parasite, which makes its attack methods more diverse.

Jill noticed the commotion behind her and hurried downstairs, but when she reached the third floor, she found that the fire escape on the second floor had been destroyed, which filled her with utter despair.

"Jill, jump down!" Shen Ye had already noticed the problem with the fire escape ladder, and he shouted to Jill with his arms outstretched.

Jill hesitated for a moment. She knew very well what the consequences would be if she jumped from this height, and she knew even more well how much impact the person who was going to catch her would suffer.

"No, Shen, you go first, I'll look for another way." Jill shook her head at Shen Ye and turned to open the emergency exit on the third floor.

However, the residents of the apartment had locked all the security doors from the inside to defend against zombie attacks, so Jill couldn't open them from the outside.

Suddenly, Ada's gun went off, because the pursuers had reached the seventh floor.

However, this can only temporarily slow it down; it's only a matter of time before it catches up with Jill.

Shen Ye shouted again, "Jill, hurry up, jump down, don't hesitate."

Jill glanced behind her, finally stopped hesitating, and climbed over the fire ladder railing. However, she didn't jump towards Shen Ye, but instead chose an open space.

However, due to the damage to the fire escape on the second floor, the fire escape on the third floor was not very sturdy. Just as Jill climbed over, the railing she was holding suddenly broke, and with a scream, Jill fell vertically down.

Shen Ye kept his eyes on Jill, and just as Jill was about to crash to the ground, he leaped over and caught her.

The moment he hugged Jill, Shen Ye clearly felt a tremendous impact. He twisted his body, tilted his head back, and let his sturdier back hit the ground first. Then he began a series of rolls to dissipate the force.

After rolling seven or eight times, Shen Ye stopped because he bumped into a pair of long legs, and the owner of those long legs was looking at him with a blank expression.

Because there were still pursuers around, Shen Ye didn't have time to explain to Ada why he did this. He released his arms, helped Jill stand up, and then nimbly got up himself, gesturing for the two women who were about to examine his body to leave.

At this moment, the tracker went down to the fourth floor, saw the three people walking away, and jumped down as well. However, having lost its view from above, it could no longer see the three people.

……

In fact, the three of them did not run very far. After realizing that the pursuers were not catching up, they stopped after crossing only two streets.

Of course, another reason was that Jill was worried about Shen Ye's health; she needed to find a place to get him checked out.

Ida naturally had no objections. She was also somewhat worried, but unlike Jill, she didn't show it as readily, and her face remained as calm as usual.

Jill randomly picked a private clinic by the roadside, kicked the door open without any hesitation, went inside, shot and killed the doctor who had turned into a zombie, then pushed Shen Ye onto the sofa and, ignoring Shen Ye's strong objections, began to rip off his shirt.

After realizing he couldn't resist Jill's insistence, Shen Ye could only let her undress him, while giving Ada, who was watching coldly, a wry smile.

He was met with Ada's cold laugh.

Soon, Jill finished examining Shen Ye's entire body and came to the conclusion that Shen Ye was indeed uninjured and his body was still incredibly strong.

Jill gradually calmed down, and then she remembered that besides Shen Ye, there was another woman in the room.

Seeing Jill's embarrassed expression, Ada shrugged and said, "I'm glad you remembered me. To be honest, I felt so cheesy just now, like I was watching a melodramatic soap opera."

This made Jill even more embarrassed. She looked at Shen Ye, then at Ada, and then reached out her hand to her, saying, "Thank you for the firepower support earlier. By the way, my name is Jill Valentine."

“Ada Wong.” Ada reached out and shook her hand briefly before quickly pulling it back.

Fortunately, Jill didn't mind the somewhat impolite gesture, and she began to tell Shen Ye about her experiences over the past few days.

It's basically the same as the original storyline.

She was working late into the night in her apartment writing a report when she received a call from Brad, and was eventually hunted down by her pursuers.

The only discrepancy is that his arrival with Ada was somewhat coincidental, so Jill's encounter did not mention Carlos and others from UBCS.

Shen Ye didn't care about this; without Carlos and the others, they would have fewer troubles.

Of course, it's only a smaller number, because bigger trouble is yet to come!

Chapter 25! A Temporary Separation

However, before the existing problems could be resolved, a new problem arose.

Jill and Ida had a disagreement.

To be precise, it was a disagreement over the route.

After resting for a while at a private clinic, Jill suggested going to find her only STARS companion in Raccoon City, Brad.

But Ada insisted that she had to go to the Raccoon City Police Department.

So, the two who had disagreed looked at Shen Ye at the same time, hoping that he could make a decision.

“This…” Shen Ye scratched his head in embarrassment.

Faced with the gazes of the two women, he felt an indescribable headache. He would rather face his pursuer alone than make a choice that would absolutely offend one of the women.

After frowning and pondering for a while, Shen Ye ultimately decided to help Jill find Brad first. He planned to send Jill and Brad out of Raccoon City first, and then find a way to come back and help Ada.

"Ada, I'm sorry, I have to help first..." Shen Ye said with difficulty.

Ada wasn't surprised by Shen Ye's decision at all. Clearly, she knew that Shen Ye and Jill were closer, so she interrupted him before he finished speaking, saying, "I understand, no need to explain."

Then she continued, "Have a safe journey."

After saying that, Ada turned around and walked towards the clinic entrance without looking back.

"Wait a minute." At that moment, Jill called out to Ida.

Ada stopped and, without turning around, asked, "Is there anything else?"

“Why don’t we go together? Brad said he saw a rescue helicopter, and we can easily leave here on one,” Jill said.

Ada turned around, looked at Shen Ye with a complicated expression, and shook her head, saying, "I'm sorry, I have things to do. I need to go find someone; that's my boyfriend."

Jill paused for a moment, then looked at Shen Ye, her eyes hinting that he should try to keep the woman who had helped her.

Shen Ye thought for a moment, then walked up to Ada. Instead of stopping her, he handed her some ammunition and whispered:

"Don't worry, Ada, I'll come find you after I see them off."
