"Hmm... let's see how well you're all learning..."
He handed out the test papers.
Wade took a look.
It was exactly the same information Anthony had found out; he didn't even bother to change a single question.
The Ravenclaws exchanged knowing glances and began to write furiously.
The Slytherins, however, are quite different.
Some were dismissive, some frowned, some admired, and some seemed to be like them, having obtained the answer in advance and starting to write without thinking.
The quill pen glided across the parchment, making a "shush-shush-shush" sound.
Today, Lockhart is destined to receive a result that will greatly surprise him.
Chapter 131 Secret Passage
In the first Defense Against the Dark Arts class of the new semester, Lockhart had probably learned from yesterday's failure and didn't bring any more creatures that he couldn't handle.
He gave everyone half an hour to write the test, and spent the rest of the time giving feedback. He would also occasionally have the students open his books and read the exciting passages.
That is, the parts that can demonstrate his strength, courage, and indomitable spirit.
That's how easily a class was skipped.
Even so, when get out of class ended, several students still surrounded Lockhart, asking him for autographs.
"If the next class is like this, I might try to take a sick leave."
Michael complained to Wade, then asked, "Speaking of which, I thought you weren't going to take that test seriously!"
“I have some books I’d like to borrow from the restricted section,” Wade said.
"What's so difficult about that? I've never seen anyone more vain than this guy."
As Michael spoke, he pulled out a few pieces of parchment, used a copying spell to copy Lockhart's photo from the textbook cover, and then called out Padma.
“Padma, Wade wants a few Lockhart autographs. Can you help me get them?” Michael asked.
Padma tossed her braids behind her back and said confidently, "Leave it to me!"
Today, she also wore a phoenix-shaped badge on her neckline, making even the smallest blemishes on her skin invisible; she looked beautiful and dazzling.
Padma joined in like the other girls, and soon returned with several "autographed photos".
"Call me anytime if you need me." She casually handed several sheets of parchment to Wade, saying, "I just need to smile like an idiot; he won't even look at them closely before signing a hundred!"
Michael gave a thumbs up: "Thanks to you, it might not have been so easy for us."
With a flick of his wand, Vader made all the copied photos disappear, leaving only Lockhart's flamboyant signature.
He couldn't help but smile.
I was in a good mood, but not because I received a blank signature slip.
As they were leaving, Michael nudged him with his shoulder and whispered, "Easier than you thought, right?"
“Wade, don’t always try to solve everything on your own. You can rely on us too.”
"Sometimes what's difficult for one person might be very simple for another, right?"
……
Wade awoke from his bizarre dream, opened the window, and fresh, humid air rushed in, carrying away the stale air in the room.
It seems like it rained last night; the windowsill is all wet.
He recalled the figures in his dream whose faces he couldn't make out...
I remember my father in my past life losing everything because he guaranteed a loan for his "best friend".
He recalled how a "good friend" from university stole his research results and published them first, then deleted the data from his computer, accused him of plagiarism, and posted it online to incite netizens to cyberbully him.
There were some things that Wade thought he had long forgotten, but in fact they were always etched in his heart.
But Michael and Theo's words also echoed in my heart.
Oh my friend……
It's always easy for young children to give their trust; the older they get, the harder it becomes.
But doubting everything is just as wrong as trusting everything... Without trust, loyalty and friendship will eventually fade away.
He took a deep breath and exhaled the pent-up frustration that had been weighing on his heart for so long.
……
After finishing their afternoon classes, Wade and Michael went to the fourth floor near the hunchbacked, one-eyed witch. The two leaned against the window, and after a few students in the corridor left, Wade said, "I'm leaving."
Michael nodded: "If anyone contacts you, I'll handle it for you."
He pretended to admire the scenery while keeping an eye out for anyone approaching, while Wade tapped the stone witch with his wand and whispered, "Separate to the left and right."
The statue's hunchback immediately opened, revealing a narrow walkway.
Wade waved to Michael and quickly went inside.
Michael watched as the secret passage closed, put his hands in his pockets, and slowly went downstairs, just as he brushed past Filch.
The administrator stared at him grimly. Michael nodded to him, then caught sight of several Slytherin students out of the corner of his eye. His eyes lit up, and he immediately walked over there.
……
Wade slid down a long, sloping stone slide before continuing along a damp, cold, secret passage. The ground was rugged and uneven, seemingly not carved out by human hands.
The surroundings were dark and quiet, with only the tip of his wand emitting a bright light.
The secret passage was very long; it took over an hour for Wade to finally see a long flight of stairs. These stairs stretched far upwards, appearing to have hundreds of steps.
Fortunately, he only needs to climb this once.
Wade muttered to himself, resignedly climbing the steps. He didn't know how much time had passed before he saw a trapdoor appear above him.
Wade pushed open the trapdoor, and a hand reached down from above, grabbed Wade's arm, and pulled him out.
Lupin cast a cleansing spell, removing the dirt from his body, and asked with a smile, "This journey must have been difficult, hasn't it?"
Wade calmed his breathing and said after a while, "It's much longer than I thought."
He felt like his legs were no longer his own.
Fortunately, he is still very young... or perhaps it's the wizard's constitution that gives him an advantage. After a short while, Wade felt much better.
"This secret passage is indeed long and difficult to navigate."
Lupin said, "Actually, there's a secret passage under the Whomping Willow that leads to the Screaming Shack. Just press the knot on the tree and it will stop attacking."
“If the Vanishing Cabinet is fixed, I won’t need the secret passage anymore,” Wade said.
"Why do we have to repair the Vanishing Cabinet?" Lupin said. "You know, compared to the secret passage, the Vanishing Cabinet is always a bit more dangerous."
"But the secret passage only gets me to the vicinity of Hogwarts. If I want to go somewhere further away, I don't have enough time."
Wade explained, "And even during regular classes, I don't want to spend too much time commuting."
Lupin didn't ask him where he wanted to go; he was a very sensible person.
“Be careful,” Lupin said. “I’ll give you an illusion.”
He tapped Wade on the head with his wand. Wade closed his eyes and felt a cold sensation flow into his body from the top of his head.
Wade looked at his palm; no matter how he moved, his body color would become exactly the same as the surrounding area.
It was as if they had been made invisible.
Perhaps only those with very keen eyesight can perceive that subtle interweaving.
“Let’s go,” Wade said. “After we fix the Vanishing Cabinet, I hope I can learn the spell by the time I go back to school on Sunday.”
"It's not easy; it involves advanced applications of the Transfiguration Charm. But if it were you... perhaps you could do it."
Lupin closed the trapdoor, walked behind Wade, and said gently.
The two went up the stairs to the Honeydukes counter. Lupin flicked his wand, and a bottle on the shelf suddenly tipped over.
The shop owner was a bald, middle-aged man. As he went to pick up the bottle, Lupin and Wade took the opportunity to come out from inside.
Chapter 132 Occlumency
Improving the vanishing cabinet was a familiar task for Wade, and he completed it in half the time he had expected.
Learning the Distortion Charm is somewhat complicated, but Vader had actually been studying it on his own for a long time and had a solid foundation in Transfiguration. On Saturday evening, he finally mastered the Distortion Charm.
Currently, his Disappearance Spell only changes color; it can still be detected upon close inspection. However, if the magic power is strong enough, the Disappearance Spell can also make someone completely invisible.
In addition, the Disillusionment Charm is also needed to repair the Invisibility Cloak.
With the expected work completed, Wade still has a weekend to spare.
"Perhaps you could explore Hogsmeade Village? Or you could go on adventures around there."
Lupin mentioned his favorite activity from his student days: "There are many interesting places nearby, and I can be your guide. If there's anything you want to buy, I can also help you buy it."
