Ding Ze, with a cigarette dangling from his lips and a black briefcase in hand, pushed open the door with a broad smile. He then looked at Gretchen first and said, "Gretchen, you've been shot. That's terrible."
Gretchen rolled her eyes. "Did you come here just to make sarcastic remarks?"
"Haha, how could that be? I'm here to express my concern for you," Ding Ze said with a smile.
Gretchen ignored her and simply asked, "What do you want to do with the two of us locked up here?"
Ding Ze raised his hand and took the cigarette out of his mouth. "I'm doing this to protect you. Do you know how many people are looking for you outside?"
"I'm injured and not in the mood for jokes. So, what do you want?" Gretchen said impatiently.
“You’re such a boring person,” Ding Ze smiled brightly. “Alright, let’s get down to business.”
Words spoken.
Ding Ze looked at Whistler and said with a smile, "Whistler, we meet again."
Whistler's expression was incredibly complicated, but he still responded, "Mr. Ding, thank you for helping us escape here."
"You're welcome. I have my own purpose, otherwise I wouldn't have gone to all this trouble," Ding Ze said with a smile.
Whistler immediately asked, "What is your purpose? Would you mind telling me? Perhaps I can help you in return."
“Nothing’s inconvenient, I’ll tell you right now,” Ding Ze replied crisply. Then, he immediately drew his gun, aimed it at Whistler’s right leg with lightning speed, and pulled the trigger.
Bang!
Everything happened so fast that neither Whistler nor Gretchen had time to react, nor did they expect Ding Ze to do such a thing.
next second.
Whistler screamed in pain.
Gretchen stood up, shocked and furious, her eyes wide with rage, and yelled at Ding Ze, "Ding Ze, what the hell are you doing?! I need him!!"
“Calm down,” Ding Ze said, smiling at Gretchen. Then he turned to Whistler and said, “Whistler, you have one chance to tell us about your plan to betray the company.”
The words entered the air.
Whistler: "!!!!"
Gretchen was completely stunned, utterly bewildered as to what was going on. "???"
Whistler was in excruciating pain, his handsome face contorted in agony, but even so, he denied it with unwavering conviction, "What the hell are you talking about?"
Upon hearing this, Ding Ze didn't hesitate for a moment and fired another shot at Whistler's left leg. Bang!
Whistler was in so much pain that he was covered in sweat, his body forced into a near-curled up position, and he yelled, "Ah! What the hell are you doing?"
Gretchen was really anxious.
no way.
The company needed Whistler alive to complete that very important transaction.
If that deal falls through, Gretchen will die too!
"Ding Ze! Stop! What exactly do you want to do?" Gretchen roared, her eyes wide with anger.
They could only yell; they didn't dare to make a move.
After all, would it be to fight Ding Ze?
Even if he weren't injured, let alone now that he's injured, he probably wouldn't have a chance of winning!
“I’m doing you a huge favor, saving your life,” Ding Ze replied with a smile. “Let me tell you this story. Whistler has betrayed the company and joined the organization that wants to destroy it. His plan is to buy that card, secretly switch it with the fake one, and have you report to General Kranz.”

"Given General Kranz's character, you will die then."
Ding Ze said in one breath, and then looked at Whistler, whose face was covered in sweat and whose complexion was becoming increasingly pale, "Whistler, am I right?"
Whistler couldn't fathom how Ding Ze knew such a secret, and his thoughts raced.
In no time.
Because he didn't want to die, Whistler made a decision: "Yes! Mr. Ding, I'm willing to work for you, please don't kill me!"
hum.
Instantly, Gretchen's expression changed drastically; she was shocked once again, and at the same time, she was filled with lingering fear.
It's important to know that Gretchen was the one who orchestrated the deal to get Whistler to buy back that card.
Turns out, Whistler was a mole.
If General Kranz heard about this, he wouldn't need any evidence at all...
Gretchen would have to be executed.
"Ding Ze, kill him!" Gretchen, not wanting to die either, immediately made the decision and said decisively.
"Yes, sir!" Ding Ze grinned and immediately fired, bang bang bang.
All three shots landed on Whistler's chest.
Whistler died before he could utter a single word.
Gretchen watched, her mind a complete mess, unsure of what to say.
Ding Ze wasn't in a hurry. He put away his gun, walked to Whistler's side, and gently pulled Whistler to the floor. Then, he opened the bag he had brought, took out his tools, and began to carefully treat Whistler's face.
A new human skin mask.
Hehe, becoming Whistler would be quite interesting.
Gretchen watched for a while and finally understood what Ding Ze was doing. Instantly, an overwhelming urge to vomit surged up into her throat.
Gretchen almost threw up, so she quickly turned her head away to avoid seeing it.
After a few seconds, suppressing the urge to vomit, Gretchen wanted to ask, and had to ask, "What the hell are you doing?"
Ding Ze didn't turn around, focusing on his work while laughing, "You've asked this question several times in such a short time."
“That’s because I really don’t understand what you’re doing!!” Gretchen yelled.
“Well, this is a simple problem. I’ll borrow Whistler’s face, become Whistler, and then you arrange for me to buy that card,” Ding Ze said casually.
The voice reached my ears.
Gretchen understood, and then, an uncontrollable chill ran through her body.
Doing something like that? That's a real betrayal of the company!!
The problem is.....
Things have come to this point: Whistler is not only a mole, but he's also fucking dead.
What will be the consequences if we don't agree to Ding Ze's request?
He's definitely going to die!
Damn it, I'm going to die either way!!
Gretchen felt like her head was about to explode, and for a moment she couldn't understand how things had escalated to the point where she was doomed.
Gou Ri.
Fxxk!
Gretchen cursed silently and viciously, then, not knowing what to say, she remained silent, focusing only on suppressing her nausea until Ding Ze finished.
Ten minutes later.
Ding Ze finished and put Whistler's face in the box for safekeeping. There were still some details to handle, but there was no need to rush.
Ding Ze got up, took out a cigarette and lit it, then called the employees outside to come in and dispose of Whistler's body.
Several employees walked in and saw Whistler's body. They couldn't help but feel a chill run down their spines, but they wisely said nothing. They simply carried Whistler's body out and then gently closed the door.
Ding Ze went into the bathroom, washed the blood off his hands, came out, sat down diagonally opposite Gretchen, took a drag of his cigarette, smiled at Gretchen, and said, "How about we talk?"
Gretchen's tolerance was quite strong; by this point, the nausea had largely subsided.
Gretchen looked at Ding Ze with an incredibly complicated expression. "What are you talking about?"
“Let’s talk about working for me. You have no choice now, you know that,” Ding Ze said, exhaling a puff of smoke. “However, I still hope you can work for me willingly, that would make it meaningful.”
Gretchen wanted to curse, but took a deep breath and held back. "I'm willing to work for you, but you have to guarantee my safety. Can you guarantee that?"
Ding Ze still smiled brightly and shook his head without hesitation, "I can't guarantee that in the short term."
Gretchen's mind went blank; she could hardly believe her ears. "What do you mean?"
“I need you to stay in the company. In a couple of days, I’ll go with you to complete that transaction, buy that card, and then I’ll give it to you, and you can give it to General Kranz.”
"In this way, the deal is successfully completed. General Kranz should not want to kill you anymore. Your position in the company will not only remain unaffected, but may even be improved."
"After that, once I'm ready, you'll act as my inside man, providing me with the necessary support so I can take it down smoothly in one fell swoop."
"After that, it won't be long before the company ceases to exist. Then I'll take it back, and you can work for me openly and legitimately."
"From now on, I can guarantee your safety."
Gretchen: "...The company is gone, and I don't need your assurances anymore!"
"Haha," Ding Ze laughed, "That's not necessarily true. There are so many dangers in this world. Who knows which danger might suddenly target you?"
