Peter didn't know whether Strange was being modest or telling the truth.
Regardless, since he made that assessment, it means that Ebony Maw's strength is indeed not to be underestimated.
Of course, Ebony Maw also has weaknesses.
He is very fragile.
As long as you can break through his telepathic defenses and get close to him, even an ordinary person's punch can hurt him!
As he spoke, Strange glanced at Peter.
As the saying goes, magic must be countered with magic.
And perhaps Peter's spider-sense could be used to counter Ebony Maw's telepathy?
“By the way, what about the others? They look like they’re our teammates?” Peter thought of the other three people he had drawn.
Although the three people, two men and one woman, did not look human, they were quite different from the Black Order described by Strange.
And judging from their positions, they seem to be on the same side, right?
But both Peter and Stark were certain they had never seen them.
“They are the Guardians of the Galaxy,” Strange said.
Chapter 173 Ragnarok
“Guardians of the Galaxy? What an arrogant name,” Stark retorted.
They only dare to shout the name "Avengers". Who are these people? They actually dare to call themselves "Guardians of the Galaxy"?
Strange chuckled: "The Guardians of the Galaxy are similar to your Avengers; they're both organizations formed by superhumans with a strong sense of justice, fighting against dark and evil forces. Its leader, Peter Quill, is an Earthling born in the 80s with Celestial hybrid genes."
"Does that mean they will be our potential allies?" Stark said.
“Yes, they each have their strengths,” Strange said. “And Thanos’s goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones and wipe out half the population of the universe. No one can escape unscathed!”
“In that case, Stephen, do you know where the Guardians of the Galaxy are based? Shall we go and talk to them face-to-face? Uh… why are you looking at me like that, Tony?” Peter was halfway through his sentence when he suddenly noticed Stark giving him a strange look.
Stark sighed. "Peter, do you know how big the Milky Way is?"
“Of course I know. The Milky Way is a flat disk-shaped galaxy that is thick in the middle and thin at the edges. It is about 10 light-years in diameter, about 1 light-years thick in the center, and about 3000 to 4000 light-years thick at the edges. It contains 1500 to 4000 billion stars and a large number of star clusters and nebulae, as well as various types of interstellar gas, interstellar dust and black holes,” Peter said as if reciting a familiar story.
He said that he had taken an astrophysics course when he graduated from high school. Although the content was not particularly in-depth, he still understood the basic content.
"So, how difficult is it to find a team whose name you only know in such a vast galaxy?" Stark countered.
“Uh…” Peter was momentarily speechless. He looked at Strange and said, “I think perhaps we could ask about magic?”
Strange shook his head: "I'm sorry, I don't know where they are either. And, you may have some misunderstandings. The so-called Guardians of the Galaxy are actually just a team of a few superhumans, not an army."
"Huh?" Stark and Peter were both dumbfounded.
They had assumed that this team, which claimed to be the guardian of an entire galaxy, must be a massive organization with an entire interstellar fleet.
Otherwise, how can we protect the Milky Way?
Is this the result?
How dare you use that name?!
"So, can you find the Hulk? Or contact Asgard?" Stark sensed the unreliability of this so-called Guardians of the Galaxy from Strange's description, and then thought of his two old friends.
Compared to the Guardians of the Galaxy, who seem to have a great reputation but whose actual combat strength is an unknown quantity, Stark is more willing to trust Hulk and Thor, who once fought alongside him.
Unfortunately, both of them disappeared more than a year ago.
Especially Hulk.
During their battle with Ultron, they were both mind-controlled by Wanda, causing Hulk to go berserk and become ostracized as a result.
Heartbroken, Hulk boards a Quinjet and heads into space.
Good heavens, although the Quinjet was indeed designed with space travel in mind, Stark never intended to actually fly it into space.
Sometimes he wondered if his old friends had already...
Strange said, "Don't worry, Hulk should be with Thor right now; they're both in Asgard."
Stark's eyes lit up at the words, and his tone was filled with joy: "Then what are we waiting for? I don't believe in that Guardians of the Galaxy, but if we can find Hulk and Thor, maybe we can deal with Thanos and his Black Order ourselves."
Strange shook his head: "Ragnarok is unfolding in Asgard, it is Asgard's destined fate. As for Hulk and Thor, they will also have their own missions. I'm telling you this so that you can do your own thing, not to cause trouble."
"Ragnarok? You mean the Ragnarok from Norse mythology?" Stark asked, pausing before instructing Friday to quickly search for relevant myths.
Strange nodded and said, "That's right, it's Ragnarok."
Stark suddenly panicked.
According to the prophecy of Ragnarok in Norse mythology, this Ragnarok will cause the death of many important gods, including Odin, Thor, Heimdall, Loki, and some other gods.
Odin, the king of the gods, is the ruler of Asgard and Thor's father.
Loki is Thor's brother.
Stark had heard the name Heimdall from Thor; he was said to be a god who could instantly teleport people to any place.
But the deaths of these three gods didn't affect Stark much.
He wasn't familiar with them.
He even fought with Loki, and Stark ultimately paid the price for the chaos Loki caused in New York.
But Thor is different.
Saul was his dearest friend and family!
They wouldn't sell it even if you offered them more money.
They had worked together several times, had parties together, and even shared terrible pizzas.
"Send me there. We'll deal with Ragnarok first, then face Thanos together!" Stark's tone was tinged with anxiety.
Strange subtly took a step back, still shaking his head.
“You cannot resolve Ragnarok; it is Asgard’s destiny,” Strange said. “Besides, this Ragnarok is not the same as the folk tales you know. Don’t worry.”
Stark calmed down a bit.
Strange said, "I had a brief conversation with Odin, the king of the gods, and he told me that their Ragnarok originated from his daughter, Hela, the goddess of death."
"Odin's daughter? Isn't that the princess of Asgard and Thor's sister?" Peter asked curiously. "Could it be that some evil force wanted to marry the princess, but Asgard refused, leading to a war that ultimately resulted in its destruction?"
Peter conjured up a "hero versus dragon" scenario in his mind:
-
The female version of Thor (I've never met Hela, but since they're siblings, they should look somewhat alike, right?) was snatched away by a spiky turtle.
Thor puts on his overalls and goes to the rescue.
After much effort, the older sister was finally rescued.
But this angered the spiky turtle.
Spiky Turtle gathers his henchmen to seek revenge.
In a great battle, Asgard was destroyed, and Ragnarok descended!
-
Strange: ? ?
"Hela is a goddess with a strong desire for conquest. According to the records of Kamar-Taj, she once helped Odin conquer countless civilizations, making Asgard the realm of the gods and Odin the king of the gods!"
Chapter 174 The Avengers Assemble!
"But later, she was exiled by Odin. And the throne of Asgard was passed to Thor."
"Now that she's back, what do you think she's here for?"
Strange said.
Peter and Stark both suddenly realized.
But if you hear that, Thor's father, who's called the King of the Gods, isn't exactly a good person either.
His daughter had made great contributions, but after achieving success, he kicked her aside and gave the throne to his son.
“Even Odin couldn’t stop her?” Stark said.
“Odin is dead,” Strange dropped a bombshell.
"What!"×2
Peter and Stark were both shocked.
This is a god-king from mythology, and the true king of all gods.
Judging from the immense strength Thor has displayed, his father is clearly a formidable figure as well.
And then, he actually died?
Peter then remembered that about six months ago, when he came to Strange's place, Strange told him that Thor and Loki had just left him.
