At the restaurant, Zhou Shengchen, Xiao Haiyang, and Lu Qiaochuan finished their meal, leaned back in their chairs, and all rubbed their stomachs in unison.

It feels so good to be full.

Meanwhile, the quiet and pretty Li Shuci was still eating her food in small bites. Compared to how Zhou Shengchen and the other two had been eating, her eating manners were truly pleasing to the eye.

Seeing the three boys sitting upright, Li Shuci asked with concern, "Are you three having stomach problems? If so, I have some digestive tablets in my bag."

Zhong Bai smiled and said, "Judging from Lu Qiaochuan's appearance, he shouldn't be in any discomfort."

Li Shuci nodded, looked at Xiao Haiyang and Zhou Shengchen, and asked, "What about you two?"

"It's alright!" Xiao Haiyang said after thinking for a moment.

Zhou Shengchen said, "I'm actually only about 80% full, so I don't feel uncomfortable at all."

Upon hearing this, Li Shuci stared wide-eyed at Zhou Shengchen's stomach with some curiosity!

Zhou Shengchen said with a smile, "I'm different from you guys. I've learned some martial arts, so I have a bigger appetite."

"You practice martial arts?" Zhong Bai looked somewhat surprised, then she carefully examined Zhou Shengchen and said, "I really didn't know that!"

"I practice yoga!" Zhou Shengchen said with a smile, seemingly joking.

"Oh."

The cute girl, Li Shuci, lowered her head and continued eating.

"No way?" Zhong Bai laughed: "Shu Ci, you actually believed his nonsense?"

"You're so cute, girl." Xiao Haiyang laughed too.

Seeing the girl lower her head shyly, Xiao Haiyang quickly changed the subject and shouted to the waiter, "Waiter, the bill. Also, a bowl of green pepper and shredded pork noodles, to go."

"I'll pay the bill!" Li Shuci said, looking up with a flourish.

"What a joke, how can you let a girl pay for a meal?" Xiao Haiyang said, reaching for his wallet.

At this moment, Lu Qiaochuan suddenly lowered his voice, put his head close to Xiao Haiyang's ear, and said to Xiao Haiyang that he had forgotten to bring money and asked Xiao Haiyang to help him pay for it.

Xiao Haiyang was about to agree when he realized he hadn't brought any money either. He immediately looked at Zhou Shengchen for help and lowered his voice as well: "Neither Lu Qiaochuan nor I brought any money. You can pay for it."

Before Zhou Shengchen could speak, Zhong Bai said, "Why don't we let Shuci pay the bill?"

“Shu Ci?” Xiao Haiyang frowned upon hearing this. “That name sounds familiar! I feel like I’ve heard it somewhere before.”

Lu Qiaochuan and Zhong Bai both looked at Xiao Haiyang.

Zhou Shengchen was speechless at Xiao Haiyang's antics and immediately reminded him, "Last night, he was in our class. The one who fell into my arms last night, remember?"

"Oh, it's her!" Xiao Haiyang exclaimed in realization.

"I did not do it on purpose."

Li Shuci looked at Zhou Shengchen, biting her lip lightly, a shy blush rising on her face.

Like a shy flower, delicate and radiant, it makes one want to kiss it.

Zhou Shengchen's lips curled up slightly: "It's okay if it's intentional. You're so cute and charming, I'm not going to lose out."

Li Shuci lowered his head and remained silent.

But the blush around her ears deepened.

"Hey, hey, hey! Don't bully her!" Zhong Bai suddenly said.

Zhou Shengchen glanced at her: "I was just joking with the pretty Shuci, how could I possibly bully a girl like her?"

"That would be best," Zhong Bai snorted.

"Table 10, your takeout noodles are ready." The waiter's voice suddenly rang out.

As the only boy at table number ten with money, Zhou Shengchen felt it was his duty to pay the bill, so he got up and went to pay.

After receiving the noodles packed for Yu Hao, Zhou Shengchen returned to the table and chatted briefly with Li Shuci and Zhong Bai before heading back to the dormitory with Lu Qiaochuan and Xiao Haiyang.

"Yu Hao, come down for dinner."

Upon arriving at the dormitory, Zhou Shengchen placed the noodles on Yu Hao's table and then walked towards Bi Shisan.

"Hello, my name is Zhou Shengchen, Zhou as in the name of the Zhou emperor and Shengchen as in the name of the birthday tribute. It's a pleasure to meet you."

"Hello, my name is Bi Shisan, Bi as in graduation, and Shisan as in 123... 13."

The two shook hands, and that was it.

On the other hand, Yu Hao refused to eat, saying that Xiao Haiyang and Lu Qiaochuan bothered him, which made him feel bad, so he didn't want to eat.

Zhou Shengchen was speechless after hearing this. "I paid for these noodles and brought them with me. What do they have to do with Xiao Haiyang and Lu Qiaochuan? Yu Hao, why aren't you eating them?"

"Yes. Zhou Shengchen bought it."

"Brother Hao, come down and eat quickly, or it will get soggy and won't taste good."

Xiao Haiyang and Lu Qiaochuan exchanged a glance and quickly tried to persuade him, but to no avail; Yu Hao still refused to come down for dinner.

At the critical moment, Bi Shisan stood up like a hero. "Once upon a time, there was a shepherd boy who would shout 'Wolf!' to the villagers when he wasn't eating."

"Are you telling a fable?"

Xiao Haiyang asked somewhat uncertainly.

Bi Shisan didn't have time to pay attention to him, and continued, "The next day, the child still refused to eat and shouted 'Wolf!' to the villagers, but when they came, they found there was no wolf..."

Xiao Haiyang frowned, puzzled, and asked, "Why are you emphasizing not eating?"

Unfortunately, Bi Shisan still ignored him and continued telling his fable: "On the third day, the child still refused to eat and shouted to the villagers that the wolf was coming. When the villagers came, they found that there was no wolf."

"See, you emphasized it again."

Needless to say, it was Xiao Haiyang who said those words.

Bi Shisan ignored him once again: "On the fourth day, the child refused to eat and continued to shout 'Wolf!' to the villagers, but they ignored him. In the end, the wolf really came and ate the child."

Upon hearing this, Yu Haofei jumped out of bed, opened his lunchbox, and began to eat heartily.

Bi Shisan glanced at him and said, "The fable I just told teaches us a lesson."

“I know!” Xiao Haiyang answered quickly, “Yu Hao only eats when he’s listening to fables.”

Bi Shisan: "Wrong! This fable tells us..."

“People who don’t eat will die,” Zhou Shengchen interjected.

Chapter Seventeen: Fan Xiaoyu's Tears

"Huh?" Bi Shisan paused, then turned to look at Zhou Shengchen: "That's right."

Yu Hao paused in his eating. He hadn't expected that someone would give the correct answer the first time they heard the fable. It was simply too incredible.

Lu Qiaochuan looked completely bewildered. What kind of nonsensical fable has a correct answer?

Having spent two years in college and encountered many strange and unusual people, Xiao Haiyang laughed and said, "That's amazing! Zhou Shengchen, how did you come up with that?"

Zhou Shengchen said calmly, "Because Bi Shisan and I are the same kind of people, I can think of that."

"A fellow human?" Xiao Haiyang looked at Zhou Shengchen with a puzzled expression.

Yu Hao and the others also turned their attention to Zhou Shengchen.

Zhou Shengchen said calmly, "Bi Shisan and I are both intelligent people, so I can understand his parable."

Xiao Haiyang: "...Are you saying I'm stupid?"

Yu Hao: "..."

Bi Shisan thought to himself, "These words resonate with me perfectly."

Lu Qiaochuan: "...I probably, should, seem, maybe understood just now, so I'm a smart person too."

"You guys play first, I'm going downstairs for a walk to digest my food," Zhou Shengchen said, getting up and walking out.

"Don't forget to pick up your military training uniform," Lu Qiaochuan reminded him.

"Understood!" Zhou Shengchen said.

Upon arriving near the school's playground, Zhou Shengchen discovered that the area was shaded by trees, with pavilions reflected in the water, creating a very beautiful environment.

Zhou Shengchen walked around the playground for a while and came to a small river.

The river is about ten meters wide, and the water flows directly outside the school.

The surrounding environment is very natural, with water birds singing, lush bamboo groves on the bank, and a babbling brook flowing down the path. The whole environment is quiet and cool, making people feel comfortable, relaxed, and happy.

A river breeze blew by, bringing a touch of coolness and the scent of mud. Zhou Shengchen faced the wind, letting it gently ruffle his jet-black hair.

"I never expected there to be such beautiful scenery inside the school. I'm so glad I came." Zhou Shengchen walked lightly to the riverbank.

Finding a large rock near the water, Zhou Shengchen sat down on it, but instead of staying idle, he threw his slippers aside and put his feet into the cool river water.

"so comfortable!"

Zhou Shengchen suddenly lay down and leisurely began to admire the beautiful scenery of the sky.

The azure sky was as if washed clean, breathtakingly beautiful, and the white clouds, like silken threads, danced and flew leisurely, making him feel as if he were in a dream.

The sunlight reflected on the calm river surface, leaving a crimson ribbon in the water. A water bird swooped into the water, and the ribbon immediately spread out, turning into countless shimmering waves.

After playing around for a while, Zhou Shengchen put on his slippers, stepped onto the path by the river, and continued walking slowly.

Suddenly, he noticed a familiar face sitting in an armchair not far ahead.

"Fan Xiaoyu?"

Zhou Shengchen looked at the beautiful woman and frowned slightly, because he noticed that her eyes were red and tears were falling from time to time.

Zhou Shengchen silently walked over and sat down next to Fan Xiaoyu. He took out a tissue and handed it to her without saying a word.

Looking at the paper that had suddenly appeared in front of her, and then glancing at the somewhat familiar person beside her, Fan Xiaoyu took it, wiped away her tears, calmed herself down, and said, "Please excuse my foolishness."

Zhou Shengchen comforted him, "Everyone has unhappy times, there's nothing to laugh about. Are you facing any difficulties? If so, you can tell me about them."
