Chapter 37 Data Analysis
Chapter 37 Data Analysis
The workshop's heavy metal doors closed completely behind the Mann team, isolating them from the noise and distractions of the outside world.
The interior space was once again filled with the low hum of precision machinery and the steady rhythm of energy flow. The air was mixed with ozone, coolant, and a faint, slightly musty metallic smell that had just been brought up from the underground facility.
Chen Yu's attention was completely drawn to the lone cylindrical memory on the workbench.
Its outer shell is cold, and the interface shimmers with a faint aura of energy from the insulating layer, like a slow heartbeat, hinting at the extraordinary nature of what is sealed within.
“A complete, highly autonomous, roaming AI…” Chen Yu’s deep and steady voice came from under the visor, with an almost ritualistic solemnity. “Under the Empire’s strict prohibition, it would be almost impossible to access such a valuable research sample that is comparable to the Abomination AI. I never thought that I would be able to obtain such a valuable research sample in this world.”
"Old friend, activate the highest level of data isolation protocol, connect to the backup analytics array, and establish a data sandbox."
"Command confirmed. Isolation protocol activated, analysis array ready." The servo skull, which Chen Yu called "old buddy," had a gleam in its eyes as it quickly deployed multiple data and logic isolation layers, while simultaneously preparing a series of complex analysis probes.
Chen Yu's mechanical tentacle flexibly deformed, and a sophisticated universal data interface extended from its front end, smoothly and firmly connecting to the physical port of the memory.
The moment the connection is established—
A cold, swift, and highly aggressive stream of data, like a venomous snake that has been lying in wait for a long time, suddenly leaps out from the depths of the memory!
It was a purely digital attack, with highly efficient cracking algorithms attempting to tear apart the interface firewall; logic bombs probing everywhere, searching for system vulnerabilities; and even a sharp simulated consciousness signal rushing straight to Chen Yu's neural interface, intending to invade the core of his mind.
If it were an ordinary internet user in this world, or even a top hacker, under the sudden attack of this top creation from the old-era corporate wars, their consciousness would probably collapse in an instant, turning them into a manipulated shell.
However, Chen Yu's core thinking is the product of rigorous logical training in forging the world and being tempered in the face of various abnormal technological threats.
His neural pathways are surrounded by multiple firewalls of thought and logical barriers.
The invading stream of consciousness collided not with fragile biological neurons, but with cold, absolutely rational, and solid barriers constructed of rigorous logic and mathematical rules.
Chen Yu's optical lens did not flicker at all, and his processing core completed the threat assessment and countermeasure deployment within nanoseconds.
“A crude attack pattern.” He silently commented within his internal circuitry, a barely perceptible hint of disappointment even flashing across his face—the attack lacked the sophistication and depth he had anticipated, and was disappointingly clumsy.
The counterattack is about to begin.
It didn't use sophisticated viruses or fancy electronic warfare techniques, but rather pure data crushing.
A highly compressed stream of binary data, like a hammer blow, crashes backward into the memory along the connection channel!
This force brutally dismantled the carefully constructed attack code of the roving AI, forcibly overwriting the AI's core instruction area with its irrefutable logical priority.
The process is direct and efficient, like using an absolutely correct formula to cover up an incorrect calculation.
The resistance of the roaming AI was like ice crystals thrown into a raging fire, quickly melting away.
Those signals that attempted to invade the core of the mind disintegrated and dissipated on their own when they came into contact with Chen Yu's mental barrier, which had been forged by extremely rigorous logic.
The entire process lasted about twenty seconds.
The indicator light at the memory interface, which had been flashing incessantly, stabilized and eventually turned into a soft green light, signifying a controlled state. "Threat eliminated. Target core protocol forcibly overwritten and locked; highest privileges successfully acquired," Chen Yu announced calmly, as if he had simply completed a routine system maintenance.
The servo skull hovered silently to the side, recording this brief and predictable confrontation.
"Attack pattern analysis: It possesses basic adaptive learning and logical deception capabilities, and its attack vector selection is acceptable, but the core algorithm is inefficient and lacks redundant design to cope with high-intensity logical attacks." Chen Yu pulled up the adversarial log and quickly browsed through it.
"Its offensiveness and defensive resilience are far below the underlying combat logic of the standard intelligent mechs of the Intelligent Control Legion. It is also incomparable to the malicious programs driven by those corrupt members of the Dark Mechanicus, or the useless code attacks developed by certain academic heretics."
He couldn't help but recall his years as a thinking machine monk in the Intelligent Control Mech Squadron.
The complexity of the core logic and the potential for rage of those massive imperial war machines far exceed the capabilities of this wandering AI trapped in a tiny memory.
While the Sages of Domination adhere to the Crimson Protocol and never create Abominations with true self-awareness, they possess a profound (though somewhat rigid) technological foundation in the creation, control, and even destruction of powerful automated combat units.
“However,” Chen Yu changed the subject, his crimson optical lens focusing once again on the memory, “precisely because its technology level is relatively ‘basic’ and current computing power is limited, it has become an ideal research sample.”
In the Warhammer universe, delving into the study of truly powerful Abominations would be tantamount to playing with fire, not only violating the Imperial's ironclad rules but also potentially leading to annihilation.
Those dark creations entangled with forbidden knowledge are fraught with unpredictable risks of contamination.
But this roaming AI is different.
Its technological foundation is still largely within the scope of Chen Yu's thorough understanding and complete control.
Like a scholar well-versed in advanced mathematics trying to solve a complex problem that does not exceed the known mathematical framework, it is challenging but not risky.
“It is safe to disassemble it, analyze its core program architecture, observe its learning and adaptation mechanisms, and even… attempt limited ‘reprogramming’.” In Chen Yu’s mind, the researcher’s desire to explore gradually replaced the previous slight disappointment.
This is not just a trophy, but a treasure trove. This data is of immeasurable value for him to improve his skills, adapt to this cyberpunk world, and even plan for a longer-term goal.
"Old friend, conduct a deep analysis of the AI's core code structure, learning algorithm, and how it interacts with the local network protocol within the data sandbox. Be sure to record any abnormal data fluctuations and potential logical pitfalls."
"Command received, sandbox environment built... analysis process started..." The servo skull began executing Chen Yu's commands.
The code of the roving AI was like a meticulously dissected specimen, unfolding layer by layer before his eyes.
He became engrossed in it, patiently dissecting this dangerous digital soul from the old era, like a meticulous scientist exploring its deepest inner mechanisms.
Inside the workshop, only the subtle sounds of data flowing and the almost imperceptible, focused, and steady sound of Chen Yu's respirator as he immersed himself in his analytical work remained.
