Then, Patriarch Bodhi asked, "What do you think of Wukong?"

Back when Laozi of Taiqing was teaching the Great Dao of Golden Elixir in the ancestral land of the human race, he said that Xuandu possessed a pure heart that was rarely seen even throughout the ages.

"As for the Jie Sect, as the opposite of the Chan Sect, without the Jie Sect, it would be like heaven and earth having yin but no yang. How could the Chan Sect's right to interpret the Dao of Heaven be highlighted?"

"These two are both enemies of the Great Dao and each other's most important fellow Daoists!"

"However, if they want to go further, their paths must eventually be decided, just like the yin and yang cycle in the universe!"

"All things in heaven and earth revolve endlessly, with periods of prosperity and decline. When prosperity reaches its peak, decline is inevitable, and when decline reaches its peak, prosperity is inevitable. These two, as the fundamental Dao, are also like this, and they will manifest differently at different times!"

Xuan Yin seemed to understand something and tentatively asked, "Does the way of the sage change with the times?"

"That's right!"

The Bodhi Patriarch nodded and said, "The Tao that can be spoken of is not the eternal Tao; the name that can be named is not the eternal name! All things in heaven and earth are actually moving forward!"

"Sages are not bound by cause and effect, but their disciples are not immune to its constraints!"

"The future of the Chan and Jie sects will inevitably be filled with constant struggle. I only hope that, in the struggle for the Great Dao, no matter which of you gains the upper hand, you must not exterminate the other and leave them a way out!"

Upon hearing this, Xuan Yin immediately nodded. Then he thought of Duobao, Yunxiao, and Wudang. Although the Jie Sect lost the Investiture of the Gods, the Jie Sect's lineage was not severed and there was still a chance for its inheritance.

His senior uncle, perhaps having witnessed all of this, sided with the Chan Sect and the Primordial Heavenly Venerable during the Investiture of the Gods.

Nothing more than profit!

Even sages are human. Since they are human, how can they just stand by and watch their disciples face calamity?
