Chapter 6: Secret Prayer

When Luze came out of the room, the scene had been cleaned up. The altar, covered in blood and flesh, was gone, and police officers were wiping the floor. Sirius's body, wrapped in a white sheet, was carried out the door by several police officers.

"team leader."

Upon seeing Dunn, the green-eyed night watchman stepped forward to greet him, "What do you mean?"

He slightly raised his chin and pointed at Lu Ze, asking Dunn for his opinion on how to handle the situation.

"Safe for now."

Dunn replied, "They are just innocent people who were dragged into this."

"Now that everything is alright, can my brother and I leave?"

Cecilia ran to Luze's side, took his arm, and asked.

"I'm sorry, that's not possible."

Dunn said gently but firmly, “You two must come with me.”

Cecilia frowned her beautiful eyebrows.

Her tone was harsh, even somewhat rude, as she unconsciously tightened her grip on Lu Ze's hand. "Do we need to pay bail? Officer, we're penniless right now; you can't get anything out of us."

Cecilia's small body trembled as she stood in front of Luzer, glaring at Dunn like a mother tigress protecting her cubs. In fact, she had strongly protested when Dunn wanted to question Luzer alone, but Luzer had calmed her down. Now that her hopes of leaving had been dashed, her pent-up resentment erupted.

Dunn looked calmly at the little girl who had provoked him, his face showing no anger whatsoever; on the contrary, his expression was very gentle.

"Calm down, Cecilia, it's not like that."

Lu Ze quickly interrupted his sister, "It's because there are still bad people getting away with it, and Mr. Dunn is protecting us."

After greeting the busy police officers at the scene, the three night watchmen, along with the Londor siblings, left Sirius's house. Two carriages were already waiting for them outside. Luze, Dunn, and the green-eyed night watchman boarded one carriage, while Cecilia and the brown-eyed night watchman boarded another. To avoid suspicion, a policewoman was also placed in that carriage.

Opening the car door, you'll find a thick carpet inside, and it seems to be scented with fragrance, emitting a soft aroma that instantly puts you at ease.

The interior decoration is really nice, much more upscale than the exterior.
Lu Ze thought to himself, then looked up and was suddenly jolted.

Deep inside the carriage hung a peculiar badge, about the size of his sister's fist. The badge was deep black, adorned with countless stars that surrounded exactly half of a crimson moon. Overall, the badge appeared lofty and sacred, the "Holy Emblem of Night," symbolizing the goddess of night.

The instant Lu Ze's gaze met the badge, the badge suddenly emitted an invisible wave that pierced directly into his body. This was why Lu Ze's body suddenly trembled.

The invisible fluctuation circulated within his body and then disappeared without anything happening.

Lu Ze thought to himself, but when he turned around, he saw the two night watchmen staring intently at him, their hands on their weapons.

"what happened?"

He couldn't help but ask.

“Even the Goddess’s gaze didn’t detect anything unusual about you, so it seems you’re really alright.” Dunn looked at him quietly for a few seconds, then relaxed and said calmly, “Get in the car, just sit wherever you like.”

He spoke lightly, but Lu Ze's eyes widened.

It turned out they hadn't completely trusted him yet; instead, they had prepared reconnaissance methods and planned to launch a surprise attack when he relaxed his guard.

Dunn nodded. "However, the specific details will depend on Klein, the Night Watcher in the car over there, who performed a divination. He is a Sequence 9 'Diviner'."

A fortune teller? That sounds like a very impressive profession. I wonder how far he can go. He shouldn't be able to discover my secrets, otherwise they would have already captured me and dissected me for research.

Lu Ze thought to himself, half fearful and half relieved.
