Chapter 12 Let's Go to the Snack Shop!
The classroom door closed again.
Li Ji stood outside the door, and he could clearly see Dai Lulu's eyes.
The black pupils dilated and became round, leaving only a thin blue outline around them.
Dailulu put her hands on her hips: "My supernova cat."
"I didn't expect you to actually pass, meow."
Li Ji's eyeballs drooped slightly: "I told you I got 100 points, but you didn't believe me."
Dailulu chuckled softly: "Heh."
"This joke is still hilarious even on the second listen, meow."
Li Ji was too lazy to explain. He knew how bad his image was, and if Professor Wilde hadn't told Delulu himself, she wouldn't have believed it.
Dailu stretched out a big yawn, her body as supple as a cat's.
"I was most worried about the two of you. I'm relieved to see that you both passed, meow."
"Long and thin strips are definitely fine."
Shark Baby jumped up and down excitedly: "Thank you for your concern, class monitor. We're planning to celebrate at the food shop on asteroid number three, do you want to come along?"
Dailulu quickly waved her hand: "No need, meow. I have something to do. I have an appointment with Nini and the others for a group meeting. I have to go now, meow."
Li Ji breathed a sigh of relief. He didn't want any girls to disturb the boys' activities; that would make the atmosphere strange.
Shark Baby excitedly shouted, "The first and second place in the class have teamed up! Class monitor, your group is amazing!"
Dailu raised her chin slightly, her proud smile barely concealed: "Not only first and second place, but all four of them are in our group, meow! We must get a high score, meow! You guys have to do your best too, meow!"
The three said their goodbyes in haste.
Dailulu had only run two steps when she suddenly turned around sharply, her red dress fluttering like a flower.
"Oh, right, meow. Just a reminder, in six Alliance days, we'll be going to Earth for our first outdoor research mission, meow. Remember to form teams of three to four people, meow. And remember to report back to me tonight, meow."
Li Ji watched as the woman in red quickly disappeared at the end of the corridor.
"What a decisive and efficient catwoman, meow."
"How did I get led astray?"
Shark Baby jumped in front of Li Ji and started running around in place at high speed, as if it was going to collapse the floor.
"Li Ji, let's go eat something. I'm starving."
"Aren't you waiting for the long and thin strips?" Li Ji asked politely.
"Just send him a message."
Li Ji reached his tentacles into the pocket of his silver uniform and pulled out a round, black communicator.
It's like a summoning device from Digimon, with functions similar to a mobile phone.
Many students use implantable communicators, which project image signals directly onto the retina.
The original owner was a poor man who couldn't afford such high-end gadgets.
The glass screen lit up, and Li Ji scrolled through his contacts.
The awkward thing is that I don't have any friends who are long and thin.
Not only that, he doesn't even have any friends with Shark Baby.
Of all the students in the department, he only added Dailulu as an acquaintance, and that was only because she held an electromagnetic gun to his forehead.
"I don't have him as a friend."
"Then let me do it."
Shark Baby opened its blood-red maw and spat out a white signal device covered in mucus.
Take advantage of Shark Baby's time to leave a long, thin message.
Li Ji silently sent friend requests to all his classmates.
The verification message read: "Hello, I'm Li Ji, a fellow student in the same major. I got 100 points on my Earth Human Behavior exam, and I hope to have the opportunity to team up with you."
With over a hundred students in the class, he frantically rubbed his eight antennae up and down, almost making the screen smoke.
There was a "ding dong" sound.
Shark's eyes lit up, and she shouted excitedly, "A new friend request!"
"Great, I have a new friend!"
"Hello classmate, I'm Li Ji, a fellow student in the same major. I got 100 on my Earth Human Behavior exam, and I hope we can team up sometime."
Li Ji was so busy adding people that he didn't check their names. Shark had invited him to team up, but he immediately sent out a group request.
The situation was so awkward that he wanted to slap himself.
He glanced at Shark Treasure out of the corner of his eye with all three of his eyes.
Shark looked up, the screen's light illuminating his expressionless face.
"Li Ji, how could you—"
"You got 100 points!"
A huge smile spread across Shark's face, and its black eyes turned into little stars.
"I'd love to team up with you!"
Lee Ki gave an awkward laugh.
Shark's silly behavior made him feel a little ashamed. But then he thought, compared to those outstanding people who were unknown, Shark's simplicity and trust in his partner were the best.
"Hurry up! There won't be any seats if you're late."
Shark Baby grabbed Li Ji's tentacle with its mouth and charged out like a husky that had broken free of its reins.
Li Ji frantically waved his tentacles to keep up, otherwise he would have been dragged along.
They moved through the cabin aisle like the wind.
They almost knocked over a 15-meter-tall one-legged alien.
It even blew a classmate, who was a gaseous being, to pieces.
In the end, Li Ji couldn't keep up with Shark's speed and was dragged along the way.
Seven long trails of slime were left on the ground.
They finally stopped at the school's space station.
Li Ji collapsed to the ground, breathing heavily through his long, pointed mouth, which emitted a series of whistling sounds.
My choice was right; the land shark has exceptional mobility and is useful on Earth.
For example, if you don't have a means of transportation, you can ride the Shark, which isn't much slower than a certain Xiaomi.
Lee Ki untied the three knotted glasses, and the surrounding environment brightened his eyes.
The surrounding area consisted of black metal walls with various colored pipes exposed, resembling the exit of a spaceship from an interstellar mothership.
Dozens of spaceships of various shapes and sizes were parked on the deck.
The small, single-person spaceship, resembling a miniature airplane, came to a smooth stop, and the short lizardman jumped off.
The circular flying saucer, 100 meters in diameter, was covered with a ring of green spotlights that flashed continuously.
The air was filled with a strong, sweet, fishy smell—the smell of ozone mixed with volatile metals produced by the spaceship's fuel.
Directly ahead was a huge, open hatch.
Outside was the dark, boundless space, like an endless curtain, densely covered with stars of all colors.
The distant stars emitted a bright yet indifferent light.
It was bright, but appeared soft because of the distance.
The planets are scattered all around, like balls of different sizes, making you want to reach out and catch them.
In the distance, a pale yellow planet is encased in a ring of stars, like the hazy sleeves of a god.
Nearby, spaceships were taking off and landing all over the dark red planet, and various buildings on the desolate planet could be seen.
"Li Ji, hurry up and get on the boat, it's about to depart!"
Looking in the direction of the sound, Shark was gritting its teeth and clinging to the hatch of a bus-shaped spaceship.
The ship is large, about 50 meters high and roughly 120 meters long.
A long strip of transparent glass window runs along the triangular prism-shaped hull, leaving a pale blue ribbon in the silver hull.
The three tail fins at the stern spread out along a triangle, with elliptical jets mounted on each side.
The spaceship emitted a dull thud.
It began to glide, gradually moving away from Li Ji.
Also disappearing into the distance was Shark Baby, waving its little blue claws.
Li Ji quickly sped up his run.
But he couldn't keep up with the gliding speed of the spaceship.
As the spaceship glided further and further away, he knew that once it flew out of the hatch and started jet propulsion, he would really be unable to catch up.
Suddenly, a blue object fell from the spaceship.
Upon closer inspection, Li Ji realized it was indeed Shark Baby.
"This idiot, is he waiting for me to jump ship?"
He accelerated with all his might, and with a leap, he managed to catch Shark Baby.
Li Ji rolled around on the ground several times before stopping.
His three eyes squinted, his eyelids pressing down on his eyeballs, as he scolded the little shark in his arms, "Why did you jump ship for me?"
“I can wait for the next train. If I don’t catch you, you’ll break your leg.”
Shark awkwardly pointed behind him.
"I got on the wrong ship. Theirs is a large public transport ship, which doesn't dock at asteroids."
"If I don't jump, I'll end up in another star system."
"Which boat are we going to take?"
Li Ji turned around and saw a small, dilapidated flying saucer with a diameter of 20 meters.
There are only a few lights left that can still be turned on.
The penguin pilot, dressed in an orange uniform, kicked the front headlight.
A green light flashed.
With a bang, the light bulb exploded and rolled right in front of Li Ji.
The thick-browed penguin shouted sharply, "Hey! You over there, jelly, kick the light bulb back!"
