Chapter 2 Attacked
"Damn it, would it kill you to hold on for a few more seconds?!" Su Ming wanted to curse, but he didn't know who to curse. He had inexplicably come to a strange place, and who knew what dangers might be lurking around.

"No, there's still one more chance!" He suddenly remembered that figure; that mysterious person must have passed through this hall!
"The wormhole was most likely built by that person—" Su Ming murmured, a renewed hope rising in his heart. Although crushed by the truck, the mysterious man's ability to summon bone prisons and create wormholes meant he might not be dead. He immediately climbed down from the truck and began searching underneath.

Soon, Su Ming found his target.

The situation was worse than expected. The unfortunate time traveler, on whom he had placed so much hope, was stuck motionless in the gap between the wheels in a bizarre posture, like a crushed doll.

Su Ming called out a few times, but there was no response. He grabbed a crowbar, mustered his courage, and crawled to the injured man's side, only to find that he was an old man with white hair and beard. Although he might just look human, at least he wasn't some kind of weird alien, and Su Ming's anxious heart was slightly relieved.

The old man's face was deathly pale, though it was also possible that his skin was naturally that pale. Su Ming checked him; there was no breathing or pulse. Although he was in some unknown otherworld, and it was uncertain whether the other man even had a heartbeat or a pulse, the sight of blood everywhere and twisted limbs made it impossible for Su Ming to be optimistic.

"Rest in peace!" Su Ming decided to give up after all. He put his hands together and said, "Next time you travel through time, remember to learn the traffic rules first."

After saying that, he began searching the old man's body, hoping to find something useful. He found a backpack on the old man's side and immediately began to search it diligently.

Behind him, the old man suddenly twitched, and faint lines appeared all over his body. The old man opened his eyes and raised his stiff arm.

"Get out of there!" A cold female voice suddenly rang in Su Ming's mind.

Su Ming looked up in surprise and saw that the once quiet "corpse" had its hands bent into claws and was reaching for him. "Whoa!!!" He was so frightened that he grabbed a crowbar and struck the old man on the head, then scrambled out from under the car and ran far away.

Su Ming watched in horror as the old man continued to struggle under the car wheel after being hit by a crowbar. "This, this, he's not dead!"

"No, Galio, the visitor from another world, is already dead." The female voice rang in Su Ming's mind again. "He was seriously injured before he transmigrated. He was crushed by your alchemical behemoth and died when he crashed back."

"But he's still moving!" Without time to correct the other party's misunderstanding about the "alchemical behemoth," Su Ming pointed at the old man and shouted.

“Galio has a magical mark on his body,” the female voice explained. “It allows him to transform into a lich after death, preventing him from being killed accidentally.”

As she spoke, wisps of gray mist rose from Galio's body, his sunken chest began to swell, and his severed arms began to reassemble.

“Another mark, haunted by the undead,” the woman said. “He is healing himself.”

Magic? Is this a magical world? Su Ming felt a headache coming on. On Earth, he was at least a college student, but in this magical world, he was even worse than a lousy student.

He's a purebred Muggle!
Amidst the magical aura of the lich transformation, the old mage raised his head, his eyes bloodshot as he glared at Su Ming.

"Is he trying to kill me?" Su Ming asked, puzzled.

“You ruined Galio’s escape plan and turned him into a lich, of course he’s going to kill you,” the female voice explained.

"Do you think we wanted to hit him?" Su Ming said aggrievedly. "I'm the victim here, okay!" He looked at the crowbar in his hand, wondering if he should strike first.

“Complete lichification will take quite some time,” the female voice said, as if talking to herself. “Although it can be repaired, it would be troublesome if the head were smashed.”

"Uh, you know what I'm thinking?" Su Ming asked in surprise. "We're communicating through telepathic synchronization. Otherwise, how do you think we communicate, you from another world?"

Su Ming clearly felt the girl roll her eyes at him.

"It doesn't matter whether you speak or not," the woman's voice continued. "Of course, don't let your mind wander to anything too complicated, or I'll get very tired."

"……it is good."

"In short, I'm just a friendly passerby who chatted with you out of curiosity, trying to educate this visitor from another world about local customs," the woman said earnestly. "I have absolutely no request for you to do anything that would be detrimental to Galio."

Su Ming had the feeling that the other party was wearing layers of armor.

"Continuing our previous topic, Galio was a powerful dark magic mage in his lifetime. However, the good news is that he cannot cast spells before the transformation is complete, and he is not in his right mind. He can only be considered a brute-force undead creature."

Su Ming often moved goods and equipment at the factory, and also played basketball from time to time, so he could be considered fairly strong. He gripped the crowbar tightly, encouraging himself.

Just as Su Ming was about to step forward, a creaking sound rang out. Galio, whose arm had been completely repaired, held up the tire with both hands and forcefully pushed a gap between the tire and the ground.

Then, it twisted and turned, trying to move its body out from under the wheel.

"Damn it!" Su Ming turned around and rushed forward, slamming a crowbar into Galio's arm. This severely affected Galio, and seeing that he had a chance, Su Ming quickly slammed the crowbar three or four more times with all his might. Galio couldn't hold on any longer, and the truck fell back onto him.

Several cracking sounds of ribs breaking rang out, but Galio's chest didn't even collapse much.

The truck had 18 tires, each bearing an average pressure of about 3 tons. But Galio only broke a few ribs, and Su Ming finally realized his naiveté.

“That,” he told the woman, “I can’t break it.”

"I'm sorry, otherworldly being, I mistakenly judged you by the standards of warriors here." The female voice also revealed disappointment. "I thought that being able to control such a huge alchemical beast meant you were at least equivalent to a high-ranking warrior in terms of strength."

"I'm a weakling, I can't even lift a wheel!" Su Ming backed away, but dared not run away. If Galio escaped the truck's hold, he would be dead for sure. "Is there any other way?"

"Hmm—if you climb onto the train carriage during a fight and jump down to stab with a weapon, wouldn't the destructive power be much greater?"

Su Ming quickly climbed onto the roof of the car, jumped up and stabbed downwards with all his might, luckily hitting Galio in the head.

Then, his arms went numb from the recoil, the crowbar flew from his hands, and he fell to the ground. Galio, on the other hand, only let out a scream; a dent appeared on his head, which was quickly repaired by a necromancy spell.

"Even the undead here are this tough!" Su Ming gritted his teeth and said, "Just how bizarre a world did I transmigrate into!"
