Chapter 9 Ways to Make Money
"Celia? Celia?"

"Well……"

Hearing someone call her name, Celia groggily opened her eyes, only to realize with a start that she seemed to have fallen asleep again.

As her thoughts returned, she quickly realized that she was learning sleep meditation from Ross, and as soon as she tried it, she fell asleep.

"Excuse me, Mr. Ross, I think I've fallen asleep."

"It's normal to fall asleep; you'll get used to it after a few more practice sessions."

Rose didn't care.

"Today I'll first check your course and learning progress, and later I'll tailor a practice method for you."

A question mark appeared above Celia's head.

"?"

"Follow my method, learn those passive skills for cultivation first, and cultivation will be easier later."

"Wait, Ross, what's wrong...?"

"I'll customize a training method just for you to quickly improve your strength. Any questions?"

"This doesn't seem to be in the contract... does it?" Celia had a bad feeling.

"Think about what you wish for."

"Make a magic puppet before the final exam to take the test..."

"Yes, only the puppets don't pass the school and Holy Court exams so easily, right? Improving one's strength is also part of passing the exams."

"Uh……"

That's a valid point of view, but Celia always felt that Ross teaching her couldn't be that simple.

"Don't you want to defeat all your opponents and become a saint?"

"Yes!" Celia replied without hesitation.

"Then learn it. Don't worry, what I'm teaching you are all common abilities. Even if the God King himself came, he wouldn't find any problems."

"..." It would have been better if she hadn't said anything, because the more she talked, the more uneasy Celia felt.

"Celia? Are you alright?"

A concerned voice reached her ears, and Celia looked up to find Enarse looking at her with concern.

"I'm fine... Huh? The meditation class is over?"

To her surprise, Celia found that the instructor had already left, and the others were packing up or leaving in twos and threes, preparing to head to the next teaching area.

“It’s over. I saw you were sleeping… lost in meditation, so I came to wake you.”

"Thank you. By the way, didn't the teacher say anything?"

Celia was certain that she had accidentally fallen asleep and hadn't meditated. Given how strict the meditation instructor was, she would definitely have been woken up, and if she did it again, she was guaranteed to be publicly punished.

But I slept soundly until the end of get out of class...

“She didn’t say anything, it’s just…” Enarse hesitated for a moment.

"what?"

"Mill was taken outside by Instructor Nelson to avoid being punished, and I don't know what happened."

"What?"

Just then, Mill walked in from outside, looking dejected, and walked over with a grimacing expression.

“Professor Nelson is too ruthless,” he complained to Celia.

Just as Celia was about to speak, Ross's voice came into her mind, "You accidentally fell asleep just now, and I gave you a little guidance so that you temporarily mastered the ability to meditate while sleeping. Your mentor didn't say anything, but this classmate of yours said that you were sleeping, and then willingly took the punishment in your place. He was dragged out by the mentor for talking in class and made to meditate outside."

Celia hurriedly asked, "Then why does he look like he's been beaten?"

"Look again."

Celia was stunned for a moment. Upon closer inspection, she found that there was no sign of being hit on Mir's body. His listless expression... if you didn't look closely, you would think he was in great pain. But upon closer inspection, it turned out that he was faking it.

It's all routines.

"Ainars, let's go to the Holy Word classroom, or we'll be late."

"Oh, oh, okay." Seeing that Celia not only didn't care about him, but didn't even say a word, Mil got anxious: "Hey, Celia, I took the punishment for you when you slept in class, and you didn't even say thank you?"

He was speaking very loudly, which caused the students who hadn't left yet to look over.

Celia clenched her fists and turned to question, "Mil Deville, you were punished for talking in class, what does that have to do with me? I was just meditating normally, why would the teacher punish me?"

Sleeping doesn't mean I don't meditate!
She was so angry that she complained to Ross in her heart: "This guy knows perfectly well that a saintess must remain pure and flawless, yet he still keeps bothering me. He must have been sent by one of the other prospective saintesses to cause me trouble!"

Ross glanced at Mill thoughtfully.

Mir blushed and said, "I...I didn't. I saw you were sleeping and the teacher was about to hit you, so I talked to get the teacher's attention."

"Why are you looking at me instead of meditating during your meditation class?"

"I...I want to be your knight!"

"I think you should see a priest to treat your brain. You know perfectly well that I can't have a knight or make a covenant with anyone, so why are you still bothering me?"

"You can't become a saintess, so why can't you make a vow with someone?"

Celia: "..."

Celia was speechless, and Ross sighed, "Your classmate might really need to see a doctor."

Mr. Evil God, please stop talking, or you'll completely lose your cool factor.

"Enarse, let's go."

"Oh, oh."

Throughout the journey, Celia seemed preoccupied. Ross sensed that she was thinking about how to deal with Mil, how to find Mil's successor... if there was one.

Ross, however, thought that with Mill's intelligence, he would probably expose everything if he tried to trick him.

Nothing happened during the rest of the class until noon, when Celia accepted Enars' invitation to have lunch together. Ross said, "Celia, ask Enars where she usually earns her money."

Celia was slightly taken aback. "She usually helps out at the library and occasionally at the cafeteria. What's wrong?"

"Never mind that, just ask."

Celia hesitated for a moment, then asked as instructed, "Ainars, what kind of work do you usually do to pay for your tuition?"

"Tuition fees? I earned my tuition fees by doing odd jobs back in my hometown..." Aina's gaze shifted slightly. "After entering the school, I would occasionally clean the library, buy things for the cafeteria, and go out to find something to do on weekends."

"Is what you've done... enough to cover your daily expenses?"

“It can fill my stomach.” Ainars lowered her eyelids.

"Other than that?"

"besides?"

"For example, purchasing blank scrolls, potion materials, and puppet materials."

"I don't have the talent to learn all of these things, and I don't buy any of them. My biggest dream is to make a magic puppet before graduation so that I can work for the Holy Court after graduation."

"Before graduation? Aren't you planning to make a puppet for your exams before the end of the school year?"

"Are puppets needed for the school year exams?"

"So it wasn't necessary before?"

Enarse seemed to realize something and couldn't help but smile. "Only saintesses need that. I really envy you. You have the school's help and don't need to worry about anything else. You just need to focus on your studies."

That's not necessarily true...

The Saintess assessment requires the use of magic puppets, but the school does not provide the most crucial element of the magic puppet, the Magic Puppet Heart, which the Saintess candidates must find their own way to obtain.

"Why are you asking me these things?" Enarse asked curiously. "Does Celia need money?"

"There is a slight shortage."

"Are you short of money?"

A voice suddenly came from the side, and Celia's expression immediately turned cold.

"Just agree to one condition, and I'll give you as much as you want!"

It's Doris.
