Chapter 8 The Saintess is Sleeping

Good morning, Celia, may God's light shine upon us.

Just as they stepped out of the dormitory building, a voice came from the side. Celia and Ross looked over and found a boy about the same age as Celia.

He conjured a rose from his hand and handed it to him, saying, "This flower is for you; you are more beautiful than a rose."

"Thank you, but I'm sorry, the high priest told me not to accept things from strangers, so I can't accept these flowers."

"If you don't want it, you don't want it. It's not worth much anyway." The boy casually tossed the rose into the grass beside him.

Celia frowned as she walked over, picked up a rose from the grass, and handed it to the boy. "Mir, please don't litter."

The boy named Mir, however, showed a look of surprise and delight, "Oh, Celia, you're actually going to give me a gift..."

Before he could finish speaking, Celia had already thrown the roses into the nearby trash can.

"No, I gave this rose to the trash can."

After saying that, he turned and walked towards the school cafeteria.

"Hey, hey, Celia, don't go! I can change my name to Trash Can!"

Celia quickened her pace, even breaking into a jog.

Ross, in his mind, clicked his tongue in amazement, thinking, "This student's thought process is a bit peculiar."

“He’s crazy. He comes to bother my studies every day. He’s so annoying.” Celia pouted. “I suspect he’s a spy sent by another candidate.”

"Celia!" came another call, but this time it was a woman's voice.

Celia looked up and saw a girl running towards her, panting. "Wait for me, Celia!"

"Good morning, Enarse."

"Good morning, hoarse, Celia, you're in great health."

"You're too weak, Enarse. As a mage, a healthy body is essential."

"Really? But I saw on the Protoss network that everyone says warlocks have poor physical fitness and that training is useless?"

"That's just a stereotype. Poor quality is relative to professions like swordsmen and boxers who use magic to train their bodies. Don't assume they don't train at all."

"Oh, I see." Enarse suddenly realized, not having listened at all.

“Ainars and I both come from remote areas, but her situation is much worse than mine. I have school funding, but she doesn’t and has to earn money to study on her own,” Celia thought to Ross.

Ross simply hummed in response and didn't say anything.

Celia didn't pay any attention and followed Ainars into the cafeteria. After having breakfast together, they went to class together.

"The early morning is the most efficient time for meditation, the easiest time to connect with nature and the elements and absorb magic. So, everyone, let's begin our meditation. The time is two hours."

The first class was a meditation class, where the instructor directly asked many students to close their eyes and feel nature.

Ross observed the others briefly before giving up, focusing his attention on Celia.

Because he discovered that Celia was asleep.

Falling asleep is different from meditation. Meditation can replace some sleep, but not all of it. When you are tired, it is difficult to enter a meditative state. There is a 90% chance that you will fall asleep and meditate in your dreams.

Just as Ross was considering whether to wake Celia, his mentor arrived beside him.

Snapped!
The ruler had already struck Celia's hand.

"Take your time and clear your mind."

Celia quickly sat up straight and tried to enter a meditative state, until her mentor turned his back to her, at which point she quietly yawned.

"So sleepy... I should have gone to bed earlier last night..."

“I’ll teach you a method of meditation that you can use while you sleep,” Ross said.

"Meditate while sleeping?" Celia's drowsiness immediately dissipated a bit. She pretended to meditate while asking, "My God, please teach me this method of meditation!" (If you need something, please be my God; if you don't, please be my Evil God.)

Ross chuckled. “You need to think you’re asleep when you’re meditating, and when you’re communicating with the elements, you need to make the elements of heaven and earth think you’re asleep, but you’re actually meditating and communicating with them… Simply put, you need to make the magical elements unable to distinguish between you sleeping and meditating, so that when you’re sleeping in a specific way, they think you’re meditating and communicate with you. Remember, this is the operating method and the frequency of mental pulses…”

This skill that allows you to meditate while sleeping is a passive skill in the game, and Rose has taken every passive skill he could get.

Celia tried hard to remember Ross's tips, and began to slow her mind. After communicating with nature and the elements in a meditative state, she conveyed to the elements the mental fluctuations of her sleeping state, causing the originally active elements to gradually quiet down. However, the mental fluctuations of meditation were telling the elements that she was not sleeping. This state of being asleep or not asleep was like Schrödinger's cat, and soon it left the elements in a state of confusion.

If the elements could speak, they would probably yell: "Are you even communicating with me?"
After bringing the element into this state, Celia communicated with it using another kind of mental fluctuation taught by Ross, and then tried to bring that fluctuation into sleep.

then……

She fell asleep.

huh... huh... huh...

"Are you that sleepy?" Ross shook his head.

These young people nowadays, they dare to feel sleepy even after only four hours of sleep.

He didn't plan to wake Celia, since staying up so late last night was his own fault.

The reason I'm so tired isn't just because I haven't slept enough, but also because I've exhausted too much mental energy.

"Let me lend you a hand."

Ross's consciousness was projected into Celia's mental space, and he could completely guide Celia's mental power to fluctuate at a specific frequency.

Especially since Celia couldn't resist after falling asleep.

Directly guide her mental energy to learn the mental fluctuations of passive meditation, so that she can master this passive skill more quickly after she wakes up.

In reality, the meditation instructor came to Celia again.

He held the ruler, frowning.

"What's going on? Why are you sleeping again? Slacking off in class is not the behavior of a prospective saintess."

Sleeping with someone once could be considered a distraction, but sleeping with someone twice is a matter of attitude.

We must strike hard!

The ruler was raised, ready to strike.

But the tutor suddenly stopped.

Wait, this feeling... it's like communicating with the elements?
Celia wasn't asleep?

As a meditation instructor, Nelson is very clear about whether her students are sleeping or meditating.

If anyone tries to pretend to meditate and fall asleep during a meditation class, he'll be there immediately to deliver a sincere warning with a ruler.

Based on past experience and perception, Celia was indeed asleep, and he should give her the ruler.

However, the elements around her were very active, which proved that she was indeed meditating.

The frequency of activity differs slightly from regular meditation, but everyone's meditation habits are different, so this difference is normal.

Fight? Or not fight?

Just as Nelson was hesitating, a voice came from the side.

"Teacher, please don't disturb Celia. She's a little tired and has fallen asleep. If you want to punish someone, do it to me."

Nelson looked up and grinned maliciously.

“Celia is fine, but you, Mir, are not paying attention in class and are disturbing other students’ meditation. Come out with me.”

Mill's face turned pale, and before he could react, Nelson grabbed him by the collar and dragged him out of the meditation room.
