Reborn Cat Sheriff

Chapter 95: Studying medicine means being struck by lightning, but what about veterinarians?

Chapter 95: Studying medicine means being struck by lightning, but what about veterinarians?

I never knew cats' bodies were so fragile...

Thinking itself sharp-tongued and quick-witted, it had successfully defeated one opponent after another. But now it turns out that cats are actually animals that are strong in attack but weak in defense...

Lin Ge was in a daze, feeling pain all over his body, and vaguely heard a scream. Then, he didn't know whether a while or a long time had passed, but he vaguely felt himself being picked up.

Then the world spun around me, and then I knew nothing more.

I woke up feeling refreshed and full of energy.

When Ringo opened his eyes again, he found himself lying in a transparent acrylic box. The box wasn't big, just big enough for a cat to move around in.

The surrounding area was filled with the strong smells of various animals, as well as the smell of some medicine.

Hospital?

Lin Ge tried to stand up briefly and found that he was in pretty good physical condition. Apart from a slight headache and some soreness in his shoulder, he had no other problems.

He is in good spirits and his mind is clear.

He looked around and confirmed that he was in a pet hospital.

The hospital wasn't large, and the decor wasn't fancy. Inside the old building, rows of acrylic rooms against the walls served as the 'patients' wards.' Besides Lin Ge himself, there was only a rag doll lying in one of the boxes several rooms away, and a fat tabby cat locked up in the very corner.

In addition, there was a row of iron cages opposite, presumably for keeping dogs, one of which contained a curly-haired poodle. In the entire room, including him, there were only four animals.

Looking left and right, to the left is the hospital entrance, with bright sunshine and fresh air outside. To the right is a reception table, next to which is a narrow passage leading inside.

Various smells emanated from the passageway, and a sign saying "No Entry" was posted at the entrance.

This place can no longer be called a hospital; it's more like a small clinic.

So... those bastards at the police station just abandoned a meritorious hero who had made great contributions, leaving him to fend for himself in this unreliable little hospital.

Lin Ge gritted his teeth in annoyance.

He had no idea how many days he had slept, nor what the situation was like outside. But just looking at this shabby acrylic box, it was clear that it wasn't being treated like a hero! Even the cat food placed in the corner of the box smelled cheap and inferior.

"Could it be that I've been used and then discarded? Ha... How could Nie Guoqiang do such a thing!"

Lin Ge squinted.

The acrylic panel has two rows of holes, each about the size of a cat's paw, at the "door" location. These holes allow for ventilation and also allow the cat to easily extend its paws and play with its owner.

For Lingo, this hole was simply a convenient way to open the door. He simply extended his claws to their maximum extent, touched the lock hole, then pulled the pin against the board vertically, and with a forceful upward hook, the lock was opened.

No effort!

Lin Ge looked around to make sure no one was nearby before pushing open the door and lightly jumping to the ground.

His movements attracted the attention of the Ragdoll cat, who was lying there lost in thought, and even the chubby tabby cat, who was sleeping in, opened its eyes and glanced at him. The Teddy across the way, seeing a cat approaching, excitedly stood up, grabbed the railing, and wagged its tail wildly in a whirl.

"Wang! Wang Wang!"

"Don't yell, you idiot!"

To avoid disturbing others, Lin Ge quickly looked around and found a tennis ball with a strong plastic smell in the corner of the room. He rummaged around to the door of the dog kennel, then held it in both hands and threw it through the gap in the fence.

Seeing that Teddy had indeed gone after the ball, Lingo breathed a sigh of relief.

Next, it's time to embrace freedom!
"What kind of world is this? Even vegetables cost five yuan or more. I'm going to starve to death running this run-down shop..."

Just as Lin Ge turned around, a young voice appeared at the doorway.

The person and the cat suddenly looked at each other, both stunned and frozen in surprise.

Such a coincidence?
Lin Ge quickly realized that he smelled the same scent on this person as in the shop. In other words, this young man who looked to be in his twenties was actually the owner of this pet clinic? Perhaps he also served as the attending physician?
"Why did you come out?"

Huang Qi stared in astonishment at the cat wandering around the clinic lobby, unable to react for a moment. Especially since the cat neither ran away nor became friendly after seeing him, its indifferent gaze only made him more curious.

As a dedicated guardian of pet health in his area, Huang Qi had never seen a cat with this kind of personality before. How did this guy even get out? The latch on the box looks simple, but you can't just rely on luck to open it.

Lin Ge was also examining Huang Qi.

Looking at his cheap clothes and the pitiful plastic bag he was carrying containing only a few stalks of celery and a cabbage—not a single piece of meat—and recalling his earlier mutterings, Lin Ge immediately felt a pang of pity.

"Is this guy one of those idiots who runs a business right after graduating from college? If you're in the pet business, how can you attract cat and dog lovers if you don't upgrade your store and improve your service quality?"

Are you looking down on me?

Huang Qi put the dishes on the table inside, then squatted down and beckoned to Lin Ge: "Come here! Mimi, come here and let me take a look. I promised Officer Zhang that I would heal your injury in three days. You've been running around everywhere, so don't mess around and ruin my reputation."

"Someone Zhang Yong knows?"

Lin Ge breathed a slight sigh of relief, finally putting his worries to rest.

That's right! I have a permanent position, how could I be discarded after being used?
Lin Ge didn't know if the young man in his twenties in front of him was reliable, but just by looking at the fact that there were only four sick pets in the entire hospital, including himself, he could guess that his business wasn't doing too well.

Can we really trust a young doctor who doesn't even have a sick pet?
He stepped back, refusing Huang Qi's kindness.

Unexpectedly, seeing Lin Ge step back, Huang Qi became furious. "Damn it, even you don't believe me? So what if you're a police cat? Is this how you treat your savior? Get this straight, if I hadn't gotten there in time that day, you'd be dead already!"

"Ok?"

Lin Ge was taken aback.

Wasn't he brought to this clinic by Zhang Yong? And this young man was also present at the time, yet he bravely stepped forward to save the cat in the face of an armed assailant?
real or fake?

Even though Zhao Liang had already been subdued, this guy was still quite bold.

Lin Ge couldn't help but feel a little guilty.

"Forget it! Why would I waste my breath arguing with a cat!" Huang Qi himself felt it was pointless, patted his pants and stood up: "Considering you're really capable, daring to fight even armed criminals, I'll let it go. To be honest, you're pretty amazing. I was browsing the news this morning and found out that you once climbed a 100-meter-high chimney to catch a criminal! Impressive, are you Supercat?"

Huang Qi looked at Lin Ge curiously, and the look in her eyes sent chills down Lin Ge's spine!
This is absolutely not the look of a fan looking at a celebrity, or an idle person looking at an internet celebrity! Rather, it is a perverted look full of inquiry, wanting to lay him down from the skin to the bone, from the blood to the internal organs, and examine him bit by bit under a microscope.

Lin Ge shivered.

He looks like a weakling, and he's just a poor doctor at a small clinic, so why does he have the eyes of a mad scientist?

Even Yang Xiaotong's eyes aren't as terrifying as his!
"That's not right! I drew your blood the day before yesterday, and I didn't find anything abnormal! Apart from having a slightly different diet and some minor digestive issues, I don't see any difference between you and other cats!"

Huang Qi continued talking to himself.

Upon hearing this, Lin Ge completely lost the will to stay in this place.

Even a prestigious hospital like Pet Love Hospital couldn't successfully draw blood from Lin Ge before. How did he end up at this run-down little clinic so inexplicably?

Even though Huang Qi said his blood was no different from that of an ordinary cat, Lin Ge was still not reassured.

Is he different from other cats? Others may not know, but surely he himself doesn't know either?
Whether it's physical strength, speed, power, lethality, or even his sense of smell and thinking, he is completely different from ordinary cats!

A cat capable of killing but also able to communicate normally with humans might actually be dissected if someone finds something abnormal in its fur, blood, or something else!

Lin Ge turned and left.

Huang Qi didn't stop him, but just kept muttering to himself like a bookworm.

As he recalled Ringo's blood test results, he also remembered the feeling of touching Ringo's muscles that day. Strangely, something seemed off...
