Chapter 55 Duke is dead
Under the cover of night, the group quietly left the villa.

Although they were not high-ranking, they possessed several high-level items, making it easy for them to leave quietly.

With the female master gone safely, Duke was completely relieved and could finally get to what he needed to do.

He stretched out his right hand, transforming into a beast-like form. His black cat claws drew three sharp streaks of light in the darkness, slashing towards his own face.

The other party had seen him before.

In order not to implicate Sherry, he had to disfigure himself completely before taking any action.

After several brutal blows, the stench of blood became so strong that it overwhelmed him.

He knew it was about time.

His brows furrowed, he gripped the laser pointer tightly, and slowly stretched his hand outwards.

That female was their wife, and it was safest to shine the light on her.

Sorry.

Who told you to be the people above?

Duke made up his mind, poked half his head out, and looked into the living room.

This look completely stunned him.

Dozens of poisonous corpses lay sprawled beneath my eyes, some lying haphazardly, others torn to pieces. The corpses' eyes were wide open, their pupils almost bulging out. Perhaps they died too quickly, for they hadn't had time to react and their eyes hadn't closed.

Furniture was broken all over the floor, the white walls were covered with gray and red bricks, and the mess was mixed with bits and pieces of tableware and lamps.

The living room had everything, except for those four people.

What happened? Did they run away?
Impossible! He was watching from up there the whole time! How could he possibly have escaped!
Duke looked around, surveying the entire living room, but indeed saw no one.

He was a little confused, but more than that, he was annoyed that he had failed to complete the task.

There's no need to hesitate; you should just take action.

Frustrated, Duke slammed his fist on the roof beam, sending dust flying everywhere. He coughed a few times, tears welling up in his eyes.

In a blurry field of vision.

He saw a long, thin figure slowly approaching him.

It's really long.

Extending from the floor tiles to the roof beam, it is about five or six meters long, with its end wrapped around the stair railing on one side of the roof beam. Its body stretches upwards, and its head is enormous, as if a person is sitting on it.

Duke was stunned for a moment, then shook his head violently, unable to believe what he was seeing.

He rubbed his eyes and opened them again.

A pretty face approached him from afar, a bright smile on her face, innocent yet radiant.

Her voice was also very pleasant, sweet and soft, and she asked him with a smile, "Little kitty, were you looking for me?"

Duke could hold his breath if he only looked at that face, but there was a huge snake head standing in front of that face.

Really big!

It felt like the snake's head could open its mouth wide and swallow him whole.

Duke gasped, his vision went black, and he collapsed straight down.

"thump!"

The dust on the floor flew up two meters high.

"Won't he be scared to death?"

Scarlett looked down and asked Holst.

Holst rolled his eyes. "None of my business."

The idea came from Scarlett.

"Quick, quick, go down and see if he's dead." Scarlett patted Holster's head and directed him to go down.

Holster hissed, somewhat displeased, staring at Scarlett's hand as if he wanted to bite it.

But thinking that he might also get hurt, he held back, twisted his snake body, and carried Scarlett down.

Scarlett jumped off the snake and eagerly urged Holster to turn into a human.

God knows how much courage she mustered to climb onto Holster's back just to scare the kitten.

No wonder they're cold-blooded.

Each scale was ice-cold, almost causing her to suffer frostbite.

Fortunately, she seemed to have overcome her fear a little and was no longer so afraid of snakes.

After Holster turned back into a human, he glared at Scarlett with cold eyes.

He took in her disdain, which only intensified his resentment. She was the one who wanted him to become a snake, yet she despised him afterward; two-faced in public and in private, truly befitting the wicked Scarlett.

If he had known, he shouldn't have done what she wanted!

As Chi Ye emerged from Sevier's territory, he happened to see Holst staring at Scarlett's back with hostile eyes. This was a dangerous act, so he narrowed his eyes warily, shouldered his broadsword, and walked behind Scarlett, blocking those icy gazes. He didn't forget to turn back and glare at Holst as a warning.

Holster narrowed his eyes and returned the look with an even sharper glare.

Both of them possess advanced mental strength. Once they secretly engage in a contest, their mental strength will be released, inevitably affecting the surrounding environment and causing upheaval.

Fortunately, both of them remained rational. Although they disliked each other, they did not come to the point of fighting.

After a few seconds of eye contact, they calmly looked away.

Savia then emerged from the area.

Seeing Scarlett squatting next to Duke, tilting her head to observe his movements, he squatted down as well.

Duke lay on the ground, his limbs stiffly raised, his face covered in blood and unrecognizable, except for his large, round eyes, which were wide open, showing a look of unresolved death.

Sevier poked his stiff limbs. "Is he dead?"

Scarlett said uncertainly, "Maybe."

After saying that, she looked at Sevier, her eyebrows furrowed, her face full of self-reproach: "I think I scared him to death."

Sylvia glanced at Duke, her tone full of disdain: "He's too easily scared. No wonder he's a cat, he's such a coward."

"Let's bury him. It's pitiful to die here."

Scarlett took out two shovels from her spatial dimension, gave one to Saviour, and said she was about to bury Duke on the spot.

Chi Ye conjured a fireball in his hand and said, "Why go through all that trouble? Let's just burn it down. The shelter is about to release poison gas anyway, so let's burn it down and get out of here quickly."

“Okay, burn him.” Scarlett threw down the shovel and shouted in agreement.

The words fell.

Chi Ye threw the fireball at Duke.

Suddenly.

Duke was completely engulfed in flames.

The flames relentlessly licked every inch of his skin.

He endured it for one second, two seconds, three seconds.

"Wow!" someone exclaimed as they jumped up.

They ran into the kitchen amidst towering flames.

water!
He wants water!
"Oh, so you're not dead."

Scarlett stood behind him and whispered something eerily.

Hear the words.

Duke turned around and looked at Scarlett warily. "What...what do you want?"

Scarlett chuckled, "Guess."

Duke swallowed hard in fear, ignoring the pain in his body, and turned to run away.

But he couldn't escape from Chi Ye.

Chi Ye lashed out with a long whip, wrapping it around his ankle and dragging him all the way from the kitchen to Scarlett.

His face was covered in dust, and since he already had injuries, it was burning with pain not only all over his body but also on his face.

water.

He wants water!
Just then, a cool sensation hit my head, and a bucket of cold water was poured over me, extinguishing all the fire on my body with a "splash".

But the water was too cold, and he was shivering.

Before he could even utter a word of "cold," his neck tightened, and his lower body felt light as someone grabbed him by the back of the neck and lifted him up.

Scarlett's bright little face came into his view again; though beautiful, it was dangerous.

"From now on, you must answer every question I ask you. If you don't answer, I will go directly to your mistress."

"Don't think I won't recognize you just because you've scratched my face. We orcs recognize people by their scent."

"Aren't you right, Duke?"

Duke closed his eyes in despair, wishing he could die immediately.

He not only failed to handle things properly, but he also implicated his mistress!
What a waste!

"Alright, now I'll ask you your first question: why did you try to harm us?"
