Professor X sighed.

Who is the King of Shadows?

Wanda was also surprised. Despite their several hostile encounters, she had always admired the elegant and mature Storm, who always seemed like a trustworthy captain.

But now, as if suddenly triggered by PTSD, the name Shadow King fills her with a complex mix of emotions, including fear, disgust, and anger.

"The King of Shadows?"

Russell's eyelids twitched, and he remembered.

A mental entity with terrifying abilities.

"That was many years ago, when I was young and could still walk..."

Professor X then recounted how he met Storm and Shadow King.

When he was young, he traveled to Egypt and had his wallet stolen on the streets of Cairo by a little girl with white hair. That little girl was Storm when she was a child.

After catching up with the little girl and retrieving her wallet, Professor X was subjected to a mental attack. However, due to Professor X's immense mental strength, the attack did not cause him any serious harm.

Moreover, he keenly sensed the source of the attack and, after going to a tavern, discovered a group of children who looked just like Storm.

Like a mindless puppet, he was manipulated by a man named Amor Farouk.

The man called himself the Shadow King. He controlled a group of children, making them steal in the streets, while absorbing the dark side of the children's hearts to fuel his supernatural powers, thus making himself a tyrant in Cairo.

But it all seemed to be just a game to that person.

"The Shadow King admired my superpowers and wanted to invite me to join him. That was the first time I had ever met such an evil mutant, and I sensed his hidden malice towards me. He even seemed to want to take over my body."

I rejected his disgusting demands and engaged in a battle of wits with him on a spiritual level.

Finally, with great difficulty, I sealed him away in the starlight layer outside of reality.

Professor X recalled that man, and even after many years, his brows still furrowed unconsciously, as if he had never seen such a disgusting and evil fellow.

Unlike ordinary people, Professor X can sense a person's spirit and see more clearly the ugliness and kindness in a person's heart.

"That person... I even doubt whether he is a human or some kind of demon."

Although what he did was only to control Ororo and a group of children to steal for the time being, I could sense that it was just a game he was playing while he was still accumulating power.

The thick darkness and evil within him poured out, enough to engulf the entire world.

It was merely a tentacle attached to that man, Amor Farouk, as part of a massive entity.

The reason why the Shadow King's spiritual power is weaker than Professor X's is simply because his tentacles have not entangled in this reality for long enough and have not absorbed enough dark emotions.

Otherwise, the power he could display would be far greater than that; even mutants with Omega-level mental abilities might not be able to defeat him.

"...Not long ago, I sensed a powerful and evil mental fluctuation flash by on Earth. I felt a sense of familiarity with it at the time. Afterwards, I used a brainwave enhancement machine to go to the astral plane in Cairo to confirm it."

The Shadow King has indeed escaped.
