Chapter 98 School Life
Peter quickly realized an even more troublesome point: since it was the first day, Cindy didn't know where the cafeteria was and he had to take her there himself, which led to a new problem: Cindy was sitting across from him while eating.

So Harry and Amadeus deliberately chose another table and whispered among themselves. After Cindy sat down, she seemed to understand something and suggested, "If you find it troublesome, just let me know."

"Today is your first day here since you transferred schools. Anyway, you won't need me to take you to the cafeteria tomorrow."

Peter was speaking while hoping someone would come and ease the awkwardness. He thought it would be Gwen or Jessica, but someone completely unexpected broke the silence.

"Hey Peter, can I talk to you about something... Oh, and who is this?"

The person who came to ask was Mary Jane. She initially thought Peter was having dinner with Amadeus, but when he arrived, she realized that he was an Asian girl she had never seen before.

"This is Cindy, a new transfer student. The teacher asked me to show her around the school." Peter smiled, then, seeing Cindy just focused on eating, asked, "Is there anything I can do to help?"

"Could you take some photos for me?"

Peter looked at MJ in confusion, wondering why she suddenly wanted him to take her picture. MJ looked at Peter incredulously: "You don't know? Your photo was on the cover of The Daily Horn!"

???

When did this happen?

"Oh! No way! Wait a moment."

Peter took out his phone and started searching. Sure enough, he found the Daily Bugle's reply in his email. He really didn't expect that his photos of Spider-Man and the thrilling battle would be published. The camera was completely stuck to the wall, and there was no such thing as capturing the angle. He just picked one out, developed it, and mailed it to the Daily Bugle.

After all, back then he was a penniless Peter Parker. Now it's different; he's Peter Parker who can sell Spider-Man licenses based on his Avenger identity.

Well, I don't have any money for now.

“I thought my photos must have been rejected, so I didn’t even check. I still have five hundred dollars to collect.” Peter thanked MJ and then asked, “What kind of photos do you need me to take?”

“I most hope to interview Spider-Man, but I guess that’s unlikely.” MJ smiled helplessly. “But can you believe it? Jonah Jameson is willing to give me a chance to interview him about his thoughts on Spider-Man.”

"Yeah, what could JJJ possibly think of Spider-Man?" Peter sighed inwardly before suddenly realizing, "Oh, you mean, I should go take a couple of pictures of Jonah Jameson?"

"Yeah, can't you?"

"No, I'd actually like to get to know him."

Peter really wanted to meet JJJ, after all, as Spider-Man's number one nemesis, few were as annoying and helpless as JJJ. But he wasn't in a hurry, since JJJ was right there, not going anywhere.

Let's focus on the people who can run first.

“MJ, you're with Peter…”

Holding her plate, Gwen walked over and saw MJ chatting with Peter. She then peeked out, saw Cindy, looked at Peter, and raised an eyebrow.

Fortunately, MJ explained to Peter that Cindy was a transfer student and why Peter was sitting with her, which averted some awkwardness. Mary Jane then looked at Gwen quite sincerely: "Also, I need to borrow Peter from you, is that alright?"

"He's nobody to me, why are you asking me?"

"Because you'll get angry if I don't talk to you?" This puzzled Gwen: "Why would I get angry?"

"Hmm? You didn't know how before?"

Peter, who had already finished eating, apologized and then ran off with his plate, leaving the three girls standing there. Mary Jane glanced at Cindy's half-eaten plate, smiled, and asked if she could sit next to her.

Cindy didn't refuse, so Mary Jane sat down. Then Gwen sat down as well and began pressing for details about what MJ had meant earlier.

Cindy looked at them and suddenly thought of something: Is this all the ordinary daily life that Peter Parker is surrounded by?
It seems that things are a little different from what I expected.

Meanwhile, Peter was about to settle scores with his two best buddies when someone tapped him on the shoulder. Not paying attention to his surroundings and without any spider-sense feedback, Peter was startled. He sighed after realizing it was Lightning calling him.

"What's wrong, Lightning?"

"Where have you been these past few days?!"

"I'm sick." Peter looked at Lightning, who had suddenly become concerned about him, and felt a little confused: "What's wrong?"

"That photo you took of Spider-Man! It was amazing!" Flash asked himself excitedly and expectantly, "When are you going to take another one of Spider-Man?!"

Peter: ...

"I'm not Spider-Man's personal photographer, okay? It's not like we always know where Spider-Man is fighting."

Peter sighed, and Lightning, having figured this out, said "Oh," and then visibly became frustrated.

“I…I heard Spider-Man stopped a crime yesterday, and he’s back! So…sorry.”

Watching the lightning bolt disappear, Peter shook his head, then took out his phone again.

Now for the important business. Since Quentin and Herman were still unwilling to reveal who their boss was, Peter decided to take a different approach and have Jarvis investigate the gunman who intended to shoot him.

The investigation uncovered the truth: the gunman's name was McDonald Gagan, a private investigator, who was undoubtedly Scorpion, one of Spider-Man's villains. Peter immediately set out to track him down.

The final conclusion was that he was missing; after being shot, he was taken away by ambulance to the hospital. However, the hospital records showed that someone came to the hospital and took Gagan away.

More importantly, no one knows who did it. The hospital's system was deliberately modified, erasing relevant records and data. However, the programming algorithm and the program Mysterio used to interfere with Tony are based on the same idea.

In other words, the person who took McDonald's Gagan is the real culprit behind Thriller, Chameleon, and Mysterio. And he may already be modifying Scorpion.

This person is most likely Kingpin, but unfortunately, Peter has no evidence. Without evidence, neither arrest nor punishment is sufficiently convincing.

It might even give Kingpin, who died as a result, a good guy reputation. So, we have to portray Kingpin as a villain first.

Peter knew that there was such a person in New York who had been collecting evidence of Kingpin's crimes.

"It's time to pay a visit to Mark Murdoch."
