Chapter 97 Transfer Student
Chapter 97 Transfer Student
Peter even went to study the current Ultron. The good news is that the current Ultron is relatively simple and not as complex and vivid as the one in the movie.
The bad news is that it's rudimentary, exactly like the comic book version of Ultron.
However, the current Ultron is indeed more rigid and inflexible than Jarvis, having only reached version two. If this prison weren't outside of Stark Industries, Tony would definitely have used the superior Jarvis directly.
Peter wondered if Ultron was really alright right now, could he think of a way to stop it from going berserk? After all, Pym didn't seem like a domestic violence hero, but more like a pacifist, and Ultron wasn't created by scanning Pym's brainwaves, so it didn't seem too difficult.
This needs to be discussed with Hank Pym. We need to persuade him not to design Ultron as "working for the peace of all mankind." That kind of logic inevitably leads Ultron's little brain, limited to "0"s and "1s," to extremes. It's better to be more realistic. Hopefully, after the Ultron crisis is resolved, this robot can become a true helper for humanity.
But now that everything is resolved, it's time to go back.
Peter said goodbye to Ultron and left the Raft prison.

Because the US essentially uses a rotating class system, with only a "guidance counselor" responsible for a portion of the students' learning (similar to a combination of a homeroom teacher and a counselor), even when new students arrive, there isn't a dedicated teacher to guide and educate them. However, after Peter finished his Thursday morning patrol and arrived at school, he was called to his guidance counselor's office.
“Peter, this is Cindy Moon. She’s a new transfer student from Vision Middle School. Judging from her grades, your schedules are exactly the same.”
The teacher, seemingly irresponsibly, casually handed Cindy, the transfer student, to Peter: "So, could you show her around our school? Including the classrooms, the library, the cafeteria, and so on."
"no problem."
What could Peter say? He could only nod in agreement, then pretended not to know Cindy and extended his hand to her: "It's nice to meet you, Cindy."
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Peter."
Peter didn't have much contact with Cindy in his daily life, but he could tell that she wasn't very talkative and was rather introverted. The two of them walked to the classroom for the first class without saying a word. Finally, Peter awkwardly spoke first.
"Well, this is our classroom. There aren't many people. Let's pick seats first."
As Peter spoke, he awkwardly found his usual seat. Harry hadn't arrived early as usual, so Peter sat down in his usual spot and waited for Harry to come.
Cindy looked around the classroom and, noticing that no one was sitting next to Peter, walked over with her books and sat down under Peter's gaze.
"...Did I disturb you?"
"No, no, no."
Peter laughed and quickly explained, taking out his books to see what classes he had missed in the past few days. His super senses heard Harry and Amadeus' voices, and he finally understood why Harry hadn't arrived early: in the days Peter was away, they had achieved the feat of going in and out of school together, taking another step closer to becoming best friends.
As they walked to the classroom door, Harry grabbed Amadeus, who was still unaware of what was happening, and made him look at the beautiful Asian girl sitting in his original seat.
"Who is that?"
“I don’t know, I’ve never seen her.” Amadeus answered matter-of-factly, looking at Harry with a clear meaning: You can’t just say she’s Asian and I’m Asian, so I know her, can you?
That doesn’t make sense!
“I mean, that girl sat next to Peter. You see, there are so many empty seats in the classroom, and she chose to sit next to Peter…” Harry muttered, then saw Peter turn around and look at them. He nodded at Peter, puzzled, then walked to the last row and sat down with Amadeus—Amadeus always sat in that spot, only no one else was there to sit with him. “Welcome back, buddy.”
As Harry sat down, he patted Peter on the shoulder, and Peter took the opportunity to introduce his two friends to Cindy: "Guys, this is Cindy, she just transferred to our school, and the teacher asked me to show her around. Cindy, this is Harry, and this is Amadeus, they are both my good friends."
Cindy simply nodded at them expressionlessly, then turned back to continue reading her book. Harry and Amadeus exchanged a glance after they sat down—Amadeus didn't actually know what had happened; Harry had just patted him, so he looked over.
A silence fell between them. After several more seconds, Cindy asked Peter again, "Did I disturb you?"
"No, definitely not."
Harry answered the question before Peter could, and Peter looked Harry up and down before turning back to his textbook. Harry, meanwhile, sent a text message to Amadeus on his phone.
I think we'll have to sit like this from now on.
Amadeus glanced at his phone, sent Harry a question mark, and after Harry glanced at it, he sent Amadeus a new text message.
Do you think Gwen knew about this?
Finally, Amadeus sent a "I understand" emoji.
The difficult class was finally over. After Peter packed up his things, he looked at Cindy, who was sitting there with her books, and seemed to finally understand something.
"Shall we...go to the classroom for the next class?"
Cindy nodded and stood up.
Peter finally understood what kind of personality this girl had. He could roughly imagine what would happen today. Sure enough, Cindy sat next to him in the next class and attended the class like a wooden doll, taking notes and waiting for him to say something before taking any action.
From a certain perspective, he is the perfect employee for S.H.I.E.L.D., as long as he is not alone on missions.
"After school, you can participate in some school activities, if you have time. Um... make some friends?"
After class, Peter said this to Cindy, and Cindy just nodded. Then she asked Peter a question.
"I feel like you don't have many friends, so is it unnecessary for you to have so many friends?"
"Let's just hand over one or two."
Peter scratched his head. There was still a whole day to go. He just had to get through it.
There may be a full four years left in high school.
