Chapter 777 The Temple of Sasla

After waiting for quite a while, Peter and Miguel confirmed one thing: nothing had really happened.

“Something’s not right. Even putting aside all the unexpected factors, Cindy’s previous condition suggests that there couldn’t possibly be nothing here.”

Peter frowned as he recalled Cindy's previous state. He then looked at Leopardon, who was walking over. Even setting aside the factors of the Heirs and the Spider Gods, Sasla's influence on Cindy was undeniable.

But now even Sasla's situation is so quiet, it's obvious that something is wrong.

"Then...shall we go take a look?"

Gwen tentatively asked, "I just went in to take a look, and it didn't seem like anything. Maybe I should go in again and check?"

Peter shook his head. Gwen's abilities might make her undetectable even to Sasla, but it wasn't a foolproof method. He had the nanobots assemble into a spider-shaped detection robot and enter the temple: "Let's use this method to check the situation inside first. Wait a bit, then we'll go back to Leopardon; it's safer inside."

When Takuya Yamashiro saw Peter and the others return, he looked at Gwen, somewhat confused: "When did she arrive? Oh wait, she's been inside Leopardon the whole time? But I don't seem to remember her."

Because they probably really don't remember it; everyone has forgotten.

Peter, while muttering to himself, stood to the side and projected the image from the robot onto Leopardon's screen, letting everyone see what Sasla's temple really looked like.

During the robot's filming, they saw the interior of the temple, still decorated with numerous murals in the Egyptian style, primarily depicting Sasra's past. The most prominent theme was the Great Hive, a space created by the Great Sasra where all souls could grow together undisturbed.

But Sasla's wicked and greedy sister, Ness, destroyed it all.

She created a wicked and chaotic giant web within which souls became entangled and influenced one another, leading to their chaos and corruption. Even worse, this wasn't originally Nice's work; she created the web on her own initiative and then used sweet words to bewitch their mother, the great Mother of Gods, Gaia, making her believe that the web was a better celestial map of the multiverse's souls.

Enraged, Sasra bravely challenged her sister for the sake of order, but failed. She was suppressed by her mother Gaia and sealed in a giant net.

"Well... it doesn't feel exactly like the actual situation; it's more like it's completely unrelated."

Peter sighed, then scratched his head: "This just looks like Sasla is trying to glorify herself. Each soul grows alone, and only after it's fully grown does it merge into the hive... Anyway, I don't really agree with that logic."

Gwen casually mentioned it, and Peter, while controlling the robot to move forward, asked in return, "What else is inside?"

"Hmm, a giant honeycomb? Anyway, it looks pretty much like one."

Just as Gwen had said, a huge honeycomb was placed where the main deity's statue should have been. Peter briefly scanned it with the detection robot, and the inside was chilling: a faint humanoid outline. "This outline is very small; it's probably not fully developed yet..."

Miguel leaned over and analyzed: "This humanoid is definitely connected to Sasla. Her true form is known to be sealed under the Web of Fate, but her will is not dormant. The Sisterhood of Wasps is the best evidence of this. This temple is probably a channel through which she manifests her consciousness."

"Perhaps more... Perhaps this humanoid form can grow stronger through the continuous expansion of the Sisterhood of Wasps and the sacrifice of the spider totem, thus giving Sasla a physical body capable of carrying out her plans..."

Peter stroked his chin, deep in thought, while Yamashiro Takuya, after reading it, only asked one question: "Should we cut it down?"

"Uh, it seems there's nothing else in the temple besides this large altar. Gwen, did you see anything else strange?"

Seeing Gwen shake her head, Leopardon unleashed his third Battle Soul Sword of the day, shattering the entire temple. With one of his worries completely gone, Gwen casually asked, "Wait a minute, does this thing still exist in the multiverse?"

Peter and Miguel exchanged a glance: "Theoretically speaking, their proportion in the multiverse wouldn't be too large, but..."

"But for the multiverse, proportions are meaningless, unless it is a unique totem like Sasla, or 'Patriarch' and 'Bride', whose quantity is 1. For the multiverse, as long as the quantity is not 1, the quantity of all others is infinite."

Miguel added this cold, hard reality, and Gwen fell silent. But Peter thought it was alright; although the Wasp Sisters were numerous in the multiverse, the probability of encountering them was extremely low.

However, we cannot be complacent, which is one of the reasons why the alliance was established.

Peter was about to say a few words of comfort to Gwen when Cindy, who had been lying down, seemed to stir. After the temple was completely destroyed, her condition seemed to have improved a lot, and she finally got up. Peter rushed over to ask about her condition.

“I’m asking you to take a few girls with you to help,” Miguel said, sharing some data with Peter: “For example, to persuade some Spider Totems who are unwilling to join us, or to check out the situation in those universes that we can’t access for the time being.”
