Chapter 776 An Invitation from the Transcendent

Chapter 776 An Invitation from the Transcendent
What happened next was unexpected for Peter and Miguel—strictly speaking, Gwen's departure was already quite unexpected, but what followed was even more surprising to Peter.

The Spider-Bee Mistress, severely injured, quickly chose to fly away, attempting to leave the universe in some way that even Peter couldn't fathom. However, before she could realize what was happening, Leopardon swooped in with his sword, annihilating the Spider-Bee Mistress in mid-air.

This incident caused Peter and Miguel to exchange an incredulous glance: something had gone wrong.

Are you sure your previous method would work?

“It will definitely work. We tried it once at the border of hell. Repeatedly tearing space will definitely attract the attention of the Spider Gods. They can’t possibly be indifferent to Shasla. You can see how big that portal used to teleport Leopardon is.”

Peter replied to Miguel in this way, and Miguel frowned. Logically speaking, the Spider Gods should definitely come. Moreover, this place, as Shasra's temple, can create followers, and Shasra himself should also possess great power here, plus the successors were able to find Cindy's location.

In theory, Miguel and Peter were expecting a massive battle between the Web Gods, the will of Shasla, and the Heirs. Once they were weakened, they could rely on Leopardon and the Web Gods to form a temporary alliance, using the magic of the Sorcerer Supreme Spider-Man to permanently reduce the number of Heirs, preventing their consciousness from transferring and being reborn, and then suppress the will of Shasla.

This plan was, as always, high-risk, high-reward, but thanks to Peter's own fighting prowess and the power of the War Soul Divine Sword, Miguel decided to take the gamble. In the end, nothing happened. The Successor didn't come, the Spider Gods didn't come, and even Shasla seemed lifeless; nothing occurred.

Gwen looked at Peter and Miguel with a strange expression, and asked somewhat uncertainly, "What's going on with you...it doesn't have anything to do with me, does it?"

"No, no, it has nothing to do with you, it's just..."

Peter didn't know how to describe it for a moment: "It's just that something happened, but we have no idea what happened."

Earth 001, the world of the Heirs.

A young man with slicked-back hair, sunglasses, and a white low-cut lace suit, a cigar dangling from his lips, rested his legs on the steering wheel of a convertible luxury car. If it weren't for the fact that he had parked at the heir's family's dining table, perhaps the heir's patriarch, Soros, wouldn't be so nervous.

But in reality, this is the dining room of the Heirs' family castle. Originally, this should have been a dining table with spider totems from various universes on it, but suddenly, the whole table disappeared and was replaced by a young version of Elvis sitting in a convertible, with his bewildered son Morren in the back seat.

What made Soros even more nervous was that Moron almost rushed up to challenge the young man.

Fortunately, Soros stopped him. He looked at the other man with cold sweat dripping down his face and said, "Dear Sir... I don't know how to address you?"

"Hmm... Let me think. The place I live in is called the Beyond Realm by some people, so I should be a Beyonder... No, no, no, that would make me no different from those boring old fogies. I've got it! Since Earth 616 is called the 'Prime Universe,' then I should naturally be the 'Prime Beyonder'!"

Soros completely failed to understand what the man before him was saying, but an involuntary concept arose in his mind. It was said that beyond this multiverse, other dimensions existed, one of which was the Transcendent Dimension, and this man claimed to come from the Transcendent Dimension, thus calling himself the Transcendent One. "Honorable 'Supreme Transcendent One'..."

"No, no, no, that name is still too long. Just call me the Transcendent!" The Transcendent chewed on an unlit cigar: "I alone can represent my entire race."

"...Your Excellency, the Transcendent One, what brings you to our world?"

Soros finally asked the question, and the Beyonder looked at him and then smiled.

"Since one of our race's babies was born in your multiverse, I came to your multiverse by chance. After wandering around a few universes, I found many interesting things. For example, in almost every universe I visited, there were 'heroes' and 'villains,' who constituted a kind of, or rather, a balance of good and evil?"

As he spoke, Beyonder showed a thoughtful expression: "At first, I thought most heroes and villains were just randomly created characters, but later I discovered that most superheroes and villains are actually fixed characters. Perhaps some heroes will become villains in other universes, or perhaps the other way around. But in general, these characters, or rather these people themselves, will not change much."

"They may come from different eras, ethnicities, races, or even species. Their force fields may be villains or heroes, but in most cases, they are still counterparts of each other from different universes. So I'm thinking... what exactly are the so-called heroes and villains of your universe?"

Soros was a bit dumbfounded. He had never thought about this question before. He had eaten many spider totems, mostly Peter Parker, occasionally Jessica Drew or Ben Riley, Kane Parker, and even less often Bruce Banner, Logan, and the like. But he had never been able to answer the question of the Beyonder.

"So..." Soros was now even more sweating: "What conclusion have you drawn?"

"I haven't come to any conclusions, so I've decided to play a game. I'm going to host a multiverse-wide tournament, where each invited universe can field a team of at least six people. I want to see the ultimate showdown between heroes and villains. Maybe that way, I'll know what heroes and villains really are."

"You are very lucky. I have decided to give you Earth 1, or more precisely, the power to organize a team. You can organize a team of six to participate in the competition. Of course, the final winner of the competition will receive a reward, which is that I can grant the winner one wish."

At this point, Beyonder stood up from the convertible, looked at Soros bowing before him, and his smile faded: "So, before I officially begin this competition, could you please pause the hunt? After all, your multiverse seems to really enjoy creating spiders from all sorts of materials."

The Beyonder in this book can be compared to the original Beyonder. Actually, there is no such thing as an original Beyonder in terms of continuity; it's just that Marvel later felt the Beyonder's initial power was too strong, so they made many nerfs.
