Chapter 755 Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
When discussing the East, S.H.I.E.L.D. is inevitably mentioned. As an organization comparable to S.H.I.E.L.D., but with a higher profile, greater secrecy, and enhanced security, S.H.I.E.L.D. was a formidable force. So when Peter and Daniel walked out of the airport and saw S.H.I.E.L.D. agents holding signs with their names on them, wearing loose hoodies and travel sunglasses, they were dumbfounded.

No one doubted that they were agents of some secret organization; no one would believe it if you told them.

Although S.H.I.E.L.D. is not a secret at all, just like SHIELD, with its official website, it's just that nobody knows about it, so it's practically a secret.

"Um, nice to meet you. I'm Daniel Rand, and this is Peter Parker. May I ask your names?"

As a reliable adult, Daniel communicated fluently in Chinese with the S.M.A. agent who came to pick him up. The S.M.A. agent was not idle at all: "Oh, my surname is Wang, you can just call me Lao Wang."

Why is there another king...?

Old Wang was clearly not the same person as Wang, and greeted him warmly and directly: "Mr. Rand, your Chinese is really fluent. You must have lived in China for a long time."

“It’s been more than ten years, and I come here twice a year. This is Peter’s first time here.”

"Oh, okay, let me show you. This is our itinerary. Please see if there are any problems..."

Old Wang even took out his phone to show Daniel the itinerary. Peter curiously leaned over to take a look, and the itinerary was thoughtfully written in English.

Although all three people present actually knew Chinese.

"I have no objection. What about you, Peter?"

"I have no objections either..."

Peter looked at the itinerary, which was quite packed. He would rest in Shanghai for a day, then take a domestic flight to Kunlun. If he was lucky, he could arrive in Kunlun by tomorrow afternoon.

"If you two don't need any changes, then I'll drive you to the hotel. The hotel has already been booked for you."

Peter didn't know, but he always felt that Old Wang was afraid they would cause trouble. He hesitated for a moment, but still said nothing. He and Daniel left the airport with Old Wang, and after getting into the car, Peter stared blankly out the window.

"This country is unusually quiet, isn't it?"

Daniel, who was sitting to the side, laughed: "No supervillains, no ordinary gangs... at least not as blatant as in New York."

Peter nodded, then suddenly remembered something: "But I remember they have their own team of superheroes..."

Tokyo University does indeed have its own superhero team, but they rarely deal with supervillains; their work is mostly focused on training and public relations. Peter initially thought he would assign some members of this team to work with him, but that didn't happen.

The S.H.I.E.L.D. acted as if they were simply on a normal tourist trip, arranging no one else besides a regular guide, which surprised Peter a bit. Old Wang didn't say anything, just took them to the hotel, said he'd pick them up the next morning, and left. After exchanging a few words with the hotel receptionist, Daniel handed Peter the room key, then waved it around: "Put your things away, then go out for something to eat?"

Half an hour later, the two sat in a Hunan restaurant that looked like it was on the roadside. Peter was really surprised by Daniel's familiarity with China, that he could even find a restaurant like this. Even the owner seemed surprised.

After the two ordered their food, Peter poked at the plastic wrapping the bowls and plates with his chopsticks and asked curiously, "I asked Strange about Kunlun and the Seven Cities of Heaven before, and he said he didn't know much about Kamar-Taj. Can you reveal something?"

"I don't know much about this. I mainly know Kunlun. However, I know a little about another immortal weapon. I met another immortal weapon before. He was a Latino who used the power brought by the White Tiger Amulet. His fighting ability was very good."

Peter thought for a moment before realizing: wasn't this the street hero White Tiger? He suddenly became interested: "So, does that mean you guys might fight in the Heavenly Capital Tournament?"

"The Heavenly Capital Grand Competition cannot be held in the short term. There are still several years to go, and even if everyone is gathered this time, it will be difficult for the competition to start."

This answer caught Peter off guard, but he immediately understood the reason: "Because the immortal weapons haven't been collected?"

"Yes, the immortal weapons are not all gathered. Just like the Spider Kingdom you are going to, it does not have its own immortal weapons. But the problem is, this is not an isolated case, so it is possible that the next Heavenly Capital Grand Competition will not be able to gather enough people."

Iron Fist didn't finish his sentence. This was actually the first time in history that such a situation had occurred. Many immortal beasts with relatively low status in their own territories would very likely use this as an excuse to change the plans for the Heavenly Capital Grand Competition.

After all, in this system, there must be a winner, and the dimension of the winner must become the channel connecting to the outside world. But what if the winner doesn't exist?

This is one reason why many immortal beasts remain silent. It's also one of the reasons why Iron Fist said Peter's trip might be fruitless.

Peter nodded, then suddenly realized, "Wait, does this mean that if I become an immortal weapon someday, I'll have to help the Mountain Spider in the Heavenly Capital Tournament?"

Iron Fist nodded matter-of-factly, that was for sure. Peter, who heard this, sighed helplessly and then began to ask about other things: "Speaking of which, Iron Fist's power was given to him by Shou Lao, right? You have to defeat him and use his heart to gain power."

"That's right, and you'll experience similar scenarios again; it's something every immortal weapon needs to do."

Daniel readily admitted it, so Peter raised his question: "If that's the case, why is it that your Iron Fist power comes from Elder Shou, but only your right fist was amplified?"

Peter discovered this during the fight: the Iron Fist's power was limited to the right hand and was practically useless on the other limbs, which seemed quite strange.

Daniel sighed after hearing this: "This only shows that I am not mature enough and have not fully controlled the power of the Iron Fist. You heard me say that I come here twice a year in the hope of taking myself a step further."

"The power of immortality is actually very strong, far beyond our imagination. Moreover, this power is acquired by oneself, but precisely because it belongs to oneself, it requires a long period of cultivation. So, get ready, Spider-Man."

I need to ask for another day off; I'll make it up tomorrow.
