I've mentioned it many times before, but I'll mention it again here. This is the Gamma Experiment Center located in the Arizona desert. The U.S. military used to manufacture a gamma bomb that could release a large amount of energy here, as well as conduct experiments to replicate the Erkins serum using gamma energy.

Bruce Banner became the Hulk because, during a gamma bomb test, he saw a kid driving a ghostly firebomb into the blast zone. He ran to disperse the kid, but the bomb, due to a miscalculation, detonated prematurely. After that incident, not only the Hulk, but also many other people became weaker gamma monsters.

The original gamma testing area was sealed off and replaced by the "Cube Gamma Containment and Research Center," or Cube Prison for short. A huge cube, occupying a corner of the desert, serves as the main containment facility for the entire research center.

The four members of the sabotage team were brought here by the Ultimate Team.

“I don’t understand why people were brought here. Although there are monsters locked up here, they are obviously not ordinary monsters.” Old Patriot frowned, staring at the four people who were tightly locked up, and then muttered, “This reminds me of when I participated in the experiment.”

Rhodes gave a simple and straightforward answer: "It is said that this was General Ross's request, and there is no prison more suitable for imprisoning superpowered individuals at present."

In the prison holding superpowered individuals, the mansion is managed by the Avengers, and the raft was originally managed by the United Nations, but for a long time after the Great Escape, it was left unattended. It wasn't until the Kang Dynasty that it was taken away by an Eastern country, supposedly for maintenance and reconstruction.

Dome Prison, on the other hand, is a special prison belonging to S.H.I.E.L.D. Its main body is a massive, towering tower, long and thin, located in a very special position within the Arctic Circle, and jointly defended by the United States, Canada, and Russia. Therefore, only two prisons directly under the United States remain for holding superhumans: the MRD (Ministry of Mutant Control) mutant prisons and Cube Prison.

MRD's prisons are definitely unsuitable. The current president, Ellis, is a member of the Democratic Party, supports the civil rights movement, advocates for "superheroes protecting America," and is quite biased towards the X-Men. Furthermore, with the failure of the Elephant Party's proposed mutant registration bill, MRD's situation is getting increasingly difficult, and it's on the verge of bankruptcy.

Carol walked to a cell containing a man who looked like a living skeleton, emaciated, with noticeably green skin and hair. He sat there in straitjackets, staring intently at the living people outside. As she watched, she heard General Ross's introduction.

"This man's name is Anthony Motson. Before he turned into this grotesque figure, he was a respected English professor in Arizona. But because of some monster, he became like this. We call him 'Half-Life' because he looks like he only has half a life left."

General Ross walked over and introduced the prisoner in the cell opposite Half-Life: "This is Philip Stearns, the gamma scientist from back then. After being bombed by a gamma bomb, he turned into this big, red thing. He has multiple personalities, but they are not so... stable and communicative."

"It's strange, isn't it? The culprits who caused this disaster are being hailed as heroes outside, while the victims are here, neither human nor ghost."

Carol looked at General Ross: "I don't consider you a hero, General."

"...I'm not talking about myself." "Could I be mistaken? Wasn't it you who pushed for the gamma bomb and cracked the super soldier serum? Or was it you who allowed your daughter to date a scientist you didn't like at all, all for the sake of your project's results? Or perhaps? Carol coldly abandoned the four-man sabotage team and left with her men. Rhodes, as an active-duty soldier, politely apologized and then followed with the others. General Ross watched Carol and her group leave, then snorted coldly and turned to his soldiers: "Take these people to the lab."

"Yes, sir. And what about Dr. Samson..."

General Ross frowned: "Ignore him, let's go."

Beneath the Cube prison, a massive gamma laboratory is operating, transforming countless individuals into irreversibly twisted monsters. Most of these people are homeless or prisoners; even in death, they are not included in the population statistics, and no one cares about them.

The leader with the enormous head sat in the center of the laboratory, inside a pure glass cage, playing chess. Usually, he would be facing a supercomputer or himself, but today, he was facing an Asgardian prince.

"How about the people I found for you? They can definitely survive your science mini-game and become excellent monsters."

Loki smiled as he watched the sabotage team being wheeled into the lab. Spider-Man guessed he was the one who gave the sabotage team their superpowers, but so what? Did he think he knew what the leader was planning? No, Spider-Man didn't even know the leader existed.

“It’s not valuable for them to become excellent monsters. The point is, we need this country to have its own monsters.” The leader was still playing chess, but to everyone else, his opponent appeared to be empty. As he played, the leader said, “Ross is still hesitant, still unwilling to accept the most obvious fact: if you want to fight a monster, if you want to defeat a monster, you have to become a monster.”

"It's not that he's unwilling to accept it, it's that he's unwilling to become that monster himself. When he created that abomination, he had no psychological burden at all."

Loki couldn't help but laugh. After thinking for a while, he offered a suggestion: "It seems that we need that big green guy to show off a few more times before our friend will be willing to personally transform into a monster and compete with it."
