Chapter 709 Ten Thousand People Arrived

For Peter, there were many times when he felt that it was unnecessary for Anansi to let the spider bite him. He always believed that the bite was simply to defend against Otto's reduction serum and increase the complexity of his own DNA, while shadow vision was useless in most cases.

However, Shadowvision proved very useful against Gorgon. Gorgon's mutated ability is to petrify his opponents through eye contact. Therefore, the best candidate to deal with Gorgon would have been Matt, but since Matt is still an undercover agent, the best candidate to deal with him has become Peter, who has both Shadowvision and Spider-Sense.

At this moment, Gorgon was swinging his katana at Peter in the confined space, constantly compressing the opponent's movement space. He was very surprised by Spider-Man's agility. Although he had known for a long time that Spider-Man had a certain natural sense of danger, seeing this ability in person still surprised him greatly.

This made him regretful again. He should have postponed the plan and waited until Spider-Man was not in Hell's Kitchen before taking action!
Wait, was Spider-Man in Hell's Kitchen today really just an accident?

Realizing this, Gorgon was startled, and then, brandishing his longsword, asked, "Spider-Man, why are you in Hell's Kitchen?"

"It's funny, I'm investigating a CIA agent who delivers trafficked people to you. He's probably a Hydra agent too. He just happened to be in Hell's Kitchen today. Hey, did you notify him?"

Gorgon paused, realizing Spider-Man wasn't lying, which only fueled his rage. He knew, of course, that the raw materials for creating the immortal ninja were delivered through various means, but the problem was, he'd never imagined these idiots would suddenly show up here today!

What a bunch of useless good-for-nothings!

Gorgon cursed and continued attacking Spider-Man, wielding the Godslayer Blade repeatedly. Peter was nearly slashed several times, but a near miss is a near miss.

This weapon, known as the Godslayer Blade, was given to Gorgon by the Kraken. It is said to be a divine weapon forged by Zeus, the father of the gods on Mount Olympus, with the purpose of slaying the gods. This weapon, which can freely change its form, was transformed by Gorgon into a more handy samurai sword, and has already slain enough enemies.

But today I can't even run into Spider-Man.

"I guess as a ninja, or a samurai, or whatever, you rarely deal with enemies that are perched on the ceiling, right?"

Peter lay on the ceiling of the castle tower, continuously firing webs at Gorgon below. Gorgon reacted quickly, dodging left and right and avoiding being hit at all. However, he was equally helpless against Spider-Man on the ceiling. In fact, he felt that Spider-Man was holding back his strength and was not attacking him for other reasons.

So what is it?

After repeated firing, Peter finally seemed to have gotten tired of it and, rather than a spider, darted out of the castle tower ceiling like a cockroach, leaving behind a bewildered Gorgon. He contacted the others, and then his face darkened.

Outside the castle tower, Moon Knight and Typhoid Mary, two psychopaths, are locked in a fierce battle. In the sewers, Silver Knight has lost signal, while inside the castle tower, Bullseye is dealing with the onrushing Defenders, trying to stop them from unleashing their cloaks.

Fires are breaking out everywhere! Trouble is brewing everywhere!

How the hell did these people manage to all happen to be together?!
Gorgon grew increasingly angry. The Hand was so short-handed that they had decided to use the Shadow Realm to isolate themselves from the outside world and reduce the number of enemies they needed to deal with. They had initially thought that the only remaining three members of the Defenders were the ones they needed to contend with. Little did they know that they were facing problems from all sides!

"Immediately tighten the defenses. The resurrection ritual is about to begin. If the ritual succeeds, Daredevil will persuade his friends to go back."

Since the matter was not yet over, Gorgon did not dare to speak too definitively, and then he continued, "Also, prepare the Norn Stones. If things go wrong, we will leave immediately. Yes, even the Shadowlands cannot stop the Norn Stones from being used for teleportation."

At this point, Gorgon looked around. He had a feeling that Spider-Man and the woman he brought were plotting something, but he didn't know exactly what it was.

Thinking of this, Gorgon felt the situation was becoming increasingly urgent, and he quickly ran off to protect Daredevil.

So, what exactly are Peter's plans?

The answer is, steal.

"So that's why you made me wait in Hell's Kitchen all this time." Gwen muttered to herself as she removed Mysterio's helmet from a corner of the castle tower. She seemed to have a real talent for this, getting more and more skilled with it. The fight between Peter and Gorgon earlier was her doing, interfering with Gorgon's senses so that Felicia could steal the Norn Stone from Gorgon.

Not only Gorgon's situation, but also the maddened Typhoid Mary outside, and the Bullseye Lady who was about to be acquired, all required Felicia's help. Peter hadn't originally planned to ask Felicia for help, but since they'd run into each other, he figured it was better to come along at the right time.

After all, Gwen was one of the people who knew about Matt's infiltration plan from beginning to end, and she was also involved in Erica's faked death that day, so Peter specifically called Gwen to come and help. Just in case, Peter had also told her that if they were planning to be superheroes today, Hell's Kitchen would be a good choice.

I never expected it would actually come in handy.

“If I’m not mistaken, Cindy, Lightning, and Jessica are here too. Nick Fury didn’t let them participate in Homecoming, so he must have set them all up in Hell’s Kitchen. Erica’s LMD was provided by Fury, so there’s no reason why Fury wouldn’t get involved.”

As Peter analyzed the situation, he looked around curiously: "So now I'm even more curious about why Fury's men didn't come, and why General Ross is here?"

“You might be curious about how many small stones they actually have that allow them to teleport anywhere; stealing those isn’t easy.” Felicia said, taking out two Norn Stones. “Did your blind friend say how many Norn Stones he has left?”

“Yes, just in case, the Hand will bring all of its Norn Stones to today’s ceremony, so we’re all counting on you, Felicia. If you don’t manage to get your hands on a single Norn Stone, all our efforts will be in vain.”

Peter was only met with the black cat's confident smile.
