Chapter 708 What a beautiful mental state

Having discussed the Defenders trio who discovered their cloak and dagger had been captured by the Hand, let's now turn our attention to Moon Knight on the other side.

Moon Knight, whose real name is Max Specter, is a former U.S. Marine who served in the CIA and later became an independent mercenary. While protecting an archaeologist in Egypt, he was seriously wounded by a backstab from another mercenary and placed on an altar of the Egyptian moon god Khonsu.

There, he heard the voice of the moon god Kongsu, signed a contract with him, and became Kongsu's agent, responsible for protecting travelers' safety under the moonlight.

Furthermore, he suffers from severe dissociative identity disorder and paranoia, not only having multiple personalities but also being able to hear the voices of other personalities. In addition to the main personality, the three most frequently appearing personalities are: Steven Grant, a cowardly millionaire and entrepreneur; Jack Lockley, a taxi driver with a strong sense of江湖 (jianghu, a term referring to the world of martial arts and chivalry) and a hot-tempered individual; and Mr. Knight, who is in charge of investigations and acts like a detective.

Oh, I can still hear Kong Su's voice in my head.

"A dilapidated city, yet it's decorated so extravagantly."

As Moon Knight spoke, he used his grappling hook to pull a Hand ninja in front of him, then punched him away with force. These immortal ninjas didn't even leave behind corpses after they died; they would only emit a wisp of smoke, and there wasn't even a chance to leave a moon mark on their foreheads.

Then, he leaped up and pounced on the back of a ninja, before grabbing his neck tightly from behind with both arms: "Look into my eyes!"

The immortal ninja's eyes were about to bulge out when the Moon Knight snapped his neck. Until the very last moment, he still didn't understand how he was supposed to look into his enemy's eyes in that situation.

I still don't think we should get involved in this. It wasn't Kong Su's request, it has nothing to do with us, and Hell's Kitchen has its own protectors. Why should we waste our energy? We don't even know if these people are good or bad.

Jack simply answered Mark's question calmly.

"I'm really annoyed that Steven fell because of this crappy city. And these ninjas don't look like good people at all."

Uh, actually I didn't grab on and fell... but it doesn't matter, since I was the one who got the call and came to help...

Steven laughed, but the next second, green flames burst into life on Moon Knight's body. The burning pain was unbearable, so he stood up and looked at the woman who had appeared before him, whose face was unusually pale.

At that moment, a voice that was not their own appeared in their minds.

[My fist, the person before me carries a familiar aura of sin, judge her!]

"Ah, it seems I have even more reason to get rid of you, miss. And where did you come from?"

"Me? That's not important. I thought we'd burn someone down today, but I didn't expect to see anyone here. And where did you come from?"

Typhoid Mary, formerly Kingpin's henchman, had a tragic past with Matt. She is a mutant with severe dissociative identity disorder (multiple personalities). One is the innocent and pitiful "Mary," and the other is the violent and depraved Typhoid. Interestingly, her mutant abilities only take effect when she transforms into Typhoid.

This corresponds to Project Nine, "Mr. Hyde," in Hydra's weapons expansion program, which is a super soldier project that alters physiological structure and superpowers by switching personalities. Hydra captured and studied him, then brainwashed him into joining the Hand.

Now, Typhoid Mary possesses even greater power, and correspondingly more personalities.

And so, the two mentally ill patients with multiple personalities started fighting on the roof of the castle tower, neither of them realizing that the other was also mentally ill.

Typhoid Mary struck first, not only intensifying the fire but also using her rudimentary telepathy to plant a suggestion in Jack's mind: if Jack took just two more steps forward, he would step into a pre-set trap and fall straight down.

But then his foot suddenly went limp, and Moon Knight's movements began to become irregular and inevitably distorted. He leaped backward and threw two darts, which struck the roof tiles. He looked at the bamboo darts soaring into the sky and sneered.

Typhoid Mary's telepathic abilities are still too weak!

If she were strong enough to read minds, then Moon Knight wouldn't find her troublesome at all—his chaotic mental state and Konso's protection would be enough to drive anyone who tried to read his mind mad. But Typhoid Mary wasn't strong enough; her telepathy could only create illusions or give hints.

That would be quite troublesome. Fortunately, Moon Knight has other tricks up his sleeve, namely switching characters. The one being hinted at is Jack. What does that have to do with me, Mark?
"You will pay for this, woman!"

Picking up the two crescent-shaped daggers that formed a full moon at his chest, Moon Knight immediately rushed forward and engaged Typhoid Mary in close combat. Neither fire nor telekinesis could stop Moon Knight from getting close, and Mary's own combat strength was far inferior to that of the former mercenary.

She was quickly kicked away and then hit by the opponent's dart.

However, she did not die. On the contrary, her other personality, the murderous and tyrannical "Bloody Mary," emerged and used telekinesis to form a set of psionic armor on herself. The two then began to fight each other in close combat again.

Meanwhile, Felicia and Peter, who had landed on the rooftop, looked at the two people below and sighed helplessly: "So, there are two lunatics fighting down there?"

"It certainly seems so."

Peter, looking down at the situation with some difficulty, then entered the castle tower with Felicia. Now that Erica was gone and Typhoid Mary was tied up, the Hand's remaining fighting force consisted only of Silver Samurai, Bullseye, and Gorgon.

Next, Peter saw Gorgon standing before them, wielding what was called the "Godslayer Sword."

"Spider-Man, I didn't expect you to still be in Hell's Kitchen, but whatever, I won't allow you to set foot in there."

Peter gave Felicia a wink, and Felicia immediately acted as planned, running deeper into the area. Peter watched as Gorgon untied the red scarf covering his face, while he himself deactivated the visual system of his suit.

"Everyone is afraid of Medusa's eyes—but luckily, I can fight without relying on my eyes."

On a side note, multiple personality disorder and dissociative identity disorder are two different illnesses. Dissociative identity disorder does not actually cause more personalities.

And who is the most powerful weapon in the "Mr. Hyde" project? Those familiar with Marvel can probably guess.
