Chapter 703 Another Year of Theme Week

Chapter 703 Another Theme Week
On the first day of the theme week, Peter was stunned when he arrived at the classroom. Although he knew that Harry had put on a big show, he did not expect it to be so abstract. He looked at Harry's outfit and exclaimed in disbelief.

"So, you really dressed up as a My Little Pony, oh no, I mean, a My Little Pony... Honestly, it might have been better if you had just worn a huge mascot costume, but this one you customized is just too weird..."

Peter looked at Harry sitting in the last row of the classroom and thought it was really wise of him to always sit in the back. The first day of the theme week was My Little Pony. Some people, like Peter, wore costumes of the characters. Some people wore related accessories and that was it. Most of the rest of the people were running around the school in September in their unbearably hot mascot costumes.

But none of them were as good as Harry Osborn. Harry's clothes looked like they were made of pajamas. Only the two front legs and upper body of the pony were on his body. The hindquarters of the pony were covered by fluffy stuffing. But that wasn't the worst part. The front of the pony's head was hollowed out, revealing Harry Osborn's face.

Harry was completely unfazed: "I think it's a perfect balance between being completely like and completely unlike anything, what do you think?"

Looking at Harry's face in the horse's head position, Peter remained silent for a long time before saying, "I think you'll be... who is your character again?"

"Twilight Sparkle".

The person who answered the question wasn't Harry, but Cindy, who was sitting to the side reading a book. Peter had good reason to suspect that Cindy was reading so intently in order to erase that image from her mind. Cindy was only wearing My Little Pony merchandise; at least Peter couldn't tell what character she was dressed up as.

"Oh, Twilight Sparkle, I think you're going to get attacked by all the Twilight Sparkle fans in school. If you post it online, you'll be attacked by the entire internet."

Harry looked incredulous, though Peter felt he should be the one incredulous. The two spent the break in silence. When the teacher started the lesson, he saw Harry and was deeply shocked. He then adjusted his glasses and began to listen to the lesson, the whole process proceeding smoothly, as if the old teacher hadn't noticed anything at all.

Nevertheless, Harry clearly felt everyone's eyes on him, but he didn't say anything and finished the class before asking Peter something he had really wanted to ask before.

“Peter, why didn’t you tell us you went to the Spiderweb base with Nick Fury?”

Peter looked surprised: "What? What were you doing in the Spiderweb base at that time? There wasn't any support mission back then."

"Well, it was just a coincidence."

Harry thought Peter knew about his video game with Amadeus, but now that he found out Fury hadn't told Peter, he stammered to cover it up: "You have no idea, Amadeus and I were almost scared to death. Luckily, Nick Fury didn't care about us and just let us leave, saying he was waiting for you."

Peter simply nodded, about to say something, when he saw Gwen peeking in at the classroom door. After Peter went out, Gwen asked curiously, "What is that horse-like creature?"

"That's Harry, probably a limited edition Harry. Anyway, there's nothing to worry about." Peter sighed and then asked, "Did something happen?"

“No, no, I just came to… let you know that I have something to do on Homecoming Day and can’t make it, so…” Gwen said, glancing at Peter, then asked, “Do you have a Homecoming dance partner?”

"Hmm? Oh, I see. Felicia invited me, saying she has to attend the homecoming festival in her final year, and she needs a dance partner..."

"Oh, okay, that's great. I thought you wouldn't have a dance partner for homecoming. I'm relieved to have one. Um, I'll be going now?"

As Gwen spoke, she waved and turned to leave. Peter hesitated for a moment before calling out to her, but only said, "Be careful."

If Felicia's invitation were just a simple ball invitation, Peter might have something to say. But now, even the ball itself is part of the plan. The CIA matter involves Hydra, the Hand, and General Ross, becoming an indispensable clue in the investigation of the Hand. Now, there's really no way to slip away from the ball.

Gwen turned around, smiled, and waved to indicate that she was absolutely fine. Then Peter breathed a sigh of relief.

"It seems I really don't have the talent for having a peaceful day. Everything I encounter is troublesome, which I don't think is a good thing... Oh well, let's hope that nothing goes wrong this week and that the Hand will focus all its attention on persuading Matt."

Peter shook his head as he thought about it and returned to his seat. Harry was chatting with others, his hands tucked inside his clothes when not in use to avoid turning from a pony-like creature into a centaur-like one. After Peter sat down, Cindy asked, "Is something wrong?"

"No, no, it's just that Gwen told me she won't be able to attend this year's Homecoming."

"...You have an appointment with Felicia, is it something important?"

“It’s hard to say,” Peter explained vaguely to Cindy, then suddenly asked, “Did Fury mention anything about this to you?”

"Frey only said that he would be available to help if needed on the night of Homecoming, but he didn't say what he would do specifically."

Cindy's coming to help? Help with what? Oh, wait... Peter seemed to have thought of something, and then added, "Although it's unlikely, if you find that my location has suddenly shifted like it did on the Savage Continent last time, immediately notify the Avengers... and Strange, especially Strange."

Cindy nodded to indicate that she understood, while Peter looked out the window after a moment of silence. Right now, the last thing he needed was an accident; he just wanted to get through the week peacefully.

To Peter Parker's surprise, nothing unexpected happened on the night of the homecoming dance.

I've been getting writer's block whenever I try to write about my daily life. Ugh.
