I'm working on Marvel's Spider-Man in American comics.

Chapter 55 Theme Day (Didn't expect there to be a fourth one?)
"If today weren't the fifth day of the theme day, I would find it hard to believe that so many things have happened in just half a month."

After a uneventful Thursday, today, like most of the week, New York City remains peaceful and quiet. Even the NYPD and fire department's communications channels are running smoothly, with no supervillains or tech criminals in sight.

"New York City, if only this city were as peaceful as it appears."

As Peter swung on his web, he tried to recall his dream. He couldn't remember many things clearly, but he clearly remembered a spider with the number "42" on its back.

This is certainly not a joke about "the ultimate answer to the universe is 42". If this dream is not just a dream, then it probably explains where Peter is going next - the universe where the story of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse takes place.

A spider from universe 42, through Kingpin's plan, arrives in universe 1610, bites Miles Morias of that universe, and a series of events ensues.

Peter didn't know which point in the movie he would travel to. He wished he could travel earlier so he could avoid the spider biting Miles.

It's not that he has any prejudice against Miles, although it was stupid of him to praise Miles in the second movie and criticize a lot of Spider-Men, including Teardrop, and the Spider-Web event was also stupid.

His reasons for stopping this were twofold: first, to save Peter Parker in that universe; and second, to bring the spider back to Universe 42 and give it to its own Spider-Man. That's the kind of story that should have unfolded.

"Today was really quiet—actually, it was pretty quiet before the horror happened, but I've gotten used to these past two weeks of non-stop fighting supervillains."

It's like an addiction; once you get used to those incredibly formidable enemies, daily life becomes utterly dull. It's not that you get used to being beaten, but…

Peter truly felt he didn't want to go back to his mundane past.

But no matter what, he still had to follow the rules. So after finishing his patrol for the day, he went to the school, where the students were dressed up in bright colors, pretending to be superheroes and villains.

Of course, Peter Parker still didn't dress up as Spider-Man.

The internship job postings at Baxter Building were gone; one of them, of course, had been pre-selected by Peter himself. Peter thought to himself as he put his bag away, then took out the drawings he hadn't finished the night before and went to his physics class.

Good morning... Are you a Zhagong person?

Harry's outfit changes every day, but he's still a villain from Doctor Who. For example, today his suit looks like a giant red mushroom. This is a Zagon, who, in the storyline, has the ability to mimic any other type of creature, but the other party must be alive to complete such a mimicry.

Sound familiar? That's right, because apart from one looking like a red mushroom and the other like a shoehorn-chinned goblin, Doctor Who's Zagon and Marvel's Skrulls are basically identical in design.

Peter suddenly wondered if Nick Fury knew that the Skrulls were also infiltrating S.H.I.E.L.D., or if this plot had never actually happened.

"Yeah, he looks handsome, doesn't he?"

"If you could become exactly like me, that would be what it means to be handsome."

Peter laughed and retorted, then composed himself slightly: "I got an internship at Baxter Building."

"Really?!"

Harry laughed happily: "Congratulations! I knew I definitely wouldn't be selected, so I didn't sign up..."

Why don't you give it a try?

“It’s just… I don’t think I can do it.” Harry said something that sounded vaguely familiar to Peter for some reason. He sighed and looked around. “I don’t even dare to ask a girl to the homecoming dance tomorrow!”

It took Peter three seconds to react before he blurted out, "You're planning to invite a girl to the homecoming dance?"

“Of course, I’m not like you. Even if you don’t know anyone, you still have a childhood friend to invite.” Harry said with a sigh. Peter was about to say something to encourage Harry when Amadeus came in excitedly, skipping and hopping, which was quite a rare sight for him.

"Guys, you'll never guess what happened!"

Amadeus was much more excited than Peter: "I got an internship at Baxter Building!"

“Oh, congratulations!” Peter laughed. “We can go together; I got it too.” “Really? That’s great!”

Amadeus looked at Harry with delight, and Harry, dressed as a Zagon, shrugged again: "I didn't sign up, but you guys are so cool, congratulations."

Seeing that Amadeus hadn't noticed Peter wasn't particularly excited, he looked at Harry with some concern and asked, "Harry, are you alright?"

"I'm fine, I'm okay. It's just that..."

"He planned to invite a girl to dance with him at the homecoming party, but he was too shy to ask her."

Peter relayed Harry's concerns, and Amadeus, remembering that Harry had indeed mentioned something similar, quickly nodded. "I see."

"There's nothing wrong with it. Just be bold and invite them. Who knows, it might just work out?"

Peter encouraged Harry, saying he didn't really care. Like Harry said, with Gwen backing him up, he wouldn't be the most awkward one. Amadeus had a similar attitude; he didn't think he'd ever have a girlfriend, so he didn't care either.

Harry was quite embarrassed, and in the end Peter reluctantly asked, "At least tell us what her name is?"

"Her name is Liz, and like us, she's a freshman in high school. Liz Allen, I've never seen such a beautiful girl..."

Peter felt a jolt in his memory.

“I know, I heard Gwen mention it, Liz and she are forming a band—”

Peter was interrupted by Harry before he could finish speaking. Harry asked eagerly, "Peter, could you ask Gwen to find out what kind of boy she likes?!"

“First of all, you don’t even know each other yet, isn’t this a bit too hasty…” Peter continued after being startled, “Second, it’s already Friday, and the dance is tomorrow. Even if you find out and ask, it will be too late.”

So Harry sat down in the chair like a salted fish.

"It's over, there's no chance anymore."

“Or, you could take the initiative,” Peter suggested. “Today is Homecoming Day, a football game. I don’t know anything about football, but I know a lot of people like it. Maybe she’ll be there after school. What do you think?”

Seeing Harry's still hesitant expression, Peter added a sentence.

"We'll go with you."

"Thank you."

After school in the afternoon, Peter, who had confirmed that things had been peaceful as usual, accompanied his brother to the playground. After pretending to watch the game for a while, he asked Amadeus, who was obviously also bored.

"Do you understand?"

"not at all."

Amadeus echoed this sentiment, saying that Harry's goddess seemed to truly be there, though he was now gone. Peter, meanwhile, watched as Eugene Thompson broke through the defense and scored.

Having witnessed all of this, Peter couldn't help but say, "It seems that lightning is unstoppable."

“Hey, that’s a great name.” A guy Peter didn’t recognize patted him on the shoulder and started shouting “Lightning Thompson,” and then everyone else started shouting it too.

Amidst everyone's shouts, Peter finally understood something.

It turns out that lightning wasn't part of Thompson's name.
