I'm working on Marvel's Spider-Man in American comics.
Chapter 26: Don’t fight Batman, what about Spider-Man?
Chapter 26: Don’t fight Batman, what about Spider-Man?
The members of the detective agency gathered together and used their phones to record a "thank you" video for Spider-Man. After uploading the video, they chatted for a while before leaving. Of course, Peter Parker didn't go home—he slipped away like a clever cat into the empty chemistry lab.
"If Jonah Jameson knew this," Peter thought to himself as he rummaged through the reagent bottles, "he'd be ecstatic—Spider-Man's first official violation of the law. But then again, it was Peter Parker who did it, so why should Spider-Man have any business? Luckily, there are no cameras in this classroom. I'll see. I can probably make three batches of web fluid. Hopefully, that'll be enough. Hopefully, we can end this tonight—who knows when Herman's boxing gloves will explode."
In less than twenty minutes, three bottles of pearly spider web fluid were stuffed into his coat pocket. He then opened the door and looked around to make sure no one noticed him leaving the school.
Peter didn't notice that Carl King, who had stayed behind from football practice, was nearby. He happened to see Peter leaving from a distance in the corridor and became curious: What was skinny Parker doing in school so late?
Is he tinkering with something? Can he use this to mess with him? Can he save some face?
He sneaked into the laboratory out of curiosity, looking for what Parker was doing just now. After searching for a long time, he found nothing, so he sniffed hard and found the test bench with the smell of chemicals.
"What is he doing here?"
Culkin curiously opened the filter cover of the sink and found something white stuck on it. Is this what Peter Parker is doing?
Curious, he tried to tear off a piece, but found nothing, so he cursed. He noted this and left the chemistry lab—unbeknownst to him, the spider web would automatically degrade within two hours, and by the time he returned tomorrow, the web would be gone.
Peter, who had already left, finished changing his clothes and started talking on the phone with Uncle Ben.
"Hello? Uncle Ben, I have to be home late tonight? Just tell Aunt May that her worried nephew went to see some fun. What fun? Remember to watch the Daily Bugle on TV!"
An unprecedented excitement raced through him like an electric current as Spider-Man soared through the Manhattan dusk. On to his next target, he needed a battlefield. To ensure safety and undisturbed access, he needed to block the roads. While he could find Sheriff Stacy, she didn't have the ability to cordon off an entire battle zone. The Avengers did.
He then swung all the way to the Avengers Tower, landed skillfully on the tower's helipad, and walked inside.
"Stop, soldier. If you go any further, you'll be within the security zone."
Steve Rogers emerged in a short-sleeved shirt and a cup of coffee. Peter had to explain, "I have some kind of... danger sense, Captain. If I were to step into a dangerous area, I'd know."
"That's no reason to risk your life, kid. What brings you here?"
"I've figured out how to fish out Thriller, but there are only two problems. First, I need to block off a section of road, and I can't find anyone influential enough to do that, so I thought maybe the Avengers could help."
"That's not a difficult task. What about the second question? You can tell us, and the Avengers will handle the rest."
"That's the second problem, Captain. The Avengers can't participate."
Peter stated his request: "Last time, Herman couldn't defeat me and fled. This is how I'm going to lure him out. I'm going to give him a fair fight, so he'll willingly come here and fight me. If the Avengers get involved, he'll most likely just run away."
The captain expressed his objection in one sentence: "Then you're going to have us pin all our hopes on you defeating Terror, and that his weapon doesn't explode in the process."
"I'm not proposing this plan because I think I've failed and need to make amends, Captain. I'm proposing this plan because... I simply think I can do it."
Peter took off his hood and looked at Rogers. Rogers looked at him, then sighed and took out his phone.
"You win, kid. I know a friend who will help you."
Peter used his dynamic vision to steal a glance at the note "Nick Fury" that flashed across the screen, smiled, said thank you, put on the mask, and prepared to leave.
Of course, the captain has a new problem.
"Um, kid, where do you want to close?"
"Times Square! Captain!" Looking at the swinging Spider-Man, the captain nodded and made a call: "Okay, Nick, I need you to help me block Times Square. I'm not crazy..."
Only a sufficiently prestigious venue would make Mr. Thrillist more likely to agree to a showdown with Herman, and Times Square was the best choice. Peter arrived there, took out his old camera, and kept moving between buildings, looking for the best angle to take pictures. When the time came for the fight, he would stick the camera here, set it to automatic shooting, and see if he could get a few photos to sell to Jameson.
"If only someone had told me how American high school students could get rich quickly besides doing odd jobs and committing crimes before I traveled through time. Now I can only take pictures of myself like the real Peter Parker... When I have money, I will definitely build my own high-tech base like Peter Parker in Into the Spider-Verse, filled with all kinds of uniforms, or add a display function to my uniform's eyepiece."
He really didn't know how to make money. He wished he'd traveled through time as Harry Osborn. Now he could only wait until the World Cup in Brazil and persuade his uncle Ben to bet on Brazil to win 1-7. This was the thing that impressed him the most, and he couldn't forget it even after traveling through time.
"Okay, the Daily Bugle's live broadcast at 6pm every day is here. Next stop, the Daily Bugle building! It's time to meet my beloved number one fan for the first time!"
In the media building of the Daily Bugle, J. Jonah Jameson was reviewing another press release he had written today. Today was another day to criticize those damn masked monsters. He took a sip of water and cleared his throat. Suddenly, his old friend Robbie pushed the door and walked into the live broadcast room.
"Jonah, something terrible has happened."
"What could be the big deal, Robbie—"
"Spider-Man is coming!"
Jonah Jameson's expression paused for a moment, then he immediately reacted: "Great, this damn spider crawler finally found us! As long as I, Jameson, am still breathing, I will never let this freak destroy press freedom!"
"He's not here to undermine press freedom, Jameson." Robbie interrupted Jameson's outrageous remarks: "He said he had sent us an exclusive news."
Jameson's expression froze.
"Welcome to today's Daily Bugle News. Before broadcasting the official news today, we received a special video." A few minutes later, in the live broadcast room, Jameson felt as sick as if he had eaten fly shit. If Spider-Man hadn't told him that the terrifying weapons could explode at any time, he would not care about the spider freak.
"Hey, Terror, it's me, Spider-Man, remember?"
It was a selfie video that was clearly shot with a cell phone. Spider-Man's huge face could be seen right next to the camera. "I still remember the day I beat you up, and you had to frantically threaten me with the safety of ordinary people to make me run away. What's wrong? You've been hiding these past few days?"
"I was beaten up?" Herman, who was hiding in the stronghold, was furious. "I almost killed you that day, you bastard reptile!"
He decided to ignore the damn reptile and refused to go out no matter what.
"I know you might be scared. You're worried you can't beat me, or that your weapon isn't as powerful as you advertise—or maybe you're just afraid of the Avengers? If that's all, then don't worry, I've got it covered. Tonight after 8 o'clock, it'll be just you and me, and we'll duke it out in Times Square. There won't be any Avengers, no police, but all the New York media will be paying attention. I'll show the whole world that your weapon is nothing special. Shocking."
My weapons are no big deal?!
Herman was so angry that he opened his closet and took out his uniform, then thought carefully about whether it was unwise to do so.
"—that's the entire New York media, Herman. And if that bug isn't lying, it's just him."
Thinking carefully, Hermann began to take off his clothes and put on his uniform.
There's no better opportunity than this, the entire New York media will remember that Thriller defeated Spider-Man!
It has already reached the top 30 in the division without being promoted. Thank you all for your likes.
