Chapter 56 Dracula?
A spacious indoor space.

Jim frantically tore at his clothes to bandage the bleeding wounds of his fallen companion.

Natasha had lost consciousness, but to his relief, she was still breathing.

Just as Jim was concentrating on treating his wound, he suddenly felt a drop of water fall on his head.

This puzzled him, but he didn't stop what he was doing.

As time went on, more and more water droplets appeared, eventually even flowing down her forehead and into her eyes.

This forced him to stop what he was doing and raise his arm to wipe himself with his clothes.

Just as he lowered his hand, his eyes glanced around instinctively, and then his movements froze.

His cuffs were now stained bright red.

This reminded Jim of something, and he stiffly raised his head.

Then the next moment.

Then he met the eyes of a pair of unseeing, dead eyes.

This startled him so much that he fell to the ground and backed away, using both hands and feet to create distance.

As the line of sight is pulled further away...

Jim was horrified to discover that Shana, who had just been alive, was now pale-faced, her abdomen pierced by a sharp claw.

Like a fish stuck ashore, it dangles in mid-air, swaying slightly.

What had just dripped onto his head wasn't water at all, but rather Shana's blood, which was constantly dripping from her wound.

The sight before him caused his pupils to shrink to their maximum size instantly.

This image nearly shattered Jim's reason.

The courage that had been dispelled by fear was instantly replaced by a frenzied rage.

He drew his already reloaded pistol from his waist, raised his hand, and frantically pulled the trigger toward the monster's head.

However, this time the giant wolf was clearly more experienced, and it simply raised the corpse in its hand and used it as a shield to block in front of it.

Let the humans on the other side shoot at you.

The next instant, several bullets pierced Shana's body, spraying blood everywhere.

This time, with a "meat shield" protecting it, the giant wolf suffered very little damage.

On the other side, Jim, whose magazine was already empty, was still frantically pulling the trigger.

The metallic clang of blank guns echoed through the empty hall.

This confrontation appears to be rife with malice.

The giant wolf grinned gleefully as it looked at the humans who seemed to have gone mad not far away.

It threw the mangled corpse in its hand to the ground and continued to slowly approach Jim.

He then picked up Natasha, who was unconscious beside him, and used her as a shield.

"Little mouse~ Why aren't you reloading? I gave you time to reload~ Hehe..."

And so, the giant wolf, carrying Natasha, deliberately slowed its pace, approaching little by little.

His hoarse laughter, filled with malice, echoed in the empty hall, pressing down on the already collapsing nerves of the human opposite him.

Meanwhile, Jim, upon hearing the giant wolf's hoarse and unpleasant voice, briefly regained some of his composure.

Trembling, he lowered the pistol he had raised high, his hands shaking as he took the last magazine from his pocket.

Because my hands were shaking so badly, it took me several tries to successfully insert the magazine into the chamber.

He then raised his gun again and aimed it at the monster.

The giant wolf cooperated by stopping and holding the human in its arms up to its face.

"Come on, fire!"

The malice in those words was made no attempt to conceal.

Jim watched the scene, his lips moving and his cheeks twitching.

The image flashed before his eyes of the bloody holes he had just shot in Shana's body.

He then looked at Natasha, who was being lifted up.

In a daze.

It was as if Shana had come back to life, raising her head and looking at him with hateful eyes, her body riddled with bullet holes.

This made his hand tremble involuntarily, and the gun instantly fell to the ground.

Upon seeing this, the giant wolf let out a few hoarse laughs and took another step closer.

As the monster drew ever closer, Jim could only tremble as he picked up his pistol once more.

But this time.

He was pointing it at his own forehead.

"Farewell... Shana, I'm coming to find you..."

With that, Jim closed his eyes, gritted his teeth, and prepared to pull the trigger.

Just as his fingers were trembling as he was about to press down...

next moment.

A sudden whooshing sound came, and Jim felt a tremendous force strike the gun in his hand, knocking it off course.

As the gunshot rang out, a bullet grazed the scalp and entered the ceiling.

Jim, who was rescued, opened his eyes blankly, as if he had forgotten how to breathe.

"Jim!!"

The shout drew the attention of both Jim and the giant wolf present.

At the end of the corridor, Li An, who had completely changed his appearance, appeared out of nowhere.

She was now extending a hand, and in her palm, a small ball of bright red liquid was gradually growing larger. Clearly, this was the thing that had just deflected Jim's pistol.

Meanwhile, Jim, having experienced this series of events, looked at his drastically changed companion with a sense of confusion and bewilderment.

At this moment, Li An's originally black hair had turned snow-white, and his pupils had turned blood-red, still faintly glowing in the dim light.

Between her lips, one could also see a pair of fangs gleaming with a cold light.

This image is so deeply ingrained in people's minds that not only Jim, but even the giant wolf next to him looks at it with a strange expression.

"Are you a vampire?"

The giant wolf cautiously took a step back, holding the unconscious human in its arms even closer.

"No... your scent has changed! You just started to smell like this! Who is it?!"

The giant wolf twitched its nose and quickly noticed the anomaly.

With a fierce expression, he interrogated the woman in front of him who appeared to be a vampire.

He actually felt threatened by this woman who should have been as fragile as a mouse.

This caused the giant wolf's anger to surge.

This change was clearly unexpected, and there must have been something he was unaware of.

"Heh~"

Just as the giant wolf was secretly becoming more vigilant, a mocking laugh seemed to come close to its ear.

This made his pair of eerie green wolf eyes narrow, and he instantly leaped backward, pulling away with his paws.

As he stood still.

Looking up again, I found myself back where I had been standing.

A handsome man with blond hair and pale skin, wearing a black tailcoat with dark gold patterns, stood there.

A sinister and dangerous aura rushed into the giant wolf's brain.

"Who are you! Mind your own business!!"

The giant wolf's pupils contracted upon seeing this, and it let out a threatening growl.

He then shouted in a voice that clearly suppressed his panic, trying to bluff.

The handsome young man responded to his questioning with disdain.

"I am Dracula~ You bunch of sewer reptiles, have you forgotten how to teach your juniors?"

As he spoke, he took a step and slowly walked towards the giant wolf.

Meanwhile, over here, one could hear the crisp sound of leather shoes hitting the floor.

The giant wolf's sixth sense was already frantically alarming.

The name Dracula is well-known, and the primal fear that drives him is also urging him on.

"Run! We have to run! Run without hesitation! Otherwise we'll die! We'll definitely die!!"

And the next moment.

The giant wolf readily accepted this instinctive warning.

Seizing the opportunity, he casually grabbed a nearby table and threw it at the other person.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, he turned around without hesitation, tensed the muscles in his limbs, and rushed towards the hotel entrance as fast as he could.

Almost instantly, it rushed a considerable distance, smashing through the glass and hurtling out.

At this moment, facing the flying table, the blond youth who called himself Dracula did not dodge at all.

It exploded into a swarm of bats, then regrouped in another location, once again adopting that refined, aristocratic demeanor.

However, not long after the monster smashed through the door and ran out, a series of terrified screams from men and women were heard.

Then came a barrage of gunfire, like popping beans, followed by the wailing of police sirens.

This made the blond youth, who had initially looked disdainful, turn his head and glance at Li An, who was standing to the side with his head down and silent.

"It seems you anticipated this, ma'am..."

Hearing Dracula's tone, which contained both sarcasm and warning, Li An couldn't help but shudder.

He quickly buried his head even lower.

He explained in a flustered and urgent tone.

"I'm sorry, Master... This was a rescue I had already called for; I didn't mean to harm you..."

Dracula simply snorted in response to his explanation.

He ignored the woman behind him who was rambling on and desperately trying to explain.

I walked straight to the floor-to-ceiling windows in the hotel lobby and watched the lively performance outside.

I've seen many people say that I only apologized and didn't explain, but actually this issue...

Well… how should I put it? I myself find it hard to find a completely plausible explanation.

I didn't think it through at the time. After reviewing the question, I realized it didn't conflict with the plot I had written, so I didn't need to change anything. At most, I could just omit the gender when describing dead people.

Because there were many similar topics in the comments section at the time, I remember one was called something like "black shell shrimp".

In short, it doesn't make sense, and even my own seemingly reasonable explanation has flaws.

It was quite a blunder, but the consequences were severe.

Anyway, fine, let them curse. I even downloaded a forum today to take a look.

They have indeed incurred public wrath, and there's no way to defend themselves.

Since that's the case, everyone should relax.

Criticize if you want to, but readers should refrain from fighting and damaging the harmony between each other.
