Chapter 55 Who is the prey?

The hotel's first floor, in a spacious lobby.

Natasha nocked an arrow, then crouched behind a sofa to conceal herself, her eyes warily scanning the dark corridor.

You can hear heavy footsteps and heavy breathing.

The monster was opening the doors on both sides of the corridor one by one, clearly looking for them.

As for hunting large, thick-skinned wild beasts.

Natasha's experience told her that she would only have a chance of winning if she shot out her opponent's eyes first.

Thinking of Karl's miserable state, her eyes turned icy cold.

"Karl, don't worry, I will avenge you..."

Natasha muttered bitterly to herself, listening to the monster's approaching footsteps, and took a deep breath to get herself into the best possible state.

My hands, which were initially trembling with nervousness, gradually steadied.

Listening to the monster's approaching voice, until its heavy breathing seemed to be right next to my ear.

Natasha's heart was in her throat. If the monster discovered her at that moment, it would almost certainly mean certain death.

She had already involuntarily held her breath, and the thought of getting up and running away kept popping into her mind.

The monster's footsteps paused briefly in the hall before it walked in another direction.

This relieved Natasha, who was hiding behind the sofa, and she then gripped the bow and arrow tightly in her hand.

He pulled back the string, ready to turn around and lean out from under the sofa to attack.

The result, the next moment.

A hideous and terrifying beast face covered in jet-black fur appeared before them.

Natasha was terrified as she stared at those tiny, fist-sized, eerie green vertical pupils.

She also discovered that the monster was looking at her with a mocking expression.

He is wise!

This is a discovery even more terrifying than its enormous size.

And in the very next moment.

Natasha instantly pushed off the ground with both feet and rolled backward to create distance.

The moment he regained his footing, he raised his bow and arrow and shot it into the monster's eyes.

"Go to hell, you monster!!"

With a soft whooshing sound, the arrow, drawn taut on the bowstring, struck the monster in the shoulder as it turned its head.

Moreover, the arrow only penetrated a shallow section.

Then, a cruel, human-like smile appeared on the monster's hideous face.

It stretched out its enormous claws, grabbed the arrow, and pulled it out in one swift motion.

Then, to Natasha's horrified gaze, the small wound visibly healed, disappearing without a trace in just a few breaths.

"God..."

This series of supernatural phenomena truly shattered her worldview.

Seeing that he was still in a daze, the monster grinned and rushed to his side as if a typhoon had suddenly swept through.

With a swing of its sharp claws, it sent Natasha flying. The immense force caused her to crash into the sofa and roll several times.

I staggered to my feet, feeling pain all over my body, and blood kept flowing from my mouth and nose.

The monster resembled a giant wolf standing upright, its muscles bulging beneath its dark, tangled fur.

You can feel its explosive power just by looking at it with the naked eye.

It was clear that the opponent had not used their full strength in their attack.

The giant wolf slowly approached, step by step.

In Natasha's trembling eyes, the giant wolf actually spoke human language.

"Little mouse, do you think you're good at hiding? What good is hiding? With this divinely bestowed body, I can smell your stench even with just my nose!"

As they spoke, they had already arrived in front of Natasha, who was already terrified.

The giant wolf stretched out its sharp claws and pinched the woman, who looked like a little lamb.

His wolf-like eyes revealed intense hatred and mockery.

As the giant claws slowly tightened, Natasha, held in his grasp, couldn't help but begin to struggle wildly.

"Don't worry~ I won't just kill you like that. I'll torture you like I tortured that little brat, making you experience the pain of death bit by bit! Hehe~" As it spoke, the huge wolf head let out a hoarse laugh, and anyone could hear the malice in the laughter.

Just as the giant wolf stretched out its claws, as if to tear off the human's arm from its grasp like dismantling a doll.

A loud shout from behind made him pause.

"Fuck! You son of a bitch! Put her down!!"

Hearing the shout, the giant wolf turned its head with interest, casually tossing the person in its arms aside and looking behind it.

He saw a man and a woman glaring at him from the far end of the lobby, the man holding a pistol in both hands and aiming it.

This threatening act seemed to have ignited the monster's bloodthirsty ferocity.

A ferocious grin spread across his wolfish face, and with a howl, he charged towards Jim and Shana on all fours.

The absurd speed and size startled the two of them.

Jim didn't hesitate at all and pulled the trigger to quickly empty the magazine.

However, the giant wolf was incredibly fast and had a terrifyingly fast reaction time.

Several shots were aimed at the head, but only one hit the opponent's right eye.

The rest either missed or only hit the limbs without posing a threat.

Fortunately, even monsters have exceptionally fragile eyes.

The bullet entered the brain directly from the eye socket.

The giant wolf's head was pulled to the side, disrupting its charge.

It crashed directly into the wall next to it due to inertia, kicking up a large amount of brick and stone debris.

Then it rolled over and lay on the ground, struggled a few times, and then stopped moving.

Seeing this, Shana swallowed hard, glanced at Jim who was still holding his gun in a daze, and asked.

"Is he...is he dead?"

Jim, upon hearing her words, snapped out of his daze and shook his head, somewhat bewildered.

"I, I don't know..."

After saying that, he suddenly remembered Natasha, who had just been thrown away, and rushed over to check on her without even greeting Shana.

Meanwhile, Shana was holding a baseball bat, unsure whether to raise it or put it down.

The last thing they saw was the wolf-like monster lying silently on the ground.

He walked over timidly, raised the baseball bat in his hand and pounded it repeatedly, muttering to himself as he did so.

"I'll kill you, you monster! You dare hurt Karl! You dare hit Natasha..."

Just as he was getting more and more into the fight, out of her sight, the giant wolf suddenly opened its eyes, which had been closed.

Looking at the humans standing beside him, whose attacks were as insignificant as tickling, he opened his massive mouth full of sharp teeth and uttered a series of mocking words.

"Little mouse, have you had enough?"

Shana, who was still swinging her bat, was stunned when she heard the hoarse voice so close to her.

He stiffly twisted his neck, then stared at the giant wolf's single eye with a look of terror on his face.

Then you see the giant wolf's eye socket, which was already a bloody hole, wriggling rapidly.

"Ding…"

A bright yellow bullet was squeezed out of its eye socket and fell to the ground by writhing flesh.

Then the giant wolf closed its eyelids, opened them again, and looked at Shana with a pair of perfectly intact eyes full of mockery.

"Is it fun? Is it my turn?"

Then a strong gust of wind came, and Shana's hair flew up.

She felt something wet on her cheek, wiped it with her hand, and found her hand covered in bright red blood.

Then a sharp pain shot through his abdomen. Looking down, he saw a monstrous claw piercing through his body.

With trembling lips, Shana turned her head with all her might to look at her teammate who was still checking on the injured person not far away.

His pale lips moved.

“Jim…run…”

After struggling to utter a few words, a large mouthful of blood mixed with fragments of internal organs gushed from his mouth and nose.

Then his neck went limp, and he collapsed onto the giant wolf's claws.
